2006 Chrysler Crossfire Limited Roadster; 36k Miles; Aero Blue; Just Like New! on 2040-cars
Meridian, Idaho, United States
This beautiful, sporty
little car is (in my opinion) one of the most mis-understood and overlooked
values on the market today. The car has a rather unique “pedigree” in that it
was built and marketed during the model years 2004 through 2008 during the time
when Chrysler and Daimler Benz had merged and were attempting to cooperate on
vehicle design and marketing. This merger did not work well for many reasons,
but cars like the Crossfire were the “victims” of this mis-matched “marriage”.
They were not marketed well and suffered from poor sales volume as a result.
The Crossfire itself was a wonderful vehicle! It was (and
still is) a very good looking and performing car built entirely on the Mercedes
SLK320 Chassis and Drivetrain with Chrysler contributing only the body design
(which was actually built by Karmann in Germany…more confusion) and the car was
assembled in Germany for sales around the world. To me, it is one striking little sports car that
never received the acclaim that it was worthy of!
This particular example of the car is an amazing machine!
It is the 2006 roadster (convertible) model with the Limited package (meaning
it was the fanciest model offered). It has accumulated only 36,200 miles, all
put on the car by the original owner, and has the original “aero blue” paint
with a contrasting 2-tone gray leather interior, both in near perfect
condition. Everything about this car is original and it has been maintained
religiously…even the original wheels are flawless! It was sold new locally and
driven very sparingly and only in good weather. It is loaded with all of the
options including dual climate control, Infinity stereo system, heated seats,
home link system, 6 speed manual transmission, and a host of other niceties
that one wouldn’t expect to find on a small “sports car”! The Mercedes V-6
engine in the car makes it amazingly fast, and its suspension and chassis
attributes make it stick to the road like glue! It is an absolute blast to
drive, and it runs, drives, and even looks like a brand new car! In my opinion,
there has never been a finer looking and performing sports car on the road, and
everywhere I go I get questions and compliments about it. This has to be one of
the finest examples available! It even has a custom set of luggage (with the
Crossfire logo) that was designed specifically for the car to take maximum
advantage of the limited storage space in the trunk!
The fine
print: Despite the remarkable, original condition of this vehicle, it IS a used
car and is sold as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. Any offer
to buy this car will be construed as a commitment by the person making the
offer to complete the purchase. If there are any questions at all about the
car, please ask them before submitting your offers. I will assist any
transporter in the loading of the car, but any necessary transportation costs
and arrangements shall be the responsibility of the buyer. Payment for the car
will have to be completed before any delivery takes place, and fund transfer
will have to be in the form of bank wire transfer within 3 days of the close of
the sale. I will assist as best I can to make this an easy transaction, but it
will be very business-like for both parties protection. Also, the car is listed
for sale in several other venues, so I reserve the right to end this auction at
any time if the car becomes unavailable.

PSA unions vote in favor of merger with Fiat Chrysler
Tue, Nov 19 2019PARIS — The majority of unions representing workers at Peugeot maker PSA are in favor of a planned $50 billion merger with Fiat Chrysler, PSA executives and union representatives said. However, the unions said that once the merger deal was signed, they would be seeking detailed information about the plans for the combined company. At a PSA works council meeting, all trade union representatives on the council voted to give a favorable opinion on the merger. "We will remain vigilant about the social impact and await a clearer and more detailed picture of the plan's implications for plants, volume, and how much work will be given to the foundries," said Franck Don, representative of the CFTC union. "But the project in the form it's been presented makes sense because the two groups complement each other, are in good financial health, and thanks to the new format will attain a critical size which is vital in the auto business today." The merger would help the firms pool resources to meet tough new emissions rules and investments in electric and self-driving vehicles, as well as counter a broader downturn in car markets. Securing support from Europe's powerful trade unions will be critical for the merged company, which will employ more than 400,000 staff and operate hundreds of factories worldwide. The deal has stirred concerns in Germany and Britain where plants making Opel and Vauxhall cars have seen jobs cut in recent year as part of a cost-cutting drive. Dodge not being dropped by Chrysler, CEO reaffirms
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Dodge isn't going anywhere. Despite some rumor and speculation over the future of the crosshair grille and the cars that wear it, Dodge brand boss, Tim Kuniskis, sat down with TheDetroitBureau.com, explaining that the marque isn't going anywhere. His sentiments echo those of SRT boss Ralph Gilles, who told a group of enthusiasts in July that "Dodge is here to stay!"
Dodge's death won't be "a part of a master plan to consolidate brands," Kuniskis told TheDetroitBureau.com. Instead, the brand, which is ultimately under the command of Fiat/Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne, will likely ditch some of its badge-engineered models, like the Dodge Grand Caravan. A more focused Dodge, which was something Gilles has already hinted at, will likely see it exploring areas of the market that haven't been exploited by other Chrysler brands.
Kuniskis, not surprisingly, wasn't willing to delve into any detailed product plans, telling TDB that the size of the brand's lineup "remains to be seen." Regardless of how big the brand actually ends up being (it is presently Chrysler's volume brand - and not by a little), hopefully the statements from Kuniskiss can put the rumors of a Dodge closure to bed.
eBay Find of the Day: 1979 Chrysler ETV-1 electric car prototype
Mon, 27 Jan 2014Electric cars may be reaching their time in the sun with successes like the Tesla Model S, but the basic concept goes back to practically beginning of motoring. EVs also saw a brief renaissance in the 1970s when automakers were trying find a way around rising fuel prices. This 1979 Chrysler ETV-1 concept for sale on eBay Motors is a great example from that era.
Built in 1979, designers hoped the ETV-1 would preview what an electric car would look like in 1985. The base price was slated to start at $6,400, or the rough equivalent of $20,536, which seems like an optimistic price. General Electric created the ETV-1's powertrain, and Chrysler was in charge of styling. At the time, the Department of Energy called it "the first advanced four-passenger subcompact experimental electric car."
While it seems ancient compared to today's EVs, the ETV-1 featured regenerative braking and a computer-controlled electric motor. Chrysler reported a 100-mile range at 45 miles per hour with two passengers in the car. The range fell to 75 miles with four passengers. Acceleration was not brisk with Chrysler claiming the run to 30 mph in 9 seconds. Power was stored in 18 lead-acid batteries, and a full charge took 10 hours from a home outlet.
