North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
1977 280z Coupe
Has swapped engine (83' L28ET 2.8l) was rebuild and head resurfaced by previous owner a little over a year ago. has F1 Stage 2 Clutch and pressure plate, Blitz DD blow off valve, with custom inter-cooler piping. B&M oil cooler. Jegs fuel pressure gauge. Walbro 255lph inline fuel pump with filter. T3 turbo with brand new core replaced this past August. 2.5' Downpipe to 3" magnaflow performance muffler w 4" tip. NXS manual boost controller set to 9psi. Engine runs pretty awesome, it may be time to check the timing chain but that's about it. Around 200000 miles on chassis, 50k miles on Engine since swap & rebuild. Full Energy Suspension bushing kit. Tokico blue HP shocks with drop springs. 86' Toyota 4x4 4 Piston Front calpiers for solid rotors. Front and rear Strut bars. 16x10 Diamond racing wheels, White with 4.5' Backspace. Kuhmo ASX 225/50/16 tires with plenty of life left on them. Custom TCP global "Inferno Orange" paint, matte black hood and fender flares. JDM fender mirrors (one is a little loose) New weather stripping. Mazda MX-5 Miata seats, Gt Grant steering wheel with quick release security kit. Autometer boost gauge, AEM Wideband O2 sensor with gauge (not mounted though) I also have a Megasquirt 2 EFI that is not yet installed and willing to let go with the vehicle. Kenwood Radio with Hifonics Brutus amp and Boston acoustics G310 Sub. and Pioneer 4" speakers. system sounds pretty good but willing to lower the price if you don't want the Amp and Sub. 4 speed manual transmission Time for the bad stuff: Front right strut is completely gone. Needs replacement ASAP! ( would recommend at least replacing the front two at the same time as it's not really good to just replace one) Speedometer doesn't work nor does the Fuel gauge No Headliner and missing some interior trim pieces No A/C or Horn There is a rattle which appears to be coming from the Clutch disk (most likely a loose spring on the disk which absorbs some of the vibrations). The clutch works fine just a slight rattle which could get annoying. I have an extra motor (L28) that also comes with the car. Good condition and rebuilt. N42 Block, N42 Head with non EGR N42 Intake manifold, aluminium fuel rail with injectors, 6/3/2 headers. Also have a 5 speed transmission which needs a rebuild. Selling the car because I don't have the time to fix it like I should and want something different. Very solid car! but definitely needs attention as it's a classic now. |

Autoblog Podcast #339:
Datsun debuts new seven-seat Go+ in Indonesia [w/video]
Wed, 18 Sep 2013The Datsun name may have long since been replaced by Nissan, but the old brand is making a comeback - in certain markets, at least. Nissan relaunched the Datsun brand in July as its new budget brand for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback, and has now followed up with the addition of the larger Go+.
Set to be built in Indonesia at Nissan's plant in Purwakarta, the Go+ debuts today in the capital of Jakarta as the second model in the new Datsun lineup. The seven-passenger minivan features flexible seating in a compact form 13 feet long, powered by an unspecified 1.2-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Nissan isn't saying much else about the model, but hopes the new Datsun twins will account for half of its sales in Indonesia within three years. The low price target for both models - set to come in at less than 100 million rupiah ($8,700) - ought to help it get there. The lineup is then scheduled to reach other markets, starting with India, Russia and South Africa next year.
This father and son duo terrorize the UK countryside in Datsun 240Z pair
Wed, 12 Nov 2014The Datsun 240Z got a lot of things right when it was introduced, with handsome styling, strong performance and a reasonably affordable price. And while the coupes grew a strong fan base in the US, they remained quite a rarity in the UK. Decades later, a father and son in England have latched onto the car and bonded over their shared love for two completely opposite takes on this Japanese GT
There's already quite a collection of exotics in Mel Streek's garage, and his rat rod 240Z, which he calls the Ratsun, definitely doesn't fit with the rest. On the outside, the Datsun looks ready to fall apart, but it's mechanically perfect underneath. Alternatively, Mel's son, Ollie, has a completely different take for his Z with its perfect, shining paint.
Both Zs sound amazing, though. They have a mechanical, somewhat course exhaust note that's intoxicating to hear. You can definitely tell there's some work going on under the hood. Check out this video from Petrolicious for a father and son who both find something to love in these classic Japanese coupes.
