2006 Chrysler Town & Country on 2040-cars
Mesopotamia, Ohio, United States
Up for bid is a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country minivan. We have owned this van since brand new and the time has come to move on to something newer for our family. I have maintained the van personally with regular oil changes and other maintenance.
Pro's: Engine and transmission are in excellent shape and we have never had a problem with the drive train. The interior is in excellent shape. We have always been very meticulous with the interior and kept it clean and vacuumed on a regular basis. Recent brake pads and rotors all the way around so that will be good for a while. Passenger side automatic door in good working order as well as the automatic trunk. Stow and go seating. This gives you a LOT of room inside. Clean Ohio title in hand. Cons: May need struts, it has a little bit of a rattling sound in the front when you hit bumps. Needs two new tires. Driver side sliding door still works manually but the motor has died in it so it will no longer slide back automatically. The AC works and blows nice and cold but makes some noise. Burns about a quart of oil every 2000 miles but it has done this since it was brand new. Minor rust. Just a few caveats for the auction: 1. The van is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early without notification. 2. This vehicle is sold AS IS. There is not warranty expressed nor implied. 3. Pay attention because this is where everyone screws up. The van is being sold for CASH ONLY. That means that the van will not leave the property until it has been paid in full. If you need me to store the van for you for a couple of weeks or so, that is fine, however, the van MUST be paid for within 7 days of the auction ending, otherwise, it will be re-listed and negative feedback will be given for lack of ability to follow through with the bidding rules. 4. Pick up only. NO, I will not drive it anywhere. It must be picked up, no exceptions. I would drive this van right now anywhere in the United States with confidence. I hate to sell it because it is paid for, but at the same time, it is starting to have the minor issues that an 8 year old vehicle is going to have, plus the minor rust annoys my wife so there's that. I encourage anyone to come look at it or take it for a test drive before bidding if you can. If you want to call or text me, my name is Mike and here is my number: 440-321-0005 If you are a Nigerian prince, please keep looking elsewhere. |

Fiat Chrysler to get $105M fine from NHTSA for recall woes
Sun, Jul 26 2015The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is about to send a powerful message to automakers doing business in the United States, assuming reports of an upcoming $105 million fine against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles comes to fruition. In addition to the record-setting monetary fine, according to The Wall Street Journal, FCA will have to accept an independent auditor that will monitor the company's recall and safety processes and will be forced to buy back certain recalled vehicles. In other cases, such as with Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models with gas tanks that could potentially catch fire in certain types of accidents, FCA will offer financial encouragement for owners to get their recall work done or to trade those older vehicles in on new cars, according to the report. FCA could reportedly reduce its fines if it meets certain conditions, though those remain unclear at this time. These actions against FCA are being taken after NHTSA began a probe into the automaker over almost two dozen separate instances where the government claims FCA failed to follow proper procedures for recalls and safety defects. Included in those safety lapses are more than 11 million vehicles currently in customer hands. These penalties and fines are separate from the investigation over security problems with Chrysler's Uconnect system that allowed hackers to obtain remote access into key vehicle systems in 1.4 million vehicles. Detroit automakers gain market share simultaneously for first time in 20 years
Wed, 01 May 2013While monthly sales figures might be an easy way of tracking the progression of the auto industry and individual automakers, looking at market share might be more indicative of how each company is actually standing up against its competitors. For the Detroit Three automakers, they have collectively lost almost 30 percent of the market over the last 20 years, but now, for the first time since 1993, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler have each posted market share gains at the same time.
According to Automotive News, Ford's share increased the most by 0.7 percent, GM was up 0.5 percent and Chrysler rose marginally by 0.2 percent, giving the Detroit automakers a total market share of 45.6 percent. As for the Japan's Big Three, the article reports that Toyota is up by 0.7 percent, Nissan is down the same amount and Honda has seen "little change."
Six arrested from chop shop linked to Dream Cruise thefts
Sun, Sep 20 2015The spirit of this year's Woodward Dream Cruise was dampened after a rash of car thefts were reported. The vehicles included a 1966 Chrysler 300 Deluxe, a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette, and a replica of the 1971 Chevrolet Camaro owned by the founder of Papa John's Pizza. While these thefts outraged the collector car community, that same tight-knit group is now breathing a sigh of relief, as those responsible are behind bars. Detroit Police arrested six people – three adults and three teens – on Thursday, September 17, in connection with a chop shop operation linked to the collector car thefts. According to The Detroit News, one suspect is still at large. There's concern among Dearborn police that the same group responsible for the Dream Cruise thefts boosted some vehicles from a Ford factory. While the Camaro was recovered mostly whole and found in a giant bush on Detroit's west side, the fate of the Corvette or Chrysler has not been made known. Here's hoping these classic cars make it back into their rightful owner's garages soon. News Source: The Detroit NewsImage Credit: Jerry S. Mendoza / AP Government/Legal Chrysler Classics
