Jewett, Ohio, United States
An original paint, engine, transmission, interior 1978 Chrysler Lebaron Medallion. Engine is original and never been out of the car. Modifications I did are .060 shaved on deck and intake face 915 casting heads with 2.02/1.60 S.S. valves. New springs, valve stem seals, bronze guides. Edelbrock Performer intake with 1974 360 Carter Thermoquad and new OE type divorced choke. Crane 340 OE stock pattern camshaft. Stock exh manifolds and Y pipe feed into half of a Dart/Duster 2.5" complete exhaust front to back. Mopar electronic ignition system. Transmission had a mild shift kit and a custom 1800 rpm converter minus the lock up system installed. Driveshaft has new U-joints and balanced. Rear end is a 8 1/4 that was rebuilt with 2.94 gears and a Sure-Grip. New leaf springs and bushings. New factory type rear sway bar and brackets. All new gas shocks. Firm Feel rebuilt power steering box. Stock power steering pump runs quiet no leaks. Aluminum ISO bushing replacements for the K-member. Stock interior including original floor mats. Chrysler late 90's radio with CD and cassette player. Two 4" speakers under top of dash in replace of the factory mono speaker and two 6x9s mounted under the package tray in the back. NOS grille, headlight buckets, outside mirrors, and trunk chrome above tail lights. Rest of the trim is stock and in excellent condition. Original window wiper arms and blade holders with Anco replacement Classic blades. Aftermarket 15x7 road wheels with 235/60-15 Goodyear tires. I still have the original Medallion solid aluminum wheels also. All new rotors, bearings, and pads. Rebuilt upper A-arms and lower control arms. New pitman arm and idler arm. Tie rods are original and excellent condition. Radiator was flushed repainted and reinstalled. New clutch on 7 blade fan. AC unit was purged and flushed and charged with updated Freon 3 years ago and still blows cold. Heater has no leaks and works great. New OE type vacuum operated on/off valve in heater hose. Original owner bought it new in Salem, Ohio. He put 22,000 miles on it over about 20 years obviously never seeing snow. Its rust free and every nut and bolt I touched came out like it was just put in the day before. It passed between two other owners before I got it with 24,000 miles on it. It now has close to 39,000 miles on it. Everything I did to it was pure Mopar and only done to improve performance or handling without detracting from its originality. Other than the wheels and tires it still looks factory stock. Though it steers and handles way better than the day it left the factory. Im sure Im forgetting something just email me with any questions you might have. Feel free to inspect it before hand or have someone come and look at it for you if youre too far from me. I haven't been active lately on Moparts.com but several Ohio members have seen the car and can vouche for its condition. My member name is "mopowergtx"

Chrysler Group moves around execs in wake of recent departure
Tue, 16 Apr 2013Chrysler is busy shuffling executives around in the wake of Ram head Fred Diaz's departure. The automaker has named Reid Bigland (pictured, right) as Diaz's successor in the role of president and CEO of Ram, though Bigland will continue his duties as the head of US sales and the president and CEO of Chrysler Canada. Bigland first came to Chrysler in 2006 from Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation, so the guy knows a thing or two about trucks.
Meanwhile, Timothy Kuniskis will take over as president and CEO of Dodge. Previously, he served as the head of Fiat in North America and has been with Chrysler in one capacity or another since 1992. His old title now falls to Jason Stoicevich, who will also continue to work as the director of the automaker's California Business Center. Finally, Bruno Cattori will take over as the president and CEO of Chrysler Mexico.
Diaz left his position to take over as a divisional vice president of sales and marketing with Nissan. You can read the full press release on the Chrysler personnel changes below for more information.
Chrysler and Hyundai join Pepsi and Coke as top Super Bowl spenders [w/ video]
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Super Bowl XLVIII is barely a week away, and some of the early ads are already leaking out. It's timely then that The Street has released rankings of the top five Super Bowl advertisers since 2009, showing Chrysler and Hyundai/Kia taking two of the spots with $131.7 million in cumulative spending.
Since 2010, the cost to air a 30-second Super Bowl ad has risen from $3 million in 2009 to about $4 million in 2014, and about a fifth of advertisers opt for a one-minute ad, which doubles costs. Last year, the ads brought in $292 million, and they have brought in roughly $2 billion since 2010.
Chrysler has spent $64.3 million since 2009 to make it the fourth highest spending company in the last five years. In that time, the company has rebranded itself as it emerged from bankruptcy with the Imported from Detroit ad campaign that premiered in 2011 and last year's God Made a Farmer Ram Trucks ad. Its 2012 Halftime in America sparked national debate about whether it was also a reference to the upcoming presidential election.
NHTSA closes book on Jeep 'trailer hitch' recall after all
Mon, 20 Jan 2014After much debating and hand-wringing, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration now says it has "no reservations" with Chrysler's plan to recall certain Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models over concerns that their fuel tanks, which are located behind the rear axle, could rupture or leak in the event of a rear impact. The longstanding argument between the two entities saw Chrysler openly defy the Feds after a request to recall 2.7 million units back in June.
Chrysler's "voluntary campaign" will instead see it recall 1.56-million 1993-2004 model year Grand Cherokee SUVs, along with 2002-2007 Liberty models. Affected vehicles will get a trailer hitch installed free of charge, which Chrysler says will provide an additional degree of protection for the fuel tanks in the event of a crash. Jeeps with Mopar-branded hitches or hitches that were installed at the factory aren't affected by this recall.
Chrysler's argument throughout this battle has been that the Jeeps in question are no more susceptible to fires than comparable vehicles from the same time period, a position that NHTSA has seemingly arrived at as well. "Those vehicles performed at a rate similar to their peers. That is the keystone analysis as to whether something poses an unreasonable risk to safety," said outgoing NHTSA boss David Strickland during an interview with the The Associated Press.
