1948 Chrysler New Yorker In Great Original Condition on 2040-cars
Peoria, Illinois, United States
Up for sale is a super solid 1948 Chrysler New Yorker with no reserve. Don't let the paint job on this one fool you there is a beautiful car under there! This car is in amazingly solid shape for its age. The frame and all the sheet metal is in really solid condition. The floors, doors, fenders, and door jambs are in really great original condition with no rusted out areas. It looks like this car was garaged for the majority of its life with low were and tear from the elements especially on the undercarriage of the car. The interior items work such as the dome lights, e-brake blinking light, heater blower, radio, cigarette lighter, air vent, etc. For a restoration project this car is ahead of the game with a lot of work already done. This car only needs light mechanical work, interior, paint work, and some exterior re-chroming. I have receipts totaling around $3400.00 with the car. The motor was professionally rebuilt. Some new brake lines and drums, brake shoes, and all new wheel cylinders have been professionally installed. The rims were sand blasted and primed. New high quality period tires were fitted and are in great like new condition still. Also, the gas tank has been boiled out, cleaned, and the car is running off gas through the tank. The car was on the road running and driving a couple years ago. I recently put a new coil on and got it up and running again. The brakes need to be bled and checked but are working now. The car does run and drive but is a little stubborn to start, I think that is due to the carb. This is a minor fix as well. I think it needs a carburetor tune up or rebuild. There is a slight hesitation in throttle but only due to the carb. The motor runs smooth and clutch and transmission work well. It might need slight adjusting and lubricating on transmission linkage. Car comes with new battery and new coil installed and an original service manual. Terms. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to pull the ad and sell the car locally. Car is sold as is. No warranty is expressed or implied with the sale of this 1948 Chrysler New Yorker Buyer pays fees if full payment is made through PayPal

Ward's releases 10 Best Interiors list for 2014
Thu, 10 Apr 2014While we're still a ways off from the automotive awards season proper, where things like North American Car and Truck of the Year, Motor Trend's Car of the Year and Car and Driver's Ten Best are named, that doesn't mean there aren't trophies being handed out to deserving automakers. Ward's 10 Best Interiors being one of them.
As the name might imply, the magazine focuses on the very best interior treatments in the US market. Whereas some awards purposely exclude extreme, high-dollar offerings, Ward's considers them - the only requirement is that a vehicle has a "new or significantly redesigned interior."
Ward's offered up the list of winners in simple, alphabetical order, and it only seems fair to do the same:
Chrysler gets presidential in ads for 200 and 300
Mon, Feb 15 2016Many people are already tired of the candidates in the 2016 presidential race, but Chrysler's new spokesmen are two former Commanders-in-Chief that just about everyone can support – Martin Sheen and Bill Pullman. Sheen had Aaron Sorkin's writing to guarantee he always knew the right thing to say as President Josiah Bartlet on The West Wing, and Pullman fought an alien invasion from a fighter jet as president in Independence Day. Now, these former on-screen presidents help Chrysler sell the 300 and 200 in two new ads. American-est (above) lets Sheen go wild spouting meaningless patriotic aphorisms while slipping in references to the cars' features. Swerve (below) gets a little more directly political by joking about pandering to "nuts" on the fringe during the primary, but the actors still slide in a mention of the vehicles' safety tech. These spots might help Chrysler move a few more units of the 200 before the company impeaches the sedan from the lineup, and the automaker also promises more commercials with Sheen and Pullman in the coming months. We hope Pullman jokes about his fight against aliens in one of the future commercials. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Chrysler 300 SRT dead in US, updated elsewhere
Sat, Aug 29 2015The Chrysler 300 SRT is officially dead here in the US, but the sedan's big V8 continues to rumble in a handful of other markets around the world. In fact, the model just received a refresh abroad to fit the standard version's recently updated styling. According to Car and Driver, customers in countries like Australia, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, and a few other places can stop by their local Chrysler dealer soon to pick up some of this imported muscle. For the refresh, the 300 SRT's 6.4-liter V8 remains under the hood producing 470 horsepower, and it's now hooked up to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The styling also gets some updates like LED lights in the lower air dam, a reshaped mesh grille with the SRT logo, and a simplified design for the taillights. If it seems odd to go to the work of updating the 300 SRT's styling, while killing off the model in the US, the reason has to do with FCA's brand strategy here. Dodge is supposed to be the automaker's performance marque in America, and according to Car and Driver, Jeep gets to keep SRT branding on the Grand Cherokee because of the brawny SUV's popularity. That might not last much longer, because reports suggest a Hellcat-powered Trackhawk is on the way. Related Video:
