1967 Chrysler Town & Country 9-pass Wagon 440 Tnt/tqflite/8 3/4 Rear Runs Great! on 2040-cars
Rancho Santa Margarita, California, United States
THIS WAS GRANDPA'S CHRYSLER WAGON BOUGHT BRAND NEW IN 1967. HE PUT 63,000 MILES ON IT, THAT'S ALL.
THIS IS AN ORIGINAL, NUMBERS MATCHING UNMOLESTED CAR-LESS THAN 4,600 MADE. ONLY SURFACE RUST ZERO CANCER ANYWHERE. NEVER HIT, LAZER STRAIGHT BUT A FEW MINOR BOO BOO'S. GRANDPA BOUGHT ONLY THE BEST OF THE BEST - I AM TOLD THIS CAR HAS EVERY AVAILABLE OPTION FOR A TOWN & COUNTRY STATION WAGON IN 1967, NAMELY (HERE ARE THE MAIN THINGS): DUAL AIR CONDITIONING WHICH STILL WORKS, NEEDS CHARGING CRUISE CONTROL PW/PWW/PDL/PS/PDB POWER REAR WINDOW FOLD DOWN REAR SEAT SEAT BELTS CRUISE CONTROL HEADLIGHT DIMMER EMERGENCY FLASHERS SPLIT BENCH SEATS THIRD ROW SEAT FACTORY TOWING PACKAGE WITH FACTORY TRAILER HITCH 440 "RB" SERIES "TNT" ENGINE 4-BARREL CARBURETOR DUAL SNORKEL AIR CLEANER DUAL EXHAUST TORQUE-FLITE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 8 3/4 REAR END TOP OF THE LINE RADIO + 8-TRACK PLAYER ROOF RACK GRAB HANDLES & FENDER STEP PADS TO ACCESS ROOF RACK HERE IS THE VIN - CE 46K 761 95512 DECODED: C=NEWPORT, 300, NEW YORKER, CHRYSLER E=ECONOMY 4=4-DOORS 6=3-SEAT WAGON K=V8-440CID, 1-4-BBL, "RB" (RAISED BLOCK) 7=YEAR - 1967 6=ASSEMBLY PLANT - NEWARK DELAWARE 195512=SERIAL NUMBER THE CAR SAT IN GRANDPA'S MID-WILSHIRE LOS ANGELELS BUILDING PARKING LOT FOR 25 YEARS AFTER HE PASSED AWAY IN 1985. A VAGRANT WAS LIVING IN THE CAR WHEN I RETRIEVED IF FOR MY UNCLE IN 2010. OVER THE 25 YEARS, KIDS BROKE THE DRIVERS WIND WING AND GOT IN AND DID SOME GRAFFITI WORK, RUINED THE FRONT SEAT (ANY UPHOLSTERY SHOP CAN FIX THIS) , AND THE HEADLINER (NEW KIT ON EBAY RIGHT NOW FOR $250) AND BROKE OFF THE TURN SIGNAL HANDLE, STOLE THE 8-TRACK PLAYER AND THE SPEAKERS. AMAZINGLY, THEY DID NOT RUIN ANY PART OF THE DASHBOARD (EXCEPT THEY TOOK THE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SONSOR)- IT IS INTACT (THANK GOODNESS!) BUT THEY DID TAKE THE STEERING WHEEL EMBLEM (ONE ON EBAY RIGHT NOW) . THEY TORE OFF THE DRIVER'S SIDE OUTSIDE REMOTE MIRROR (I JUST BOUGHT ONE FOR IT), STOLE THE HUBCAPS (I HAVE 6), TORE OUT THE REAR VIEW MIRROR (ONE ON EBAY RIGHT NOW), TOOK THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR (PAIR ON EBAY RIGHT NOW) AND THAT IS ALL I CAN THINK OF. IT SAT IN MY STREET ROD BUILDER'S BACK YARD FROM 2010 TO JUNE 2013 WHEN I ASKED HIM TO GET THE CAR RUNNING- I BOUGHT THE PARTS, HE AND HIS STAFF DID THE WORK, AS FOLLOWS: ALL NEW TIRES ALL NEW BRAKES (ROTORS/DRUMS TURNED, NEW CALIPERS & WHEEL CYLINDERS, NEW SPRING KITS NEW BRAKE SHOES AND PADS NEW MASTER CYLINDER NEW MUFFLERS NEW SHOCKS NEW STERRING GEARBOX (THE LORD ONLY KNOWS WHY THAT WENT BAD) NEW WATER PUMP NEW BELTS NEW CARBURETOR NEW HOSES NEW RADIATOR CAP NEW HEADLIGHTS NEW MOPAR ALTERNATOR NEW INNER/OUTER SEALS & BEARING ALL 4 CORNERS GAS TANK REMOVED, BOILED OT, COATED INSIDE NEW IGNITION SWITCH & KEY NEW BATTERY AFTER HE BROUGHT IT DOWN TO ME, WE DETERMINED THE ONE OF THE NEW CALIPERS AND THE NEW MASTER CYLINDER WAS BAD SO I REPLACED THEM. SOMETHING HAS GONE WRONG WITH THE ELECTRICAL SO I BYPASSED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO BE ABLE TO START THE CAR IN ORDER FOR YOU TO TEST DRIVE IT, BUT SOMEONE WILL HAVE TO TAKE APART THE CONNECTIONS AND CLEAN THE CONTACTS AND RE-HOOK UP EVERYTHING. THIS IS COMMON TO THIS CAR AND IS EASILY CURED. ONCE THE JUICE GETS BACK INTO THE CAB EVERYTHING WORKS AND THE A/C WILL HAVE TO BE CHARGED. ALSO,THE REAR WINDOW WONT ROLLUP BUT I CAN HEAR CLICKING SO THE MOTOR I BELIEVE IS FINE BUT THE TRACK IS FROZEN FOR SOME REASON. ALL OF THE GLASS IS OEM AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AS IS THE IMPORTANT TRIM WHICH IS ALL THERE - NOTHING MISSING- THE EASY STUFF LIKE THE REAR FENDER EMBELMS ARE SHOT BUT ARE AVAILABLE. THE CAR RUNS GREAT, SHIFTS GREAT DRIVES GREAT AND THE BRAKES WILL THROW YOU THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD IF YOU DON'T WATCH IT - NEEDLESS TO SAY, WITH A LITTLE EFFORT, ELBOW GREASE AND SOME LOVIN' THIS CAN BE AN EXCELLENT CRUISER, SURF WAGON OR PUSH CAR FOR YOUR ANTIQUE FUEL ALTERED DRAGSTER LIKE IT WAS GOING TO BE FOR MINE BUT I OPTED FOR A '29 MODEL "A" ROADSTER PICKUP, INSTEAD. OR....YOU CAN TAKE OUT THE DREAM DRIVE TRAIN OUT, PUT IT IN YOUR SLEEPER VALIANT AND FIND SOMENE WHO WANTS TO PART OUT THE REST OF THE CAR AS IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS WAGON HAS A '67 440 TNT WITH STEEL CRANK, 350 HP CAM, 915 HEADS, TORQUE-FLITE AND 354 POSI 8 3/4 REAR END AND IT RUNS GREAT WITH ONLY 63K MILES ON THE CLOCK. CALL TOM WITH QUESTIONS AT 714-350-9200 PICKUP ONLY IN RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA |

