Unboxing Chrysler's ridiculous Pacifica board game/media kit
Sat, Jan 30 2016At auto shows, manufacturers often hand out new-model info on USB sticks. It's how we get the press releases and photos onto our computers quickly and easily. Some still use brochures, which direct you to a website to download the relevant files. And then there's Chrysler, which often dreams up elaborate packages to transport the information and make a big impact. That's what it did for the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, which made its debut in gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions at the 2016 North American International Auto Show earlier this month. The Pacifica press kit is in a zippered folder along with the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Race to the Family Reunion board game. To share this with you, we decided to make use of one of the internet's stranger formats, the unboxing video. Fiat-Chrysler shows its SEMA lineup
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles already previewed its 2014 SEMA show lineup with some slick renders. Now, the automaker has finally showed us the actual cars, and among the group there are definitely some that stand out more than others.
Dodge is really showing off its muscle at this year's show with four concepts that all pump up the power of the brand's models. Perhaps most interesting among them is the Challenger T/A Concept (pictured above) in striking Sublime Green and matte black. It's meant to resemble the classic Trans Am racer from the '70s. Under the hood is a 6.4-liter V8, and to fit the vintage style there's a pistol-grip gearshift inside.
The Charger R/T also gets some attention with the Mopar concept that shows off what FCA's aftermarket performance arm can do. Mods include an updated body kit, cold-air intake for the 5.7-liter V8 and a coil-over suspension kit. Beyond that, the Dart R/T Concept looks a lot meaner with a black hood with duct work that leads straight to the air intake. The rest of the compact sedan is dolled up in O-So-Orange paint and is fitted with upgrades to improve handling like a coil-over suspension and big brake kit from the Mopar catalog.
Chrysler recalling 49K Chargers for headlight components
Fri, 14 Mar 2014Chrysler has issued a recall for about 49,375 2011 and 2012 Dodge Chargers with halogen headlamps due to a problem with the lights. The automaker says that there could be an issue with the jumper harness and other related components.
The automaker says that 43,450 cars are affected in the US, 2,850 in Canada, 375 in Mexico and 2,700 outside of North America. The vehicles will have their headlight assemblies, including the jumper harnesses and bulbs, inspected and potentially replaced. Dodge says that its engineers investigated reports of that were similar to what was found when it recalled about 10,000 police Chargers in 2012 for overheating light components. There have been no injuries or accidents related to fault, according to Chrysler.
The automaker will be in contact with affected owners, and schedule the service. Naturally, any repairs will be free of charge. Scroll down for the company's full announcement.
