PLEASE READ ENTIRE AD AND VIEW ALL PICTURES! You are looking at a 1999 Chrysler Sebring JXI Convertible. It has relatively low miles for Its age roughly 108,000. It runs GREAT, has all new brakes and brake lines, brand new Good Year Tires on Gold aluminum alloy wheels, Brand new top less than 1 year old. It has the JXI package which at the time was probably one of the most optioned car. It has leather interior in really good shape for It's age, no rips or tears just normal wear. The top is power, just hit the button and down It goes. It has a pretty good factory sound system with 6 CD changer and cassette player, It has all the good options cruise control, power everything and ICE COLD AC! The body has some small dings, dents and paint defects expected with a car that is 15 years old (see pics 20-23) are the only areas worth mentioning. Don't get me wrong, This car still looks GREAT and you will be proud to own. The vin # is 3C3E655H3XT572951. It has a 2.5L, 24V Multiport Injection V6 Motor which runs GREAT and has always been serviced. I ask you to go ahead and get a CARFAX on It. For further questions I can easily be reached by cell phone or text 732-684-1804. My name is AJ. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IN THIS CAR! I urge you to come see It if you are close enough to do so.

PLEASE READ: I recently purchased and installed a used body control module about 12K miles ago. I could not afford a new one (over 900 bucks) so I purchased a used one from a reputable salvage yard, So there is a mileage discrepancy. This car has roughly 108,650 on It at the present time although the odometer reads 155,650 right now. The problem is the car It came out of had roughly 143K on It and since It is a main control module It now shows this on the odometer. NOW: The true mileage can always be confirmed through a computer/scanner at any mechanic shop. This is indeed true to discourage mileage tampering or odometer rollbacks. Now when I replaced the control module, the odometer showed roughly 96K and after installation of the used one It read roughly 143K on the odometer leaving a difference of roughly 47K miles. So after you do the math the car has only accumulated roughly 12,650 miles since my daughter started driving It. (it was my Wife's car who is now deceased) In reality the car has roughly 108,650 true miles on It (possibly not exact but real close) but you can get an exact reading from a scanner. It may get a few more miles on It as It may be used a tad more before It is purchased. FEEL FREE TO BRING A MECHANIC WITH A SCANNER TO VERIFY THE TRUE MILEAGE. I do have a letter stating all these facts to be true and has been NOTORIZED for authenticity. You can have the mileage programmed back to normal but It is relatively expensive so I will leave that up to It's new Owner.

Is Chrysler's 'America's Import' campaign outdated or offensive? [w/poll]

Tue, 04 Nov 2014

Chrysler launched its America's Import campaign with a splashy ad during the Super Bowl starring Bob Dylan and featuring a whole bunch of patriotic imagery that included Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, factory employees and, of course, the city of Detroit. Since then, the brand has followed the original spot with even more ads using the same tagline. Not everyone is pleased, it seems, including The Detroit Free Press auto critic Mark Phelan, who's fed up with the marketing. In an editorial for the newspaper, Phelan claims that it's insulting to the US auto industry and its workers.
"The phrase 'America's import,' with its suggestion that 'import' equals 'better,' feels terribly dated, a relic of the 1980s. It's the rhetorical equivalent of hanging a pastel-hued 'Miami Vice' poster on your office wall," writes Phelan in the piece. Also, since some of the brand's cars are made in Canada, the line isn't even entirely true, he claims. Phelan goes on to praise the company's earlier Imported from Detroit commercials for getting the right message across and showing pride in the city.
While "America's Import" might be the tagline for Chrysler's ads, it's not the whole message. Subsequent ads keep the hard-working, patriotic imagery from the original Super Bowl spot but put a bigger emphasis on the Chrysler 200 that the commercials are meant to sell.

FCA joining virtual CES with in-depth tours and Jeep Wrangler 4xe in AR

Fri, Jan 8 2021

CES is sort of, technically happening, but it won’t be the CES weÂ’ve all become accustomed to over the years. Automakers will be doing their best to participate virtually, assuming they decide to join in the festivities at all. FCA is one that will have a little nugget of tech to share with us. A few main experiences will be made available to anybody with a computer. FCAÂ’s main draw is meant to be “highly detailed interactive product tours” where you can get to know a number of vehicles in a virtual world and hear from a “virtual brand ambassador” throughout the tour. You wonÂ’t be able to sit in and crawl through the cars like a normal auto show for the public, but FCA is promising a rather immersive experience online. The guided tour through the cars and technologies will be available in 12 FCA vehicles, two of those being the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer Concept and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio. FCA plans to offer in-depth talks about how it tests vehicles, too. There are demonstrations planned for wind tunnels, the four-post shaker, an advanced drive simulator and general performance testing. Additionally, FCA plans on providing more insight into Uconnect 5 and vehicle electrification systems. WeÂ’re guessing the latter will offer up details on the Wrangler 4xe. The plug-in hybrid Wrangler will also be the star of FCAÂ’s AR play at CES. Everybody will be able to scan a QR code on FCAÂ’s site, then have access to a Wrangler 4xe on their phone. YouÂ’ll be able to “put it” in your driveway virtually, change the colors and get up close and personal with the interior.  All of this will launch on fcaces2021.com at 9 a.m. ET on January 11 (official first day of the virtual CES show), so surf on over there next week if you want to check it out. 1950s car ads are timeless

Sat, Aug 8 2015

Usually around the Super Bowl a few great car commercials show up, but for the most part auto ads today pale in comparison to the '1950s and '60s. In an era with a truly viable magazine industry, automakers would take out gorgeous full-page spreads to get the word out about their wares. It was also a time when imports were just hitting the US, and there was a boom in sports cars. Car and Driver has gone for a dig into its advertising archives from when the book was known as Sports Cars Illustrated for a truly great viewing experience. You can imagine a young Don Draper mulling over the copy for these ads, but some of it is laughably quaint today. For example, there's a great image of a driver whipping an Austin-Healey 100 around a track. The italicized red text proudly proclaims, "From 0 to 60 MPH in 10.5 seconds." One of the beautiful parts about these advertisements is that you seldom see photos of the cars. Instead, there are often detailed drawings that slightly distort the vehicles' lines. With this approach, the Porsche 356 ends up looking far more curvaceous than in real life. Plus, the front end of the Chrysler 300 looks large enough to land a helicopter on. The whole thing is worth scrolling through. There are some fascinating glimpses into auto history like an ad for Abarth exhausts before the brand was just known for tuning Fiats.