2015 Chrysler 300 looks to recapture its mojo in LA
Wed, 19 Nov 2014Chrysler's 300 sedan has never been a shrinking violet, but it arguably lost a bit of swagger when its second-generation model bowed. There was no way that an evolutionary design could ever upend the automotive establishment the way the original 2005 model did, but even so, something was clearly left on the table when the 2011 model bowed.
You don't have take our word for it - Chrysler knows it, too. Reflecting back upon the second-generation model's styling today, Ralph Gilles, Chrysler's senior vice president of design is refreshingly candid, telling Autoblog, "Our previous generation of leaders didn't understand the car very well, and kind of forced this front end on us." For 2015, Gilles and Co. have worked to recapture some of the 2005 design's lightning in a bottle. In Gilles' words, the brief for the refreshed 2015 model was to "give the car the attitude it deserves... up the attitude, up the presence."
Visually, the new 300 initially appears very similar to the current car, but closer inspection and side-by-side comparisons reveal countless changes, the most noticeable being a much larger front grille (by about 30 percent), redone light fixtures and a 'Mobius-strip' lower fascia that picks up where the new 200 left off. The cabin has been upgraded, too, with a standard seven-inch display in the gauge cluster, the latest UConnect infotainment system and improved material choices.
Ferrari to be spun off from Fiat Chrysler
Wed, 29 Oct 2014The recently merged Fiat Chrysler Automobiles empire has ambitious plans for growth, and it's going to need some big bucks in its coffers in order to enact them. Part of that cash injection is coming from the floating of its IPO on the New York Stock Exchange, but now FCA has announced a further capital campaign to be based on the enormous asset that is Ferrari.
FCA's board of directors has just approved the separation of Ferrari from the rest of the group as a separate entity. Once that separation is complete, Ferrari will put 10 percent of its shares on the stock market "in the United States and possibly a European exchange" as well.
This isn't the first time that the idea of a Ferrari IPO has been raised. Sergio Marchionne, chief executive of Chrysler, Fiat and Ferrari (pictured above), first raised the idea four years ago. Former Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo nixed the idea, but now that he's been discharged, it appears there's nothing to get in the way of Marchionne's desires.
Marchionne: Midsize pickup still not in the cards; Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler could use aluminum
Wed, 07 May 2014During the Fiat-Chrysler briefings on Tuesday, Reid Bigland, head of Ram Trucks, outlined the new product plans for his brand, including confirmation that an all-new light-duty Ram 1500 will launch in 2017. From there, discussions spun off in two directions, with the main questions being: will Ram build a midsize pickup? And, following Ford's move to extensively use aluminum in its new 2015 F-150, will Chrysler be using this weight-saving material for the next round of its fullsize truck, as well?
"I think there is room for a Ram 1000," Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne (pictured above) told members of the media, saying this is a conversation the automaker has been having internally for several years now. "We've tried this ... we've actually taken it to clinics," Marchionne stated, adding that the "response has been lukewarm."
