1970 Chrysler Newport Custom 383 V8 Automatic, Air Conditioning Jeff 701-609-1557 Hello, and welcome to my eBay listing. I have an all original, all matching numbers car with great options too. The original owner of this Chrysler Newport was a little old lady in North Dakota and when she could no longer drive a local farmer purchased it. It is a 1970 with a 383 V8 2 Barrel Carburetor. It really moves! It has an automatic transmission and air conditioning and power steering and brakes. The caretaker of the car used it as a once a week type driver. I put a new battery in it and put all new plugs and cap and rotor and plug wires and completed a compression test of all the cylinders and all is in good shape. It starts right up but the carb will need a good cleaning or rebuild. No smoke no drips no overheating.. Just a smooth running 383.. The transmission was smooth and perfect too. The brakes and suspension are good. The under body is in great condition but the exhaust does have a leak in it. The bad is really all cosmetic and mostly only on the interior. The paint is pretty fair for the most part. with a few worn spots. There is a dent/scrape on the rear passenger side. but the rest will polish out pretty well. The chrome is all in great shape except for a trim piece on the front grill. The interior is all factory and needs a good cleaning. The radio is original. The carpet is a bit tired. A little ArmorAll would go a long way on the interior areas. So that’s the story.. A good start to an easy restoration or a pretty cool and unique cruiser as it is. The miles are 67, 039. I wouldn’t call the car rusty, but there are some light rust spots here and there. The floors and frame are solid. The rear window has a little rust around the rear right corner. This Chrysler Newport has a ton of vintage appeal and will surely be one to hold on to for future appreciation. Here are my rules. #1. Only bid if you have intentions to buy. #2. Ask any and all questions before bidding. #3. Please contact me BEFORE BIDDING if you have zero or negative feedback. #4. This is an AS-IS sale. I have done my best to describe it exactly as I see it but it has no warranties or guarantees. #5. I will not accept Pay-Pal for the balance payment of the Chrysler Newport. Pay-Pal is for the deposits only, the balance must be paid by certified check or wire. Legitimate and legal buyers only please. Just be real and genuine and I will make sure that the winning bidder is happy with his or her purchase. I reserve the right to end early for the right offer so let me know what you are thinking. I’m Jeff my Phone number is 701-609-1557

Germany threatens to ban FCA vehicles over diesel emissions dispute
Tue, May 24 2016Germany is threatening to ban sales of FCA products over diesel emissions. According to the newspaper Bild Am Sonntag, Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority found evidence of a so-called defeat device that shuts down certain emissions controls after running for 22 minutes. A standard diesel emissions test in the European Union reportedly takes 20 minutes to complete. FCA denies the allegations. "We believe all our vehicles respect EU emissions standards and we believe Italian regulators are the competent authority to evaluate this," the company said in a statement. The latter part of that statement drew ire from German authorities, especially after FCA declined to meet with German transport minister Alexander Dobrindt to discuss the issue. Graziano Delrio, the Italian Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, vowed to work with German authorities on behalf of FCA. According to EU law, FCA is required to homologate its vehicles in Italy because that's where its regional operations are based. When will the diesel-scented soap opera end? We wish we knew, but our Magic 8 Ball is covered in soot. Fiat shareholders green-light Chrysler merger, end of an Italian era
Fri, 01 Aug 2014Fiat has just taken a major step away from its Italian heritage, as shareholders officially approved the company's merger with Chrysler. That move will lead to the formation of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, a Dutch company based in Great Britain and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, according to Automotive News Europe.
The company captured the two-thirds majority at a special shareholders meeting, although there are still a few situations that could defeat the movement. According to ANE, roughly eight percent of shareholders opposed the merger, which is a group large enough to defeat the plan, should they all exercise their exit rights outlined in the merger conditions.
Meanwhile, Fiat Chairman John Elkann (pictured above, right, with CEO Sergio Marchionne and Ferrari Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo), the great-great-grandson of Fiat founder Giovanni Agnelli, reaffirmed his family's commitment to the company beyond the merger. Exor, the Agnelli family's holding company, still maintains a 30-percent stake in Fiat.
Chrysler Recalls 350K Vehicles To Fix Ignition Switches
Thu, Sep 25 2014Chrysler is recalling nearly 350,000 cars and SUVs to fix ignition switches that could unexpectedly shut off the engines. The recall covers 2008 Jeep Commander and Grand Cherokee SUVs, Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger sedans, and Dodge Magnum wagons. All were built before May 12, 2008. Chrysler says the ignitions may not fully return to the "on" position after being started. The switches could move to "accessory" or "off." That could shut off the engine and knock out power-assisted steering and other features. Chrysler knows of one crash and no injuries from the problem. It's telling people to use the key alone in the ignition and confirm that switches have returned to "on" after starting their cars. Chrysler is investigating the cause. Customers will be notified when repairs are ready. Related Gallery The Trucks And SUVs Consumers Are Liking Most View 11 Photos
