I received a question about the Temp Tag, here's my answer. "Here in Florida I was allowed to transfer my plate to a newly purchased vehicle thereby saving almost $300 in registration fees. So the plate from my Crossfire went to my Liberty." ************ Offered today is my one-owner, well maintained and dealer serviced Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6. Also, this car has never been smoked in as long as I've owned it. No evidence of smoking during the first 19 miles either. Replaced the following:
Has new tires as well: TOYO PROXES T1 Sport
About the SRT-6 The Crossfire is a rear-wheel drive sports car that was sold by Daimler Chrysler's Chrysler marque. The car was built for DaimlerChrysler by Karmann in Germany and shared 39% of its components, with other Mercedes models. 80% of the car's part content is from Germany. The chassis is a combination of a modified C-class engine compartment, Pre 2003 CLK floor pan, S-Class rear linkages and new stampings for the side rails and rear. Interior is basically a first gen SLK class Mercedes. It was available as a coup'e and as a roadster. The car first arrived in the public spotlight as a concept car and was put into production in 2003. Its designer was Eric Stoddard. Flagging sales due to non-existent marketing hindered the car throughout its production run, and the Crossfire was discontinued for 2007. The SRT-6 was a one year only model produced in 2005 (add a handful of cars for 2006) with a total of 3,149 coupes/roadsters produced. The SRT-6 has a supercharged V-6 putting out 330 hp and 330 ft·lb of torque. It is the same Mercedes Benz AMG Handbuilt engine from the SLK32 AMG and C32 AMG. Upgrades from the standard Crossfire found in the SRT-6 include suspension, brakes, wheels, and cosmetics. The spring rates have been stiffened almost 50 percent in the front and 42 percent in the rear, and jounce and rebound rates in the shocks have been firmed up to match. The front brake rotors grow 1.2 inches to 13.0, and the rear discs go vented and get another 0.9 inch of diameter. Special SRT wheels which are 18 inches in front, 19 in the rear. The SRT-6 only comes with the Autostick transmission. The SRT has a fixed spoiler compared to the automatic retractable wing on the other models. The SRT also has a modified front end which includes a front spoiler. Interior includes a 200-mph speedo and Alcantara pseudo-suede trim on the buckets that is embroidered with an SRT-6 logo. 0 to 60 mph times are in the high 4 second range to the low 5 second range depending on what Auto Magazine you read. The SRT-6 has the following amenities:
Update: Remember, this is a SRT6, which is a different animal when compared to other Crossfires (100 more HP for starters).
I have to say that, of the many cars I've owned throughout the years this one, by far, is the most fun. |

Ferrari families have 'agreement' to prevent takeover
Thu, Oct 22 2015With its initial public offering already a massive success, Ferrari is now officially a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. While anyone can buy those shares, don't expect investors to take control away from some of the top owners of the Prancing Horse anytime soon. To maintain their power, Enzo Ferrari's son, Piero, and Exor chairman John Elkann will sign a deal guaranteeing themselves nearly half of the automaker's voting rights, Bloomberg reports. As part of this arrangement, shareholders that agree to hang onto Ferrari stock for at least three years would receive additional voting rights in the company, and that would give Piero and Elkann a combined 48.7 percent of the automaker by banding together. While not quite complete control, the move should be enough to prevent a takeover of the business. "We have an agreement among the families to protect our interests in Ferrari," Piero said to Bloomberg. This agreement won't really become a concern until next year because only 10 percent of Ferrari will be traded for now. FCA will distribute another 80 percent to its shareholders in early 2016, and Elkann's Exor will be getting the largest portion of the Prancing Horse in the spin-off. Meanwhile, Piero holds the remaining 10 percent but has absolutely no intention to sell his stake in his father's business. The newly public Ferrari will push to grow volume with a goal of moving 9,000 vehicles annually by 2019. To reach that 30-percent boost, expect to see a new model every year, and some of them might use a new, modular platform that's reportedly under development. Related Video:
Dodge to resurrect Scat Pack?
Fri, 27 Sep 2013Before social media ever existed, if automotive enthusiasts wanted to be noticed or recognize other fans, they joined a car club. For Dodge muscle car lovers from 1968 through 1971, that group was known as the Scat Pack. Just like the Charger, Challenger and Dart nameplates, it looks like the Scat Pack could be getting a resurrection by Chrysler.
Automotive News is reporting that Chrysler recently renewed its trademark on the Scat Pack name, and while this is in no way a guarantee that the name will return, AN talked to Tim Kuniskis, Dodge President and CEO, who stoked the fire a little more. In the article, Kuniskis said that the name is "a very important part of our history" and added that "we like the whole idea of having a Scat Pack of cars." Scat Pack models were identified by their bumblebee stripes and helmet-wearing bumblebee logo, and the idea of a modern Scat Pack doesn't seem all that outlandish in light of recent vehicles like the Charger SRT Super Bee and the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee Concept.
What do you think, is this a cool idea, or is it just an unwelcome bit of nostalgia? Have you say in Comments.
Fiat talking with banks about buying rest of Chrysler
Wed, 13 Feb 2013All that stands in the way of Fiat's total ownership of Chrysler is a 41.5-percent stake currently held by the United Auto Workers healthcare trust, but according to SFGate.com, Sergio Marchionne is currently trying to raise the capital to complete the acquisition. The article says that a deal could be completed in as soon as 12 months, and the estimate for the remaining stake could cost Fiat SpA around $2.98 billion.
With a goal of completing the deal by the end of 2014, Marchionne is said to be in talks with various banks to help finance some of the deal. According to the report, the banks have indicated a need for a stronger balance sheet, controlled debt and reserve cash.
Two things that don't seem to be on the table to get the deal completed include issuing new shares to raise the capital or selling a stake in Ferrari. Fiat started with a 20 percent share of Chrysler in June 2009, and it raised its stake up to 58.5 percent in January 2012.
