1973 Datsun 240Z This is my 1973 datsun 240Z. This really is a sweet little Japanese classic car thats looks cool from every angle. It has the original numbers matching L24 motor, and 4speed from the factory. I drove it all summer last year. It runs great and always starts right up. I does need new fuel lines, as i believe, from setting around all winter they may be clogged. The Interior was restored a few years ago. I does need a good vacuuming, which i will do before I sell her. The body is in good condition except for a couple paint chips(on the passenger side fender) and a rust spot (on the passenger side door.(Which you can see in the picture). Tires in pretty good shape, I will be replacing the left front flat tire. I dont think i have overlooked anything. If you want a Z car, thats in great shape(and dont want to spend a fortune) then this might be the Z for you. Overall this is a badass little car. The car is located in Columbus OH, and can be seen if you call and arrange a time with me. There is a $500 non-refundable deposit due within 24hrs. of auction end. (paypal preferred if possible) The remaining balance to be paid within 7 business days. And car picked up within 21days of auction end, unless discussed with me otherwise. Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]
Fri, 29 Aug 2014Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.
Subaru Legacy pitted against Roadkill project cars
Fri, 05 Sep 2014There's an evergreen debate among auto enthusiasts about whether they would prefer to have the latest and greatest car of today or a certified classic from yesteryear. What if you had to further define that, though, and the choice was between a brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy or a turbocharged Datsun 240Z with a hatch that wouldn't close? Roadkill aimed to find out that and more in one of its best videos to date.
According to the hosts, Subaru came to them, handed over some money and challenged Roadkill's project cars against its latest Legacy. The result is every bit as good (or better) than any automotive-themed show you could find on television.
Things start simple with a figure-eight race in a rodeo arena with the Subaru taking on Roadkill's 1968 Ford Ranchero, originally built for ice racing. From there the Legacy races a 1968 Dodge Charger with no windows around and off-road rally stage. Finally, the Subie goes head-to-head against the Rotsun, the aforementioned turbocharged 240Z, through an abandoned neighborhood. Plus, there's a bonus drag race challenging them all.
First new Datsun in decade sketched, set for Indian reveal
Mon, 01 Jul 2013Nissan's Datsun nameplate revival will begin with two models bound for the Indian market. Nissan has released sketches of a five-door hatchback based on the Micra (codenamed K2) and a top-down view of a hood that could potentially be from a sedan.
The company's press release says all will be revealed on July 15 in New Delhi, India. The Datsun lineup will be first offered in 2014 to that country's ride-deprived residents as well as Indonesia and Russia. Later in 2014, South Africa will join the list.
We've heard Nissan plans for Datsuns to share platforms with company-owned Lada. In January, we heard the projected price tag could be around $3,000 USD to compete with Chinese imports. The official press release (which can be read in full below) says nothing about either of these reports, however.
