I'm putting my z for sale; it's a 1975 Datsun 280z S30 coupe 5 speed. She's a great car and she’s got lots of new parts. She’s a great daily driver.
I'm selling my Z because I need cash to start up my business. That's the
only reason I'm selling her. I bought this car with the intention to never sell
her. But life has her way of letting you know who is boss. I upgraded the
suspension and all the brake parts because I wanted to make sure she would be a
reliable daily driver. Fully tuned up and ready for her new home. She's not
perfect but turns heads where ever she goes. The interior is all there and original besides
one missing panel. The only interior defects are the holes where the
PO cut out for speakers, and the driver rear quarter panel cover is missing. On
the driver seat there is a small whole by the left bolster and a small slit by
the bottom left bolster. The passenger seat is mint. All
the gauges work except the clock. New Falken 205/50/15 tires on
Enkei 92s 15x8, new left and right tie rod ends, new sway bar end links, 4 new
shocks, new brakes, new SS brake lines, new rear brake cylinders. New Flow
master 40 series muffler. New 280zx master cylinder, new clutch master
cylinder. New plugs and wires. New carpet. Used 330MM Naradi steering wheel.
New shift booth and e-brake boot. Car comes with factory 4 speed. Installed is a 1982 280zx close ratio 5 speed. New speakers all the way around, 6" in
the front under the dash and 5.5" in the rear. Nice Pioneer CD player with
Aux input and remote. A/C blows cold and has been retrofitted to use R134
gas. Heater works great too. Dash has a cover over it, has a few cracks. The
car has some old tint on it that will be removed. The body is on good shape
with only a few spots that have bobbles here and there. The PO repainted the
car and didn't do a good job with the prep work. The rust is minimal with a car
this age and will be a quick fix with a repaint if you feel
it’s necessary. Frame rails are solid. The floor boards have a few small
holes, but nothing that a few patches can't fix. Overall the floors
are structurally sound. The original 280z bumpers were swapped
in favor of the 240z front bumper with custom mounting brackets. The rear I
left without a bumper because that was the look I was going for. Air dam is for
a 240z as you can see there is cut outs for 240z turn signals. Over all the Z
is a great car for a daily driver and she turns heads. She needs a few cosmetic
fixes but other than that she’s great! Hope the new owner will enjoy her as
much as I did. Happy bidding. Low Reserve. |

Meet the man who took a year sabbatical to drive his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster
Tue, 28 Jan 2014A quiet drive in the country can be the most relaxing thing in the world. What if it didn't have to end, and you could keep driving for a week, a month or even a whole year? That's what Scott Fisher is doing by taking a one-year sabbatical from work and driving his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster around North America.
"I had owned a manufacturing business in Las Vegas for 16 years. I knew I needed to kinda' get out, and unwind, and get my mojo back," said Fisher.
Fisher's trip has covered over 30,000 miles through 44 states and 7 Canadian Provinces, and it is not over yet. He left from his home in Las Vegas, NV, last spring and drove to the Pacific. From there, he drove up the coast to the Canadian border and aimed the car for the Atlantic. He just posted on his blog about visiting the Nissan headquarters and museum in Franklin, TN, and his next stops are Mississippi and New Orleans, LA.
Datsun officially reborn with Go model for India [w/video]
Mon, 15 Jul 2013In March of 2012, Nissan announced the return of its historic Datsun brand. Datsun used to represent the Nissan brand in a number of markets, but its badge hasn't been worn on a new model since 1981. In 2013, though, it has been relaunched as the Japanese manufacturer's budget offering in the emerging markets of India and Russia.
The model that will lead that charge, at least in India, is the Go, a car that pays tribute to the very first Datsun, the DAT-GO.
The operative term with the Datsun brand is: "budget offering." Don't step inside the Go and expect beautiful hides or brushed metals (it's being sold in India, after all). The instrument cluster features a simple speedometer, while the five-speed manual and the center stack above it are rather barren. It's not without luxuries, though, as iPod-style connectivity is available through a Mobile Docking Station.
Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
