This beautiful car runs flawlessly and drives enjoyably on the road. All areas of safe operation have been addressed including all new brake shoes, brake hardware, wheel cylinders and brake lines. New FRONT END (upper and lower control arm bushings, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm). New Tires, New Battery, re-cored radiator.
You won’t easily find another one like this one.
RE-CHROMED front and rear bumpers Nice, newer, correct headliner NEW carpet Nice, Driver-quality repaint. Nice and CORRECT seat fabric (SMS) No cracks in Dash-NONE All new U-Joints and driveshaft carrier/bearing All Electroluminescent lights and gauges work. Stainless Steel Roof inserts Nothing Missing-even the medallions over the headlights are there. Power Windows, Seat, Steering, Brakes, Vent Windows, antenna-all work. AC needs Freon. Radio does not work. Chip in windshield (there for years-has not grown). To be 100% the door panels should be re-done. Note that the chassis pictures were taken when the Drive Shaft was removed for repair. You cannot see them but there were some small areas that were a little rusty, so I had them cut out and new metal welded in. I then undercoated the entire undercarriage. Again, these are the BEFORE pictures so you can see that there was VERY little rust to begin with. If you have a question: ASK. If you want to see something: ASK. Thanks. This is MY CAR. It is registered, titled and insured in my name.
Interesting trade (Big Dodge or Chrysler Wagon with Dual AC) considered. |

This 1958 Chrysler Imperial Ultra 7 Pointer 1 is Japan's Batmobile
Sun, 02 Mar 2014It might be sacrilegious to admit among some auto enthusiasts, but there's more to driving than performance and speed. Sometimes it can be a matter of love, as it is for Yasushi Shiroi, who has spent the last 21 years building a faithful replica of a car from a '60s Japanese sci-fi show.
Shiroi's car is the star of the latest video from The Aficionauto and it's truly a labor of love. This machine, which is sort of like a Japanese Batmobile, is based on a 1958 Chrysler Imperial and is designed to recreate a car called the Pointer 1 from the series Ultra 7. The latter was apparently hugely popular when it ran in Japan in 1967 and 1968, and told the story a seven-member team that fought off aliens attacking Earth. While the car in the series never actually ran, Shiroi wanted one that would.
The Pointer 1 has been in constant development since Shiroi has owned it. All of the body modifications have been done in steel, but mechanically, it remains something of a mess. This replica might be slow - and to many people, ugly - but it has brought its owner about as much happiness as a car can, and that's something worth celebrating. Scroll down to check it out.

Chrysler taking big risk snubbing NHTSA
Wed, 05 Jun 2013Maker Insists Feds Overstate Risk Of Fires With Grand Cherokee, Liberty Models
It's not often that recall stories make it above the fold, in that old newspaper parlance, but when one shows up as the lead story on the network evening news programs, you know it's something big.
And so it is with Chrysler snubbing its nose at a request by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to recall 2.7 million Jeeps the feds insist are at risk of potentially catastrophic fuel tank fires in a rear-end collision.
