Chrysler Imperial 4 Door Sedan with HEMI V8 Great Restoration project....this 1955 Imperial Four door Sedan with 39911 miles on odometer, VIN: C55-5851. A Classic Survivor equipped with a 331 cubic inch HEMI V-8, 4-barrel carburetor, Powerflite Transmission, Factory Air Conditioning, Power Windows, 4 Way Power Seat, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Town and Country AM Radio. This Imperial design was limited to only one year and the production was less than 7,850 units. This is truly an American Classic, from the front bumper to the rear, from the Target Front Turn Signal Lights to the Unique Gun Sight Tail Lights. All in all it is a great Restoration project starting point for the price. This car has been in, inside storage for over ten years, it has not been started during that time. I am a serious collector / restorer who has been collecting and restoring MoPar's for over twenty-five years. I needs to clear out most of the cars in my stock that will never be restored. I will be selling off many 1940 to 1957 MoPar’s this fall. Some very rare, if you have any interest in reviewing my inventory list or visiting us here in South San Francisco CA, please give me a call at 650-280-1472 and I will make arrangement for an onsite private tour.

Marchionne to take his sweater and go home after 2018
Wed, 08 Oct 2014The end is in sight for Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne, who confirmed in an interview with Bloomberg that once FCA's sweeping five-year plan is completed, he'd be stepping down from his post to "undoubtedly" do something else that didn't involve turning around global corporations. That would mean he should finish up after 2018 if all goes according to plan.
"It's as important to walk away from the table as it is to sit down," Marchionne told Bloomberg.
Marchionne has been at Fiat since June of 2004 and is one of the chief architects behind the Italian company's acquisition of Chrysler. Despite his successes, he does sound quite ready to move beyond the auto industry, rhetorically asking his Bloomberg interviewers if there "are other things I like to do apart from this?"
Bailout dealership cuts did their job as profits surge
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Almost five years after US taxpayers bailed out General Motors and Chrysler, a large majority of their slimmed-down dealership networks are posting soaring profits, Bloomberg reports, and contributing to the US auto industry on track this year to deliver 15.4 million vehicles, the most since 16.15 million were delivered in 2007.
Consider another important figure: Bloomberg says that more than 90 percent of GM dealerships are profitable, compared to about half of them in 2008 and 2009. At the start of 2013, GM had 4,355 US dealerships and Chrysler had about 2,600. Compare that with just a few years ago, when GM had 6,246 dealers in 2008, while Chrysler had 3,200 in 2009.
As part of their bankruptcy restructuring, both GM and Chrysler decided that their retail networks contained far too many dealerships and insisted that they be slimmed down. The resultant dealership terminations followed by a rebounding auto market - in part due to better new GM and Chrysler vehicles - have increased the number of sales per dealership to record levels. Many dealers are taking advantage of increasing profits and investing in facility renovations and updates, such as Chrysler dealership owner David Kelleher. He's spending $2 million to expand his store.
Move over Audi, now Chrysler has a beef with Tesla's claims
Thu, 23 May 2013In the same week that Audi said "not so fast" to some claims from Tesla, Chrysler has responded to a new press release from the California-based EV-maker by saying "not exactly, Tesla." The statement, released through the company's blog, comes in response to Tesla claiming it was "the only American car company to have fully repaid the government." Chrysler notes that it, too, recently paid back Uncle Sam from its 2008 bailout. Similar to Audi's recent press release, which was eventually and mysteriously deleted from the German automaker's site, Chrysler is both right and wrong in its statement.
Tesla specifically said that it had paid back the Department of Energy loans that many automakers received - including Fisker and VPG Autos - while Chrysler's retort argues Tesla is "unmistakably incorrect" since it repaid the government in 2011 a full six years early. Technically, the statements from both automakers are correct, but Tesla's startup loan originated from the DoE, while Chrysler's loan came in bailout form from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Further, as The Detroit News notes, Chrysler's loan still cost taxpayers well over a billion dollars after all was said and done - those negative assets tied to "old Chrysler" in the bankruptcy did not require repayment.
