1952 Chrysler Imperial 2 Door Hardtop Coupe on 2040-cars
United States
1952 Chrysler Imperial 2-door hardtop in Superior Blue. Originally with Yuma Gray top, as can be seen on the inside of the pillar. Very rare, one of 3450 Imperial hardtops made in 1951/1952. (Chrysler didn't break out the production figures for each year.) Not many left now. 331 hemi V-8, Fluid-Torque semi-automatic with optional torque convertor (as opposed to the standard fluid coupling). Original and unrestored condition. Colorado car with solid body and trunk. The odometer is reading just under 30,000 miles, it probably has flipped over once for actual mileage of 130,000. The old hemi starts readily and pulls the car easily with little effort. The transmission shifts with no problems. Power front windows, wipers, lighting, starting and charging all working as when the car was new. Only the the radio, clock and fuel sending unit are going to need some attention. The power steering makes driving the car nearly effortless, and the power assisted brakes pull the car down in vintage fashion. Both the brake master cylinder and carburetor have recently been rebuilt. This car will need kingpins. That and new tires and it can be driven anywhere. A good rat rod candidate, or restoration project, well worth the effort for this appreciating car.
Included is a copy of the original owner's manual packet. Seller will need to make a deposit of $500 within 3 days of the auction’s end, the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction’s end. Buyer assumes responsibility for shipping. Of course, local pick up is no problem. Thanks for looking, and good luck! |

Work at a Chrysler dealership, get free college education
Mon, May 4 2015The cost of a college education in the US can put a student tens (hundreds, in some cases) of thousands of dollars into debt. FCA US wants to give its dealership employees a leg up, though, and the automaker is now offering a completely free education to them through a partnership with Strayer University. The workers can take any of the college's classes online or on campus through program called Degrees@Work. Currently, the offer is only available to employees Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat dealers in the automaker's Southeast region, which includes Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. However, a national expansion will happen before the end of the year, Strayer spokesperson Cristina Henley tells Autoblog. The program will cover all of the students' expenses, including their books, according to Henley. FCA US sees this partnership as a way to improve the talent of its workforce, retain employees longer and possibly attract people wanting to take advantage of this free education. "Many of our dealers have expressed concern over the availability of talent to fill open positions due to business growth and turnover in their stores, especially in metro markets," Al Gardner, the company's Head of Dealer Network Development, said in the Degrees@Work announcement. Strayer has about 40 programs available, including in business administration, accounting, marketing, and more, and the university offers associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. It will also give FCA US employees credit for their work experience to get them a diploma even more quickly.
