1986 Chrysler Lebaron Convertible on 2040-cars
Clinton, Illinois, United States
Here is my 86 convertible. It has new tires about 2500 miles on them. It runs good could maybe use a tune up. I have been driving to work daily 100 miles round trip so mileage may change. The a/c needs to be charged I took the belt off because it tries to run and makes a whining sound. The radiator, belts, hoses, thermostat, water pump, and alternator have been changed. I also changed the drivers side power window motor. The small back windows would not move both tracks which are made of plastic have broken I also replaced both of those they work like new. The shocks in the rear, brakes front and rear, along with the drums and rotors. Also replaced the shocks for the trunk. This car was my grandpa hate to sell but have to. The cruise, power locks, windows, heater and radio all work. The wipers stopped working and had to replace the bushings from the motor to the wiper arm assembly a few weeks ago. The power seat on drivers side works but something is loose under seat moves some when you sit down. The seats are in ok condition a few cracks on drivers side. The arm rest is a little faded where it says mark cross. The air vent outlet on passenger side is broken also where the sun visors mount in the center the piece is broken off it is a full piece that runs along the top of window inside. The paint is ok there is a few dents and scratches not to bad also one of the center caps of the hub caps is missing. The trunk has some white spots in the paint not sure what that is. The top has a small hole in it and just this year the back window has started to peel at bottom I took a picture of. The top goes up and down as it should. Also the dash works but in the sunlight you can't see like it is on dim? Not sure what the problem is i think the dimmer switch is fine I have a Garmin I use when I can't see the dash. Any other questions just ask would like to see it go to a good home.

Chrysler investing $20M in Toledo plant to support 9-speed auto production
Sun, 28 Apr 2013In 2011, Chrysler announced a $72-million investment in its Toledo Machining Plant to modernize production of the eight- and nine-speed torque-converters for automatic transmissions made there. That upgrade work won't be finished until Q3 of this year, but Chrysler has already announced a further $19.6-million investment to increase production capacity for the nine-speeders.
The extra units will be necessary because the nine-speed transmission they'll be mated to is going into three popular models: it will debut on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, then go into the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart. The company predicted that this year alone it would sell 200,000 units equipped with the nine-speed tranny, and it is spending some $374 million in addition to the investment in Toledo to upgrade production capacity for it.
The work attached to this new investment won't begin until Q3 of 2014, and it will be finished by the end of that year. There's a press release below with all the details.
Jeep Cherokee faces on-sale delay
Sat, 23 Mar 2013A report in The Wall Street Journal looks at some of the obstacles to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that go beyond its mootable yet "very contemporary" looks, almost all of them based on Fiat's financial position. Starting with that sheetmetal, in defense of it SRT president Ralph Gilles and Jeep design head Mark Allen said they wanted to "make sure the design still looks modern five years from now."
The WSJ piece doesn't cite longevity as a factor, instead saying that its features originated in a design for an Alfa Romeo, the transformation into a Jeep design meant allowing Chrysler get it to market more quickly and save "hundreds of millions of dollars" in engineering.
The need for Fiat to save money while it weathers the European situation has cut budgets for development, engineering and the pace of retooling the Toledo, Ohio plant to build the Cherokee. In a familiar case of snowballing at work, among the effects will be pushing back the Cherokee's volume sales date and delaying updates to some of Chrysler's other products.
Chrysler hoons Pacifica minivan, issues recall
Fri, Sep 22 2017Chrysler is recalling about 50,000 Pacifica minivans after finding an issue with a seat belt. According to the NHTSA recall notice, "In certain passenger seating and vehicle situations, the second-row center seating position seat belt buckle could cause the left outboard seat belt to become unlatched." The affected vehicles have the eight-passenger configuration, and includes 47,927 Pacificas in the U.S. from model years 2017 and 2018, plus another 1,908 vehicles in Canada. It appears the problem occurs under spirited driving (or "extreme handling maneuvers"), which is kind of funny, because: minivan. FCA's statement, though, adds a little more clarity. The problem was discovered through Chrysler's own testing, not some dad hooning his minivan on the way to soccer practice. The problem only occurs when there are people sitting in both the center and left outboard seat of the second row. In hard cornering, the left seat belt's release button would come into contact with the center buckle, which caused it to unlatch. FCA will notify owners, and will install a shorter second-row seat belt buckle for free. The automaker is unaware of any injuries related to this issue, but urges customers to "avoid using the second-row center seat in conjunction with the other second-row positions." Better yet, if you're going to autocross your Pacifica this weekend, leave your kids on the sidelines. They're just added weight anyway.
