This listing is for our 2008 Chrysler Sebring LX Convertible, car located in Newton, NJ 07860. Car is in nice shape but does have a few dings and such. Everything works as it is supposed to. No issues with engine, transmission, or anything else. Additionally, this car has a good sounding stereo system.  A very nice riding and handling car with lots of power and gets very good gas mileage, too. This has been a very reliable car. Only reason we are selling it is because we currently have too many cars in our household. Front bumper has some minor cracks and scuffs from bumping a snowbank last winter, but is an easy and low cost fix. Interior needs a good cleaning, but we will have the car properly cleaned and detailed inside and out prior to the winning bidder taking possession of the car. Also, the rear passenger airbag that was mounted in the back of the passenger seatback had been accidentally deployed, so please know that that particular airbag has been removed and is currently not in place.

The reserve price of this car is set lower than book value.  We strongly encourage all serious bidders to come inspect the car prior to bidding. Although this has been a very reliable car for us, please know that it is a used car and is being sold as-is, except that we will be having the car properly cleaned immediately after the sale.

A $500.00 deposit via Paypal within 24 hrs is required, with the balance of purchase payable in cash is due within 3 days of auction end.

Chrysler recalling 278,222 trucks and SUVs over bad rear axles

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall of 278,222 light trucks and sport utility vehicles here in the United States. The reason: bad rear axles. Specifically, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear axle pinion nut may lack a necessary adhesive patch, which could cause the nut to loosen. If this happens, the axle can lock up, which could cause all sorts of havoc on the road.
This is an expansion of the rear axle recall announced in October of last year, where 44,300 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota models were being called in. At that time, 12 accidents had been reported due to the faulty axle pinion nut.
Affected vehicles include Ram 1500 trucks from the 2009 to 2012 model years, Dodge Dakota models from the 2009 to 2011 model years, and both the Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUV twins, both from the 2009 model year only.

Strike looms for FCA workers as soon as Wednesday night

Wed, Oct 7 2015

A strike is on the very near horizon for at least some United Auto Workers members at FCA US. On October 6, the union sent a letter to the automaker that officially announced the termination of its agreements with the company as of 11:59 PM on Wednesday, October 7. Assuming that a deal or extension hasn't happened by that time, workers could hit the picket line. While neither side is talking much publicly, it does appear that negotiations are still underway. In a very brief statement, the automaker simply says: "FCA US confirms that it has received strike notification from the UAW. The Company continues to work with the UAW in a constructive manner to reach a new agreement." The UAW seems equally receptive, and it says in a post on Facebook: "Negotiations with FCA continue. Your bargaining team is hard at work and we will continue to post updates when there is more to report." If a strike happens, it could put a serious financial burden on FCA US. Economist Sean McAlinden from the Center for Automotive Research estimates the cost at as much as $40 million per week, according to Reuters. The union hasn't clarified at this time whether all of its workers with the automaker would stop working or if the picket lines would only be at specific plants. The first tentative agreement posted to UAW members working with FCA US utterly failed in voting. Raises and a healthcare co-op would have been among the new benefits. However, the employees were upset that the proposed deal retained a two-tier wage structure, and they also didn't like the lack of details about rumors of major production changes.
