This 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser Limited Edition came fully loaded from the factory. Recent enhancements include an advanced navigation system featured on eBay in auction # 141159860986, and a Xenon front air dam and bumper cover, also listed on eBay. I am the second owner of this exceptional PT Cruiser. I purchased it in 2004 with 12,000 on the odometer. The Vehicle History states three owners, but I am owner #2 and #3 due to issues at the DMV.
The transmission was replaced by Chrysler under warranty in 2005 at approx. 37,000 miles. It has performed flawlessly since then. The engine was replaced in 2010 at 95,820 miles by Randy's Automotive in Ahaheim. Randy's Automotive is a premier repair facility, one of only a few repair facilities in California certified by AAA for both engine and transmission repairs. The engine and installation cost $3,596. The engine that was installed had only 16,000 Carfax certified miles, and came from Anderson Auto Wrecking in Walla Walla, who has been in business since 1946. Currently, this peppy little power plant only has a little over 37,000 miles on it, and it just purrs on the road. The paint on the roof was starting to oxidize, as is the case with many PT Cruisers, so the roof was recently repainted along with the upper half of the rear liftgate. The rest of the paint is original. The windshield is new with not a scratch on it. The front seats are heated, and very comfortable for long trips. The addition of the Xenon front bumper cover and lower air dam brings the look of the PT Cruiser into line with current automotive design trends, proving that the PT Cruiser's design is timeless. The look itself is aggressive and conservative at the same time. Combined with this PT's stellar black and chrome appointments, the new "face" on this 2003 PT Cruiser turns heads wherever it goes. The oil was recently changed at Jiffy Lube and a new air filter was installed at the same time. The front brakes, pads and rotors, were installed about two months ago. The air blows ice cold. The Goodyear tires have at least 50% tread left. As an artist I have occasionally used this car to deliver art. We don't smoke or have pets or children, so the back seats have seen little use in the past ten years. I am parting with this valued member of the family only because I now have three cars and only two garage spaces. The driving experience in this PT Cruiser is solid and comfortable. It really scoots and handles well. While it is over ten years old, and has some wear and tear to show for it, the wear and tear is minimal, and at the price it's being listed for, it is a bargain. I've been on eBay since 1999, and my feedback has always been 100%. I have sold several vehicles on eBay. The buyer of the last car I sold on eBay left the following feedback: "Car better than described. Excllnt transact'n. Would buy frm seller in a minute." If you have any questions, please ask. Chrysler recalling 630k Jeep models worldwide
Thu, 06 Jun 2013Despite its refusal to recall 2.7 million Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models this week over a gas tank fire risk, Chrysler will be recalling 630,000 Jeep Compass (pictured), Patriot and Wrangler vehicles around the globe for a pair of entirely different reasons.
The affected Compass and Patriot models are all from the 2010 to 2012 model years - 254,000 in the United States, 45,400 in Canada and 109,000 elsewhere in the world. In these models, a software error may result in the late deployment of the side airbags and seatbelt tensioners. In the event of a crash, failure of these systems could result in more serious injuries for the vehicle's occupants.
Jeep's go-anywhere Wrangler also faces a separate recall due to power steering fluid lines that can possibly wear a hole in the transmission oil cooler line. According to Chrysler, the vehicles could then leak fluid, possibly damaging the transmissions. Roughly 221,100 Wrangler models are being recalled because of this issue, all of which are fitted with Jeep's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. In the US, 181,000 vehicles are affected, with an additional 18,400 in Canada and 21,700 additional units worldwide. A Chrysler spokesperson said that no crashes or injuries have been reported with either case, according to the Associated Press.
Ram, Jeep redesigns on hold, Alfa Romeo models may come sooner
Wed, Jun 3 2015Last summer, FCA outlined an ambitious five-year plan that sketched out the company's product intentions for each of its brands through the end of 2018. However, even the best strategies sometimes need tweaking. According to Reuters after speaking with unnamed people at auto suppliers, FCA is now possibly delaying at least a dozen projects in North America for a variety of reasons. From vehicle to vehicle, these postponements allegedly last anywhere from just a few months to over a year. The sources from the suppliers claim that in some cases these tweaks are for engineering and design changes. The next-gen Ram 1500 reportedly has among the shorter delays and is being pushed from mid-2017 to November 2017, according to Reuters. Also, the much-discussed future Jeep Wrangler is allegedly moving a little later to July 2017. Among the vehicles purportedly seeing longer delays, the next-gen Grand Cherokee could get pushed back about a year to 2018. That then forces the launch of the three-row, luxury Grand Wagoneer to be even further away. Jeep's upcoming C-segment CUV and the all-new Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Challenger might also see postponements. The one brand allegedly seeing an accelerated plan is Alfa Romeo. Without going into detail, the sources from these suppliers claim that the Italian automaker is getting even more vehicles for its lineup and could get them even faster than planned. "Those plans need to be flexible and fluid, with the potential to add some vehicles, pull some forward and extend the life cycle of others," FCA said to Reuters about all of these allegations. "We look at these programs on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis." Investment in the auto industry has been a major topic for FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne as of late. He believes consolidation is necessary so that companies aren't burning money on the same projects. Chrysler recalling 31k SUVs and vans
Fri, 06 Jun 2014Chrysler is issuing recalls covering roughly 31,700 vehicles worldwide due to two separate problems. In both cases the company believes that most of the affected vehicles are either still on, or in transit to, dealer lots.
One recall covers roughly 10,700 Dodge Durango, Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee SRT models from the 2014 model year built between January 16 and April 17, 2014. The SUVs need a software update for the cruise control. It's possible that when the cruise is on and the driver presses on the throttle, the acceleration could last a second after the pedal is released or two seconds for the SRT. Afterward, they return to the speed originally set by the driver.
Chrysler says it isn't aware of any accidents, injuries or even reported incidents of this happening in the real world. Also, in all cases, if the driver presses on the brake, the cruise shuts off. The automaker believes that there are about 6,100 affected SUVs in the US, 950 in Canada, 425 in Mexico and 3,200 outside of North America. The software upgrade will be ready shortly, the company says.
