I purchased the car from the long time family owners and conducted a maintenance review of the car to get it back on the road.  The car was originally blue and remains that color today along with some primer.  The interior is white.  I have had many 240Z cars in the past and currently have two of them.  The underside of this car is clean and rust free.  This Z car runs and drives very well and would make a great car to drive or restore. The paint is old but there is no rust on this car except for the battery tray.  The dash does have a few small cracks. The hatch area is solid and very nice. The floors are solid and rust free. Previous owner removed the drip rails from the roof.  Review photos of the both outside and underneath. Yes, I drive the car around town but no, I would not drive it across the country, you can if you want.  The front wheels have a slight shimmy at 50 mph plus and may need some suspension bushings.  I will work with overseas buyers and have sold several cars outside the US.  This car is being sold with no reserve and a very reasonable starting price. I reserve the right to end the auction early if I receive a price that I feel is reasonable.

Pictures of the car can be viewed on my Photobucket link.  E-mail me for a link to my photo bucket.

Please  feel free to call me to ask questions or view the car prior to end of auction. My number is 916-764-9759. Thanks, Mike.

Malaise Era All-Stars

Fri, 17 May 2013

A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:

Datsun to unveil second model later this month

Sun, 08 Sep 2013

Datsun, Nissan's new sub-brand for emerging markets, has announced plans to unveil its second model. Its first, the Go, was unveiled almost two months ago, and promised affordable, connected motoring for five in a handsome hatchback body. Datsun is following that up with a pair of new models for Indonesia.
The first of these two new vehicles will be shown on September 17 in Jakarta, eschewing the typical auto show debut. It's targeted at so-called "risers," the nickname for a group of highly aspirational customers in the Indonesian market. Datsun developed it locally with help from Nissan, and it'll cost under 100 million Indonesian rupiah (about $8,900 at today's rates).
We'll have the full boatload of information on the newest member of the Datsun family when it debuts on September 17. Scroll on to read the full press release from Datsun.

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
