Up for auction is my 67 Chrysler New Yorker. This car is a
true survivor with only 73K miles. I am the second owner and bought the car
from an estate sale 8 years ago. This was a daily driver for the former owner
until his death in 1983. Then the car sat until I bought her in 2006. I have
gone through and replaced all the “maintenance” items that you would expect to
go bad after sitting 23 years such as all hoses, belts, motor mounts, full tune
up, rebuilt carb, dual exhaust, radial tires, radiator flush, etc. Recently I had the radiator re-cored. She runs and drives amazing. No problems sitting in parade traffic, or at highway speed on a long trip. You really have to drive this car to appreciate just how nice and comfortable she rides. She is all stock and still wears 99% of her original paint (I’ve touched up a few nicks and bruises). Her chrome and trim look great and shine very nice. She has a couple small scrapes that you can see in the pics. The interior is amazing with only the smallest of flaws. She has the 440 engine with 727 Auto trans. Power Steering as well as power brakes. Car is pretty fast considering her size. At a recent nostalgia event, she ran 15.2 on street tires in completely stock trim. This is a rolling time machine. A very cool cruiser that gets tons of attention where ever she goes. A new garage project forces sale so I must sell her. I have put a very reasonable reserve on her. She’s a whole lotta fun for short money. She has a clean and clear title.
Car will be sold as is, where is with no warranty. It must be understood that this is a 47-year-old vehicle and should be treated as such. Ask any and all questions BEFORE bidding. Unless you want this car, DON’T bid. If you win the bidding, you are expected to pay for it and take delivery. If you would like photos of any specific area, let me know and I will accommodate you as best I can. I will answer all questions as quickly as I can. I urge any and all bidders or their agent, to view the car in person before bidding. I reserve the right to end auction early as vehicle is for sale locally. If you win the auction, a $500.00 down payment is required within 24 hours from auction end, with balance due within 7 days. Shipping the vehicle is the responsibility of the buyer. I can store the car for up to 30 days provided it is paid in full, and arrangements are made ahead of time. Don’t assume anything. I have represented this car to the best of my ability, but I am human. Again, please email ALL questions BEFORE bidding. If you have less than 10 feedback rating, email me first before bidding. Don’t miss out on this one. Good luck.

Massive Airbag Recall Affects Seven Automakers
Mon, Jun 23 2014The recall of faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata has exploded today to grow to seven automakers. In most cases, only models in certain high-humidity regions were affected because the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found in its investigation that moisture played a role in determining whether there would be a problem. However, some companies opted for national campaigns. The exact number of affected models for these campaigns isn't yet known at this time. BMW is recalling an undisclosed number of 325i, 325Xi, 330i and 330Xi models from the 2001 through 2005 model years and the 2001-2006 model year versions of the 325Ci and 330Ci for the driver side and passenger side inflators. Only vehicles currently registered in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands are covered under this recall. Neither Chrysler's filing with NHTSA nor its press release list the specific models affected, but a company spokesperson told Autoblog that at this time it only covers the driver and passenger side inflators for the 2006 Dodge Charger in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands In most cases, only models in certain high-humidity regions were affected because the NHTSA found that moisture played a roll in determining if there would be a problem. Ford is recalling an estimated 58,669 cars that include the 2005-2006 model years of the Ford GT for the driver and passenger inflators, the 2007-2007 model years of the Mustang for the driver side and 2004 Ranger for the passenger side. It covers vehicles originally sold or currently registered in, wait for it... Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands. Honda is issuing three separate recalls regarding the problem. First, the company is recalling the 2002-2003 model years Civic, CR-V and Odyssey and the 2003 model year of the Accord, Element, Pilot and Acura MDX to replace the passenger's side inflator. This covers all models nationwide. Second, Honda is repairing the passenger's side airbag inflator in the 2003-2005 Accord, Civic, CR-V, Element, Pilot, the 2003-2004 model year versions of the Odyssey, the 2003-2005 model year Acura MDX and 2005 Acura RL. However, only for vehicles located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Owners will be notified in July. Finally, Honda is separately replacing some models' driver's side inflators.
MotorWeek retro review revisits the Chrysler PT Cruiser
Mon, Jun 29 2015I have a long history with the Chrysler PT Cruiser. My mom was working at Automobile magazine when it launched, and she brought home their long-term tester all the time. My buddy Adam's mom bought one in the early 2000s, and I drove it on many an occasion. When I left Winding Road in early 2010 and joined Autoblog, the car I got on Day 1 was... well, I think you can guess. I will never forget driving that 2010 PT Cruiser to a rest stop outside of Toledo, Ohio, to meet then editor-in-chief John Neff and buy his old camera. I will also never forget the look on Neff's face when he pulled into the parking lot in his 1991 Ford Taurus SHO, saw the PT, and started laughing. I have always hated this car. But when it launched around the turn of the millennium, it was a huge deal – not just for Chrysler, but for the industry. Retro styling was all the rage, and the PT had it in spades. On top of that, it was seriously functional – one of the first widely accepted tall hatchbacks in an era where Americans wanted sedans. MotorWeek has now dug up its original PT Cruiser review for its latest retro review offering. Watch the video above to see what the ever-charismatic John Davis and his crew thought of the PT way back when it was actually relevant.
Former Chrysler dealers could reopen under appeals court ruling
Thu, Jan 22 2015Years after the bankruptcies and subsequent bailouts of Chrysler (now FCA) and General Motors, the automotive industry is still seeing legal decisions about them come through the courts. The latest ruling from a US appeals court has given 4 of the 789 dealers that Chrysler closed in its Chapter 11 process one less hurdle towards reopening. Following the bankruptcy, 105 of the shuttered dealers went through an arbitration process in hopes of reopening, and 32 won their arguments. However, a victory in that undertaking didn't necessarily mean that the stores could reestablish themselves. For these three showrooms in Michigan and one in Las Vegas, state laws allowed nearby competitors from the same automaker to stand in the way of restarting, according to Automotive News. This problem brought yet another lawsuit, and a US district court found that the arbitration decisions did not overrule state laws. The latest appeals court ruling overturned that decision. However, as with many legal proceedings, the process for reopening for these dealers still isn't exactly easy. The latest decision only covers the nearby dealers' ability to protest; it doesn't mandate FCA actually to open the stores again. According to a statement from Michael Palese of FCA legal communications to Automotive News, the ruling, "did not provide for reinstatement of the dealers who prevailed in arbitration, but only gave them a right to a 'customary and usual' letter of intent." It means for these showrooms to start selling again, now they need to work things out with Chrysler's new owner.
