When I bought the car the body was very clean however the car had been painted once before and was faded and the original hood had a bend in the front edge so I decided to replace it with a very nice 280z hood. I bought the car originally to show my sons how to work on and do minor restore work and if necessary a college investment and since I have one going to college this coming year, this will be a good start. Most people recognize that these cars are becoming more and sought after. Engine upgrades, conversions, and modifications make these cars more popular every year. This 240z is an automatic car which is nice since it is so rare however, some might prefer to own a manual 4 speed . The car has been garaged majority of the time I have owned it. I drive it on nice days to and from work about 15miles each way. I also have taken it to some local car shows near and around town. I have all the original parts like the flat top carbs and air cleaner and misc., stuff I have replaced windshield, rubber gaskets, installed passenger mirror, carpet, dash cover. I have replaced flat top carbs with round top and chrome air covers. AC-unit was removed prior to me owning it. I have replaced heater hoses in and out from Z-Source. Front seats have been recovered. The car runs and drives good. The car is pretty straight and solid all the way around. Exterior: Normal wear and tear it is no show car however it does turn heads. Glass on driver side has some pitting from when door was sand blasted. Front bumper not great could be replaced or re chromed. Rear bumper was re chromed and new rubber installed. New power antenna installed. New gas tank hoses. Gas tank was cleaned. I have installed new rubber seals. I still have some for the car that have not been installed that will go with like cowl hood seal etc. Also have a set of spare wheels and tires that came with the car look like 280z wheels with good tires very nice condition. The car currently has new wheels and tires and tire have about 5k on them. Paint showing wear some minor pits and cracking still looks good. Front bumper see photo. Lots of new emblems and rubber. I do also have a very nice rear Louver for the Z that will go with, I have not installed.Interior: Good condition overall. showing interior wear some cracking on tops of door panels. Very nice car not show. New carpet, Seats have been re-upholstered Console has broken plastic around choke lever area. Most panels good but have some cracks. I have covers and panels that may have not been shown in pictures. The floor pan on passenger side has a small patch 6x10 and the driver side has one also nothing structural. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time the car is for sale locally. This car is 40yrs old I have tried to describe this vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible. Remember it is a used vehicle. As with any vehicle there may be issues that I have overlooked or am unaware of. This 240z is being sold as is basis. A $500.00 deposit within 48 hours of auction end and balance COD within 7 days. Buyer pays for shipping. |

Meet the man who took a year sabbatical to drive his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster
Tue, 28 Jan 2014A quiet drive in the country can be the most relaxing thing in the world. What if it didn't have to end, and you could keep driving for a week, a month or even a whole year? That's what Scott Fisher is doing by taking a one-year sabbatical from work and driving his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster around North America.
"I had owned a manufacturing business in Las Vegas for 16 years. I knew I needed to kinda' get out, and unwind, and get my mojo back," said Fisher.
Fisher's trip has covered over 30,000 miles through 44 states and 7 Canadian Provinces, and it is not over yet. He left from his home in Las Vegas, NV, last spring and drove to the Pacific. From there, he drove up the coast to the Canadian border and aimed the car for the Atlantic. He just posted on his blog about visiting the Nissan headquarters and museum in Franklin, TN, and his next stops are Mississippi and New Orleans, LA.
Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]
Fri, 29 Aug 2014Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.
Subaru Legacy pitted against Roadkill project cars
Fri, 05 Sep 2014There's an evergreen debate among auto enthusiasts about whether they would prefer to have the latest and greatest car of today or a certified classic from yesteryear. What if you had to further define that, though, and the choice was between a brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy or a turbocharged Datsun 240Z with a hatch that wouldn't close? Roadkill aimed to find out that and more in one of its best videos to date.
According to the hosts, Subaru came to them, handed over some money and challenged Roadkill's project cars against its latest Legacy. The result is every bit as good (or better) than any automotive-themed show you could find on television.
Things start simple with a figure-eight race in a rodeo arena with the Subaru taking on Roadkill's 1968 Ford Ranchero, originally built for ice racing. From there the Legacy races a 1968 Dodge Charger with no windows around and off-road rally stage. Finally, the Subie goes head-to-head against the Rotsun, the aforementioned turbocharged 240Z, through an abandoned neighborhood. Plus, there's a bonus drag race challenging them all.
