1969 Chrysler New Yorker on 2040-cars
Foxboro, Massachusetts, United States
This is a very nice 1969 Chrysler New Yorker - 4 Door - L code car with Original HP440 (375 HP engine) Y3 yellow exterior & F5 green interior. The engine was rebuilt about 15,000 miles ago and I have the detailed receipt of what was done. I fully believe this car is still wearing its original paint and still has its original interior in it in very nice condition. I'm not an expert on survivor cars so I encourage you to come and inspect it yourself or ask me for any additional pictures you may need to confirm that fact. The car is loaded. Power seats, cruise control, power windows and electric door locks, etc... The car was originally from California and has no rot from what I can see. There is some light surface rust starting here and there but nothing major at all. It starts right up and runs and drives very well. The brakes work well and the transmission shifts very well. This car is very road worthy and was on the road when I bought it recently and still has a current Mass inspection sticker and I have a Mass title for it.
A few things I noticed it needs. It will need front lower ball joints, the left turn signal doesn't work consistently, the windshield washer reservoir is in the trunk and not connected, and the previous owner told me that the heater doesn't work well. The interior is very nice with no rips or major wear. The only things that don't appear original is the new Holley carburetor (original is in the trunk) & there is an aftermarket stereo in it (original is in the trunk). I bought this car with intentions of pulling the rebuilt drive train from it for another project but it ended up being way too nice to take apart so I'm offering it up for sale to someone who will hopefully keep it on the road and I will find another engine for my other project. Please contact me if you need any additional photos or further information. |

Toyota tops Consumer Reports best, worst used car values
Tue, 18 Mar 2014We often mock Toyota for building boring, soulless cars, but a new study by Consumer Reports suggests that regardless of whether that's true, the company has some of the best used cars on the market. In its report on used cars from 2004-2013, the Japanese automaker had 11 vehicles among its brands on the list - more than any other automaker.
CR breaks the list down by cost and vehicle size, and Toyota has at least one entry at every price point and in nearly every segment. To score a recommendation, a vehicle had to perform well in the magazine's initial tests and score above-average reliability results. It also tried to only suggest cars with electronic stability control. Of the 28 recommended vehicles, Honda/Acura had the second most mentions at six, and Ford, Hyundai and Subaru managed two each.
The Detroit brands also made it to the list, but not in a positive way. Consumer Reports compiled a list of 22 vehicles it wouldn't recommend because "they have multiple years of much-worse-than-average overall reliability." General Motors had the most unrecommended models on the list at six, but Chrysler and Ford weren't far behind, with five cars each from their brands not making the grade. The full list of recommendations is available on CR's website.
Chrysler Recalling 870,000 SUVs For Brake Defect
Wed, Apr 2 2014Chrysler is recalling nearly 870,000 SUVs because corrosion may make the vehicles' brakes harder to use. Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from the 2011 through 2014 model years are involved. Chrysler says crimp joints in the brake boosters can corrode if they're exposed to water. If the water freezes, the boosters won't aid braking as they usually do. Chrysler began investigating after some customers said their brakes felt too firm when pressed down. The company knows of one accident, but no injuries, due to the defect. Dealers will install a shield to protect the boosters for free and replace boosters that aren't working properly. Chrysler has since changed the design to make the boosters more corrosion resistant. Chrysler will notify owners of the recall, which involves 867,795 vehicles. 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid starts at $43,090, or just over $35,000 with a tax credit
Tue, Nov 15 2016Chrysler has announced pricing for its 2017 Pacifica Hybrid plug-in minivan, and with the federal tax credit, it's priced similarly to mid-range vans. The Hybrid Premium starts at $43,990, or $35,590 after the credit, and the Hybrid Platinum starts at $46,090, or $38,590 with the credit. In Chrysler's line-up, these are close in cost to the Touring L and Touring L Plus Pacifica models, as well as mid-level trims on competitors' minivans. The big difference being that the Pacifica Hybrid provides up to 30 miles of electric range on a full charge and an 80 MPGe rating in the city. The Pacifica Hybrid is equipped similarly to the mid-range Pacificas. The Premium trim comes standard with leather seats all around, seat heaters for the front, remote start with pre-conditioning, three-zone automatic climate control, active noise cancellation, 7.3 inch color display in the instrument panel, and the SafetyTec package. This package includes features such as rear park assist and blind-spot monitoring. The Platinum trim adds Nappa leather and front ventilated seats, a heated two-tone steering wheel, 13-speaker sound system, Uconnect Theater rear entertainment, and a programmable key for young drivers (or sketchy-looking valets). At a potential price of just over $35,000, the Pacifica Hybrid is an appealing package, since it's a plug-in hybrid with usable range and loads of space. However, this is the case as long as the tax credit holds out. Once the credit is no longer available, the Pacifica Hybrid will top the line for pricing. At that point, its value proposition will have to be weighed more heavily against its green cred and driving dynamics. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
