I am selling my own owner barely driven 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible. The car has been used by me, a veteran retiree, for short trips around my neighborhood with my wife. The vehicle is in great condition, with only 20,480 Miles. The vehicle's MPG is 21 City and 26 Highway. It is a 4 speed automatic with a 4cyl 2.4 Liter DOHC 16 valve engine. I recently placed new Hankook all season tires on the car in June 2012, and the treads are like new. The car was purchased by me at M.S Schwartz & Sons, Inc. dealership in Shrewsbury, NJ, and has lived its entire life at my home in Staten Island. The car has been meticulously cared for and maintained. the VIN No: is 3C3HY45X47T585272. In the interest of full disclosure, in July 2009 the vehicle, with a 9490 odometer, was involved in a slight rear end collision while I was parked, resulting in 1,465.12 dollars of damage - no body work just paint as indicated by the repair sheets - to the rear bumper and trunk lid. I have all documentation on the repairs for your review. Further, the vehicle has been serviced regularly, including regular oil changes.

With regards to the sale, I am requiring a bank certified check (which must be obtained with myself present at the bank location together with the seller after a short test drive) or cash.

I am available anytime for a test drive or inspection of the vehicle. Please message me to inquire.

We have loved this vehicle, cared for it religiously, covered it frequently, and are looking for it to go to a good home.

Marchionne uses racial epithet to describe what must power future Alfa Romeo models

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime - certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing.
It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?

Marchionne says Fiat Chrysler can make 6 million cars per year

Tue, 01 Apr 2014

The combined Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will see its production capacity increase from a projected 4.6 million in 2014 to 6 million units once it completes its integration, according to statements made by FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne.
"With the initiatives we will announce in May, six million is accessible," Marchionne said during a Fiat shareholders' meeting in Turin, according to The Detroit News. Marchionne is aiming to complete the merger between the Turin, Italy-based Fiat and the Auburn Hills, MI-based Chrysler by the end of this year.
Increasing production by 1.4 million units is no small order, particularly when combined Fiat and Chrysler sales have increased only modestly in the past few years - only 4.4 million units were sold in 2013, and while 4.6 million is projected for 2014, 4.5 million is also a distinct possibility. Six million units per year has been Marchionne's self-imposed goal for the combined automaker, according to The News, claiming that FCA would need to crest that point to achieve profitability.

Fiat-Chrysler alliance in jeopardy due to Pentastar's IPO filing?

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

The four-year relationship between Fiat and Chrysler has thus far been beneficial for both automakers, but it has also proven to be a complicated battle between Sergio Marchionne and the United Auto Workers - the latter controlling the remaining 41.5 percent of Chrysler. With the recent filing for a US IPO, it looks like Marchionne and the UAW appear to be playing a billion-dollar game of chicken, with both sides far apart on how much the union's shares are worth. If it comes down to Chrysler's remaining stake being publicly traded, it could act to drive a wedge between the two companies.
According to Bloomberg, Fiat's chairman John Elkann says "if the IPO will take place, there will be two companies, and that's different than having a single one." Now, we're not great at math, but this sounds like the complete opposite of the full merger that Marchionne has been pushing for since taking the helm at Chrysler. Bloomberg notes that the UAW's shares should be worth around $5.6 billion, but Fiat could end up paying as little as $4.9 billion for Fiat to gain full control of Chrysler. A story by The Detroit News points out that Marchionne's "alleged low-balling" is just the latest hurdle the Auburn Hills-based automaker must overcome as its ownership is being fought over for the fourth time in 15 years.
