Hello and thanks for taking a look at my car! What I have up for sale is a 1975 Datsun 280Z, that has had a L28ET engine swamped into it. Also as you can see, the front end of the car has undergone the ZG conversion, along with the addition of the fender flares and mirrors. In addition, the bumpers were replaced as well.

This car has a had a laundry list of work done to it, spanning over four years after its purchase locally. This car is running as of now and I am using it as a daily driver. If you are curious to why I am selling it, its because of that sole reason. Since my primary car recently broke down, I do not want to rely on my Z as my primary transportation. I always intended it as my weekend car, not a daily driver. This is a fantastic car, looks and engine wise, and I will attempt to list what is the most important things from the car, because a complete part list would be too much list.

Exterior:
Fairlady ZG Front End
ZG Fender Flares
Fender Mirrors
MSA Fiberglass Rear Bumper
HID Headlights
Konig Rewinds Rims (16X7 4X114.3)

Interior:
Pioneer CD Player(Includes AUX port)
Aftermarket Speakers( Located in Trunk area)
AEM Boost Controller

Engine/Mechanical:
Rebuilt L28ET engine, to include new parts such as distrubutor, battery, alternator, and coil.
Cylinder Head Machined
Reconditioned Oil Pan
Turbonetics T3/T4 Hybrid Turbo
Custom Intercooler/Piping
Custom 3" inch exhaust, with Magnaflow muffler'
Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator
Hayden 8" Electric Fans (X2)
Steel Flywheel
Toyota Four Piston Caliper breaks
Tokico HP (Blues) Struts Front and Rear
Tokiko Springs Front and Rear
Functioning Air Conditioning Unit
Thermostat 160 Degree
Clutch Kit

Cosmetic Damage:
Driver side rear tailight housing has a crack, as shown in pictures. With this car I am also selling a pair of 240Z tailights to replace the 280Z lights.
The front bumper has a crack from a car dinging it, as shown in pictures as well.

This is just a portion of some of the work done to this vehicle. I have years of paperwork detailing continued maintence with this vehicle to include things such as all bushings being replaced, air conditioned install and repair, transmission mounts replaced, etc. This car has been meticulously taken care of these past years, and it shows. Also included with the car is two boxes of parts to include replacement gauges, extra break pads, 240Z tailights and more.

Last reminders, as this engine was just rebuilt, it is still in the break-in phase. I have done the first two oil changes at the 1000mi mark so far. Also, the 8" inch fans are doing their job, but I have realized that 12" fans are necessary to keep up with the extra heat, and the lack of airflow from the ZG nose. If you do purchase this vehicle, that would be my suggestion to purchase larger fans or swap in the Ford Taurus OEM fan like many do. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask and good luck bidding!

Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.

Datsun reveals new On-Do budget sedan in Russia [w/video]

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

When Nissan revived the Datsun brand name, it essentially hit the "undo" button on the rebranding it undertook decades ago. But this time, the Datsun name is being used solely as a budget brand for developing markets. The reborn marque launched in India this past July with its Go hatchback, returned in September with the Go+ minivan and revealed the Redi-Go concept just last month. And now it's back again with the new On-Do sedan.
Launched in Moscow by CEO Carlos Ghosn, the On-Do was designed and engineered in Japan specifically for the Russian market - Nissan's fifth largest worldwide - where it will be built at the AvtoVaz plant in Togliatti. Decidedly budget-oriented, the Datsun On-Do is a four-door, five-seat econo-box measuring 172 inches long, 67 inches wide and 60 inches tall with an 18.7 cubic-foot trunk which Datsun describes as class-leading. Punctuating an otherwise bland shape is a large front grille and lighting front and rear that looks (and very well might be) bigger than the wheels.
Not that the Datsun On-Do needs a big contact patch to transfer power to the road: motivation is provided by a 1.6-liter engine with a grand total of - wait for it... wait a little longer - 87 horsepower. Which might strike you as a reasonable amount of muscle, considering the 400,000 rubles Datsun is getting for the On-Do (but consider that translates to about $11,300). That's a couple grand more than what Nissan gets for the Micra in that other giant northern country, or about the same amount it gets for the Versa in the US (which sells in Russia for 499k in rubles) - both of which are powered by what is in all likelihood the same 1.6-liter four but producing 109 hp. Of course Russia has different tax rates than the United States or Canada, but with such little power, the Datsun would fall into Russia's lowest tax bracket.

Malaise Era All-Stars

Fri, 17 May 2013

A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:
