*The picture above does not reflect the busted out  back windshield, please see the other updated picture.

Great everyday car, reliable and has many new parts (belts, breaks,  tires at 75%,pump), leather seats, power everything, windows, huge  drunk, full backseat, power sunroof and more. The only mechanical  issue at this time is that it needs a fuel pump installed (which  this auction comes with the part and its installed thru the back  seat which is a breeze).  The body is a chameleon wrap (few  months old) that changes from purple to blue which looks awesome.   The interior is also restored and is in really great shape.. leather  seats (only one small hole in the back, not very noticeable).. no  rips or tears in the rest.  Dash looks great but has a crack in  the back that you can see from one of the pictures.

So why am I selling this so cheap?  Because I bought it 6  months ago to film 'how to flip a car'.. so I put this wrap on and I  can't get anyone to help me finish it.. then I let it sit too long  so the fuel pump goes out.. and THE DAY I get the fuel pump in a  tree falls on it.  Its pretty hard to show people how to flip a  car when a tree goes thru it before the last film day.  I'm too  old for misadventure projects, I don't need the money, and my  patience is beyond gone with this particular interest of mine.   I'm willing to trade the whole project car for a McDouble and call  it a day so the highest bid wins and I DONT CARE if it goes for $1..  its yours!  The body was not even scratched by the tree branch  but it took the back windshield out.  The body is really  awesome though -- unique & beautiful purple to blue chameleon body,  premium chrome rims. Never been in a major car wreck and oil changed  every 3000 miles.  The car does need the oil / filters changed  pretty soon, as its been sitting for a while.

THIS is the CHEAPEST vehicle on the market hands down.  For  what this is going to sell for I'm positive you won't be able to buy  a car with this year, mileage, or condition and all it needs is  about 30 minutes installing a fuel pump and around 3 hours of wrap  work (which ANYONE can do without experience.. I put this wrap on  myself and I had no idea what I was doing).  You could even pay  someone $50 on craigslist to finish it and put the pump in haha.    The body is amazing but it does have a small crack on the front  bumper but its so low that its not very noticeable.  The dash  also has a crack in it.  If your willing to put in a little  work then you will save a MINT.    The truck DOES  close.. I just had it open for the picture for some reason or  another.  The AC does blow but I'm sure actually sure if it  blows cold as the only time I have driven this was when I picked it  up in the Winter but I might test and update this listing later.   When I picked this car up I drove it +200 miles without any issues  at all.  You won't find cars with blown engines, major body  damage, or even tore out seats that will sell CHEAPER this this  auction so make this your next vehicle.  If you want a car that  looks new both on the outside and the inside and you don't want to  pay ANYTHING for.. then this is it.

Will I be showing this car?  Yes.. but only if the price  goes over $1,000.  For under $1k its not worth showing since  you could sell the tires and crush it and make your money back.   It will be located in Johnson City near Science Hill, just message  me and you will receive the address.

What Needs To Be Done To This Car

Install The Fuel Pump To Get It Running  (Parts Included)

Finish the chameleon wrap (about 3 hours of work) which you don't need any  'skill' or tools to do. (The Wrap & Tools are Included)

Call to Install A New Back Windshield ($300 for parts/labor or about  $50 if you do it yourself, you have to buy the windshield).

Read Before You Bid

The car does not run so you will need to tow  it.  If you believe you can get it running then you can leave  it on the properly for 72 hours while you get it fixed.  Tow  it, drag it, push it home.. doesn't matter to me.

There is a crack in the dash, one in the front  bumper, it needs the fuel pump installed, the wrap finished, and a  back windshield purchased & installed.

The title is CLEAN and in hand.

The car is being sold AS-IS.  The car was  fully running before I let it sit for well over a month, had a  mechanic look at it and the fuel pump is dead which fits the signs  so pretty confident its the only issue keeping it from running.

So What Is It Worth?

Here is a snap shop of bluebook saying a fair purchase price in  'good' condition.. which I would rank it in excellent condition if  the windshield wasn't the victim of a tree.  Bluebook says  $3371-$4022.   You need $300 to professionally replace the  windshield or about $50-100 to buy it do it yourself.  You  should be able to install the fuel pump yourself as its super easy  to get to.

A Simple search on auto trader in the area doesn't  have too many matches but its showing 2002 (with less miles ranging  near the $4k mark).

Same on craigslist.. but take into consideration  with less miles and a windshield..

So what is the cost of my car?  I'm selling  it for less then a cup of coffee.  I think thats a deal!

