This is an awesome 1964 Chrysler Newport with a 361 cu. in. motor and automatic transmission. Transmission is push button on dash. Car has only 53,600 miles! This car runs and drives great! It has power steering and steers so easily you can drive it with one finger. Car rides very smoothly and feels like you are floating on a cloud while going down the road. I bought the car a few years ago from my uncle and I had planned to restore it for my daughter but she is more interested in a pickup we are working on and I don't have the time and money for both. The paint is original, as far as I know. The body is straight and in excellent shape except for some rust in the wheel wells and some scratches along passenger side where my uncle hit a mailbox and messed it up a bit. Trim piece on passenger door is dinged up. There are also a couple minor spots where paint is chipped and a bit of surface rust has started. The scratches on passenger side weren't fixed the best and the touch-up paint is coming off and the doors need to be sanded down and painted better. Front fender emblems are missing. I have the letters for the trunk except it is missing the s and one r. The interior is 50 years old and shows it. Front seat is splitting at the seams and looks much better with a seat cover. Top of rear seat is brittle and cracking. Headliner has a couple holes from mice getting into it. I would feel confident driving this car anywhere. It could use new tires. I haven't replaced them because I was planning on buying new rims and tires together. It still has 14" tires and I was going to upgrade to 15" or 16" but have not had the chance. I have 3 original hub caps for the 14" and also 3 hubcaps for 15" that I will throw in with it. Car has new brakes, battery, alternator and voltage regulator. It rides smoother than many new cars. It will cruise at 70 mph all day with no problem. It does not have a/c- another reason my daughter isn't as interested in it. The driver side rear door armrest is broken. The driver's side rear window regulator broke so I have the window up and took the handcrank off. It looks like it could be welded back together and probably could even be fixed with j.b. weld. Trunk is in good shape with only a couple rust holes. Fuel lines eventually need replaced. They were broken so I have fixed it with rubber fuel line and just haven't gotten around to putting metal line back in yet. Right taillight bezel is broken. Dash pad has warped in the heat on right side. I have tried to list all damage I can think of. I don't want anyone to get it and have any surprises. If you have any questions, please email me here or call me at 641-208-6955. I think that this is really a great car and with a little tlc it could really be awesome again. It gets lots of attention as it is already. I would love to have the time and money to put fresh paint on it and new wheels and tires. The motor has a lot of power. Would make an awesome sleeper with different intake and a 4 barrel carburetor.

Fiat Chrysler global HQ lands in London's ultra-posh West End
Thu, 18 Sep 2014It seems Fiat is bent on bolstering its image as a global automaker, as word has leaked out that the Italian/American conglomerate has chosen to locate its global headquarters in a rather swanky neighborhood in London. According to Bloomberg, the rental location on St. James Street in London's West End is a 10-minute walk from Buckingham Palace, and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will fill up three complete floors of an office building that also houses The Economist magazine.
As a neutral location between Italy and the United States, the London-based headquarters makes sense, though, at $277 per square foot, this area is said to be the most expensive office space in the world. There's no mention of what FCA has actually agreed to pay for renting the space, but we're certain it isn't coming cheap.
Not surprisingly, Bloomberg also cites research indicating that the largest number of immigrants moving into London from January through August of this year hail from Italy, which makes sense considering the number of Italian executives and workers we'd expect would have to relocate to the UK in order to work at Fiat's new home. The company reportedly plans to be in place in London by the time it holds its next round of board meetings in October.
Chrysler touts Pacifica Plug-in minivan's lower emissions
Thu, Jan 12 2017Put the words "Chrysler" and "minivan" together, and the concept of lower greenhouse-gas emissions may not immediately come to mind – especially given today's news about FCA sister brands Ram and Jeep. Among mass-market automakers, Chrysler and its sister companies (namely Dodge and Ram) have long lagged its competitors in fuel economy, with little in the way of drivetrain electrification. Now, though, Fiat Chrysler says it's taking steps to make some green-vehicle progress via its new Chrysler Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid minivan. Namely, the automaker says the minivan, which can go 33 miles on electric power alone, generates 31 percent less emissions than previous-generation Pacifica, and 24 percent less than the 2017 model-year gas-powered variant. The Pacifica Plug-in, which will be the first hybrid minivan to be sold in the US, has a fuel-economy rating of 84 miles per gallon equivalent, and can go as far as 566 miles on a full tank and full electric charge. That full charge takes about two hours with a 240-volt charger, and 14 hours from a standard, 110-volt outlet. That means that over the lifecycle of the vehicle (estimated at 120,000 miles), the plug-in minivan, which will compete against models such as the Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey, may cut emissions by 21 metric tons of carbon dioxide relative to the gas-powered version. That is the equivalent to the annual emissions of about 22 US households, or, as Chrysler put it, 14 commercial flights to Los Angeles from Detroit. Chrysler is pricing the minivan at about $43,000 (or about $35,000 once the $7,500 federal tax credit for plug-in vehicles kicks in) and will start selling the model by the end of March. Sell your own: 1969 Plymouth Barracuda
Mon, May 22 2017Looking to sell your car? We make it easy and free. Quickly create listings with up to six photos and reach millions of buyers. Log in and create your free listings. Always the "third" element in Detroit's Big Three, Chrysler and its Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler divisions, usually played catchup to GM and Ford. However, Plymouth actually arrived to the ponycar segment on time, with its launch of the Valiant-based Barracuda almost on top of Ford's Mustang. That said, the segment became named for ponies, not an aggressive fish. By 1969, the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro were becoming bigger and more sophisticated. The Barracuda, by contrast, held on to its essential simplicity. We'd prefer the fastback and a small-block V8, but in the context of 2017 collectible-car values for Mopar, even a Slant Six coupe with unknown mileage might be worth checking out. From the supplied pics, this '69 Cuda looks to be in good condition; if it weren't, the asking price would likely be south of $10,000 – not north. Scarcity's not an issue, so this Barracuda would seem well-suited for the resto-mod treatment (above and beyond the aftermarket hood scoops), while keeping the post-purchase investment as minimal as the original outlay.
