This 280z is a January of 1975 issue which is the very first month of the 280z production models. It's been a Southern car since 1975. Bought new in Ga. A copy of the window sticker proves that it was bought new in Ga. This is my Daughters first car and is driven daily. I purchased the car in July of 2012 from a friend who traded a trailer for it and knew I would like it. Im thinking I may be the 3rd or 4th owner. I need to sell so my daughter can have a newer vehicle to go to college. The car is mostly original with ordinary maintenance items replaced. The interior is nice with a reupholstered drivers seat, dash cover, new factory cut and sewn carpet throughout. I started restoring/preserving the car and replaced shocks all around, shock boots, ball joints, tie rod ends, steering boots, brake calipers and brakes, front brake hoses, strut bushings, lower control arm bushings, rear brakes and slave cylinders, sway bar bushing kit front & rear, acid washed and rod cleaned the radiator, new heater hoses on the heater core, all water hoses under the hood are new, new rubber fuel injection lines, fuel filter. I put on an Electric fan instead of those noisy factory fans with a thermostat switch, new exhaust from the manifold back ,nice factory cut new carpet with padding and floor mats, new CD stereo with 6x9 Kenwood speakers in custom plastic welded boxes ,new paint 3/2013,very little rust repair before painting mostly surface rust on floor boards and tailgate area. Tires are about 70% tread and are 70/195r14. Extra parts go with car such as original air intake plastic duct, original radiator fan and shroud, new performance Stainless Steel muffler and tip, new key ignition switch, 3"orange stripes I was going to put on the drivers side fender that match the bottom stripes, also included is a painted fiberglass tail fin. I have most of the receipts to show that most parts were purchased were Nissan original parts. The drivers side roof drip rail chrome is slightly damaged due to someone trying to pry open door at some point.Overall its a real great smooth driving 38 year old car. Great start to a restoration or street racer. As mentioned the air blows cool not cold and the air vents could use some fixing to get air blowing more efficient. The Mileage cannot be 100% confirmed accurate. The engine and transmission each have a very small drip just enough to see on clean garage floor. DMV in AL tell me that cars 1978 and older need no Title so all I have is a Bill of Sale. A Title can be created at the buyers expense if you so desire. This Car will be sold AS IS. Buyer handles shipping arrangments if any, fly in drive away if you want. Thanks for looking.

This father and son duo terrorize the UK countryside in Datsun 240Z pair

Wed, 12 Nov 2014

The Datsun 240Z got a lot of things right when it was introduced, with handsome styling, strong performance and a reasonably affordable price. And while the coupes grew a strong fan base in the US, they remained quite a rarity in the UK. Decades later, a father and son in England have latched onto the car and bonded over their shared love for two completely opposite takes on this Japanese GT
There's already quite a collection of exotics in Mel Streek's garage, and his rat rod 240Z, which he calls the Ratsun, definitely doesn't fit with the rest. On the outside, the Datsun looks ready to fall apart, but it's mechanically perfect underneath. Alternatively, Mel's son, Ollie, has a completely different take for his Z with its perfect, shining paint.
Both Zs sound amazing, though. They have a mechanical, somewhat course exhaust note that's intoxicating to hear. You can definitely tell there's some work going on under the hood. Check out this video from Petrolicious for a father and son who both find something to love in these classic Japanese coupes.

Datsun debuts new seven-seat Go+ in Indonesia [w/video]

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

The Datsun name may have long since been replaced by Nissan, but the old brand is making a comeback - in certain markets, at least. Nissan relaunched the Datsun brand in July as its new budget brand for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback, and has now followed up with the addition of the larger Go+.
Set to be built in Indonesia at Nissan's plant in Purwakarta, the Go+ debuts today in the capital of Jakarta as the second model in the new Datsun lineup. The seven-passenger minivan features flexible seating in a compact form 13 feet long, powered by an unspecified 1.2-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Nissan isn't saying much else about the model, but hopes the new Datsun twins will account for half of its sales in Indonesia within three years. The low price target for both models - set to come in at less than 100 million rupiah ($8,700) - ought to help it get there. The lineup is then scheduled to reach other markets, starting with India, Russia and South Africa next year.

37K miles in a 1967 Datsun Roadster

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

When we think of comfy, long-distance road cars, there are a few obvious choices. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.