PS:  If I don't get a $1 bid on this then I'm  installing the fuel pump and driving it straight to the crusher and  putting the video on Youtube.

What will the next Presidential limo look like?

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

With recent news that the Secret Service has begun soliciting proposals for a new armored limousine, we've been wondering what the next presidential limo might look like. The current machine, nicknamed "The Beast", has a design based on a car that's no longer sold: the Cadillac DTS. If General Motors gets the job again, which wouldn't be a surprise considering the government still owns a chunk of the company, the next limo's shape would likely resemble the new XTS (below, left). But Cadillac hasn't always been the go-to car company for presidential whips.
Lincoln has actually provided far more presidential limousines throughout history than Cadillac. In fact, the first car modified for Commander-in-Chief-carrying duty was a 1939 Lincoln K-Series called "Sunshine Special" used by Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the last Lincoln used by a president was a 1989 Town Car ordered for George H.W. Bush. If President Obama wanted a Lincoln today, it would likely be an amalgam of the MKS sedan and MKT crossover, as illustrated above.
And what about Chrysler? The only record we could find of a President favoring the Pentastar is Nixon, who reportedly ordered two limos from the company during his administration in the '70s, and then another one, known today as the "K-Car limo," in the '80s after he left office. Obama, however, has a personal - if modest - connection to Chryslers, having owned a 300 himself before he took office. A 300-based Beast (above, right) would certainly earn the U.S. some style points.

Killing the Dart and 200 might lower FCA's fuel economy burden

Tue, Feb 9 2016

Killing the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 could allow FCA US to take advantage of an intriguing quirk in the next decade's fuel economy regulations. By increasing its ratio of trucks versus cars, the automaker might not need to worry so much about hitting the more stringent efficiency rules. At first thought, it might seem harder for an automaker with a ton of trucks to meet the government's mandated 54.5 mile per gallon corporate average fuel economy for 2025. However, every company doesn't need to hit that lofty figure, according to The Detroit Free Press. The exact target varies by the product mix between trucks and cars. "While passenger car and light truck categories have separate CAFE targets, it's still true that more trucks versus cars in a company lineup means a lower combined CAFE target," Brandon Schoettle, Project Manager Sustainable Worldwide Transportation at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute, told Autoblog. "While passenger car and light truck categories have separate CAFE targets, it's still true that more trucks versus cars in a company lineup means a lower combined CAFE target." FCA US' current product blend has 80 percent pickups and CUVs, which means the company stands to benefit from a lower fuel economy target. It might not seem entirely fair environmentally, but this is a great move from a business perspective. The new CAFE rules aren't set in stone, according to The Detroit Free Press, but potentially taking advantage of the regulation is just one more reason to cut the Dart and 200. Modern crossovers also aren't gas guzzlers like older SUVs, which could make it easier to hit the fuel economy target. "Utilities offer practicality and versatility that cars do not, and now, built on car architectures, they do not penalize consumers on fuel economy as they once did," AutoTrader Senior Analyst Michelle Krebs told Autoblog. Schoettle warns that FCA is still making a gamble by killing the small sedans. "Depending on the previous sales volumes and how much these vehicles might have exceeded their specific CAFE targets, it's possible that these cars helped earn CAFE credits for FCA that they could bank for future use," he said. "Future sales breakdowns [car vs.

FCA chairman confirms Marchionne email to Barra

Sat, May 30 2015

FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne is apparently backing up his talk about the need for consolidation in the auto industry with quite a bit of action. One recent report claimed that he even emailed General Motors CEO Mary Barra to make a deal. FCA chairman John Elkann has now confirmed that the correspondence actually happened, and that it wasn't a one-off occurrence. "It was not the only email, it was not the only conversation," Elkann (pictured above with Marchionne) said, according to Reuters. He is a member of the Agnelli family that has a controlling stake in FCA's stock and is supporting the idea of a merger. The automaker is willing to "act with determination if there are the prerequisites to do something that makes sense," Elkann said. Marchionne has been pushing for industry consolidation for months. While GM has been the main target of late, Ford was also rumored as a partner under consideration. In the past, there have also been reports of FCA negotiating with Volkswagen Group and PSA Peugeot Citroen for mergers, as well. According to Reuters, part of the reason for all of this effort might be as a way for Marchionne to ensure his legacy, though he's denied that. He's reportedly considering retiring after 2018. In his opinion, consolidation is needed because automakers are investing too much money to achieve the same goals. The situation would be better after mergers, and he predicts something to happen before 2018.
