A CLASSIC 1977 CHRYSLER NEW YORKER BROUGHAM EQUIPPED WITH THE FAMOUS 440 CID / 4-BARREL CARB. COMBO ! THIS VEHICLE IS LEGALLY ON THE ROAD AND IS DRIVEN A COUPLE OF TIMES A WEEK. SINCE PURCHASED, MANY REPAIRS AND UPDATES HAVE BEEN PERFORMED INCLUDING MAJOR EXHAUST WORK, FRONT END, BATTERY, U-JOINTS, REBUILT CARBURETOR, PARTIALLY REBUILT DISTRIBUTOR, MINOR COOLING SYSTEM WORK, RECENT POWER STEERING REPAIR, MORE! FUN WEEKEND CAR AND ROADWORTHY! CLOCKED AN HONEST 16 MPG WHEN DRIVEN MODERATELY UNDER 65 MPH. MORE LIKE 12 MPG AROUND TOWN, BUT ONE DOES NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE LIKE THIS CLASSIC CAR FOR TOP MILEAGE! THIS CAR NEEDS PAINT AND BODY RESTORATION AND MANY OF THE PAINT ISSUES ARE NOT EVIDENT IN THE PHOTOS. COME LOOK! MAY BE SEEN IN DERRY, NH WHICH IS IN SOUTHEAST NH ABOUT 1 HOUR NORTH OF BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS. OFFERED AS-IS, AS SHOWN WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.

Although this vehicle is entirely driveable, several points need addressing for a full restoration. However, a full-up restoration may not necessarily be desired if you are looking for only a fun head-turning week-end Classic Car. Flaking paint with surface rust is evident around the rear deck, drivers side door, and some spots on lower panels. Some of the power windows no longer operate, could be a simple switch issue. The gas gauge is intermittent, but operates when more gas is pumped - probably a sticky float. The motor for the hidden headlights is inoperative (may be flipped manually). Well, that's the disclaimer ! The asking price reflects the fact that some work will be needed to bring this classic beauty to road rally condition. NADA shows a value of well over $6,000.00 if paint and body / mechanics were nearly perfect. Heck, the drive train alone is worth the asking price ! Please call 603-247-4759 for questions and directions. Or email using the ebay system. Sold as-is, as shown with no warranty expressed or implied.

Chrysler's completely redesigned 200 caught totally uncovered

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

Preparing for a big debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month, the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 was out for a late-night photo shoot fully undisguised, and our spy shooters were there to capture its all-new design completely uncovered. While there's no camouflage, the cover of darkness proved to be almost as effective, but we still get a good idea of what this former sore spot in the brand's lineup will look like after its clean-sheet redesign.
The first thing we notice is the stylish four-door-coupe roofline doing its best to impersonate something like the Audi A7, or maybe the Volkswagen CC. The front-end styling is a departure from recent Chrysler designs with narrow headlights and an equally short, chrome-trimmed grille. In profile, the bullet-nosed 200 is somewhat reminiscent of the Tesla Model S. This new design language should definitely help the 200 get noticed in a segment filled with hot sellers like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, as well as more stylish offerings like the Ford Fusion and Mazda6.
Our spies also caught up with the 200 testing in daylight and got some good shots of the interior. The instrument panel design looks similar to what is found in the Dodge Dart, including the oversized instrument gauges and possibly even the LED accent lighting. We would have to assume - and hope - this prototype is a test model due to its small touchscreen display, as Chrysler's 8.4-inch screen would look much better in its place. The center stack and console are clean with minimal buttons and knobs, but we do see a rotary gear selector, which may confirm reports from last year that suggested the 200 will use a nine-speed automatic transmission to help hit 38 miles per gallon on the highway.

I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep

Thu, 30 May 2013

The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.

Fiat Chrysler, surprise, had to buy a lot of emissions credits

Sun, Dec 27 2015

The world of carbon emissions uses some unusual units of measure. Take, for example, 8.2 million megagrams. Who needs to know how much that is? Someone at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, that's who. FCA had to buy that many greenhouse-gas emissions credits from greener automakers, Reuters says, citing a report from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Because its vehicles' collective fuel economy continues to trail the industry average, FCA purchased the emissions credits at of the end of 2014 in order to meet US emissions regulations. About two-thirds of those credits were acquired from Toyota, while the rest were purchased from Tesla and Honda. Daimler and Ferrari, not surprisingly, were among the other automobile companies that had to acquire emissions credits in order to meet US greenhouse gas regulations. Because the price for these credits is set privately by the companies, the EPA didn't disclose how much FCA had to pay to stay on the green side. The reason for the millions FCA likely spent is because the company is making a slow progress building and selling cleaner cars. The company did increase average fuel efficiency by about one mile per gallon to almost 22 mpg for the 2015 model year, but it wasn't enough. Such a performance likely only put the automaker in a last-place tie with General Motors. The emissions credits purchased from Tesla are notable because that California-based maker of electric vehicles has long generated substantial revenue by selling various credits to its less-electrified counterparts. In 2013, Tesla sold more of California's ZEV credits than any other automaker, but Nissan took that title in 2014. While these are not the same as the EPA's GHG credits, they do offer another way to track which automakers are meeting the targets and which need help.
