1980 280zx Rare Hard Top on 2040-cars
East Rockaway, New York, United States
Up for sale is this rare Hardtop 280zx. Hardtops are very rare from 1979 and up. I bought this car in the beginning of the year with the sole intent of doing a motor swap. I've never registered the car and now am blessed with twins so project has to go. (also have a Harley Road King for sale). This car was the perfect candidate for a motor swap.....auto/rust free/hardtop! The car was a California car its whole life until 2013 hence it being rust free. I purchased it from a gentleman in Ohio who got it from Cali. He took all moldings and glass off the car and brought it down to the bare metal before painting. I have all pics to prove it. This is my 5th Z and I've never not had one without some rust somewhere, not even above the tail lights when you open the hatch. I included pics of all angles. Obviously there is SURFACE rust on the undercarriage like every car exposed to the elements but no ROT. The interior is just ok, well seats are in good condition and hatch panels were replaced but some dash pieces are not so good.....BUT I will be including the spare replacement parts that are needed to freshen it back up. For instance the plastic on the gauge cluster is scratched and/or foggy. So I will include another gauge cluster. Also the tiny vent on the bottom side of the dash are broke so I will be including those as well The only thing I'm missing is the stainless trim piece that goes around the shifter. The tires are like new and the factory wheels were reconditioned. The car runs and drives and the AC is cold. Power antenna also is functioning. Car has an exhaust leak and sounds like it could use a set of plugs. But as I stated the intention was to do a motor swap, I was purchasing a complete 2JZ drivetrain (same as last gen supra) from Japan. So engine, auto tranny, and ECU average $2300 - $2800. This swap with absolutely no modifications will give you a 150hp increase over stock. Or if you choose throw in a V8 but like I said car runs and drives with no problem. I included as many pics as possible but if there are any others you want let me know.

Malaise Era All-Stars
Fri, 17 May 2013A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:

Datsun debuts new seven-seat Go+ in Indonesia [w/video]
Wed, 18 Sep 2013The Datsun name may have long since been replaced by Nissan, but the old brand is making a comeback - in certain markets, at least. Nissan relaunched the Datsun brand in July as its new budget brand for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback, and has now followed up with the addition of the larger Go+.
Set to be built in Indonesia at Nissan's plant in Purwakarta, the Go+ debuts today in the capital of Jakarta as the second model in the new Datsun lineup. The seven-passenger minivan features flexible seating in a compact form 13 feet long, powered by an unspecified 1.2-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Nissan isn't saying much else about the model, but hopes the new Datsun twins will account for half of its sales in Indonesia within three years. The low price target for both models - set to come in at less than 100 million rupiah ($8,700) - ought to help it get there. The lineup is then scheduled to reach other markets, starting with India, Russia and South Africa next year.
