Crown coupe with 29000 original miles. I have the original waranty book and the registration slips starting in 1991 to document milage. The car runs good, if it sits for a couple of days you have to prime the carb. But it starts right up and runs good. The only thing it needs to be driven on a daily bassis is the brakes need work. They work but it leaks fluid slowly, could be a wheel cylindar. The body is really straight, the only place needing work is the panel between the trunk and rear window but it looks minor. It needs paint. Its is gray ( not original paint) and has primer spots were i sanded chip spots to prep for a repaint NOT RUST. Good tires. The interior isnt bad, it will need headliner repaired/replaced, seats have no tears. The front seats have been recovered. Has power windows, the driver side front isnt working. Power seats, power antena all work. Cruise control. The AC compressor comes on but dont know if it blows cold. Cant check it in winter. Has auto headlight dimmers. Heater works The rear bumpers have some pitting and surface rust. Would make a good driver with some work or an excellent restoration canidate. can call 660-537-4430 for questions

1950s car ads are timeless
Sat, Aug 8 2015Usually around the Super Bowl a few great car commercials show up, but for the most part auto ads today pale in comparison to the '1950s and '60s. In an era with a truly viable magazine industry, automakers would take out gorgeous full-page spreads to get the word out about their wares. It was also a time when imports were just hitting the US, and there was a boom in sports cars. Car and Driver has gone for a dig into its advertising archives from when the book was known as Sports Cars Illustrated for a truly great viewing experience. You can imagine a young Don Draper mulling over the copy for these ads, but some of it is laughably quaint today. For example, there's a great image of a driver whipping an Austin-Healey 100 around a track. The italicized red text proudly proclaims, "From 0 to 60 MPH in 10.5 seconds." One of the beautiful parts about these advertisements is that you seldom see photos of the cars. Instead, there are often detailed drawings that slightly distort the vehicles' lines. With this approach, the Porsche 356 ends up looking far more curvaceous than in real life. Plus, the front end of the Chrysler 300 looks large enough to land a helicopter on. The whole thing is worth scrolling through. There are some fascinating glimpses into auto history like an ad for Abarth exhausts before the brand was just known for tuning Fiats. For some, getting a Fiat 500e last week was almost free
Sun, Mar 22 2015Auto-racing clubs know a thing or two about moving fast. And a couple of them out in California appeared to do just that when a bunch of incentives for the Fiat 500e electric vehicle added up to a pretty sweet deal. Actually, a borderline free one. Green Car Reports was kind enough to do the math on the calculation of an $83-a-month, three-year lease deal on that included a $2,100 perk and required an $11,000 downpayment on the $32,000 car. California and federal government incentives for EVs cut that downpayment down to $1,000 out of pocket once the incentives ($7,500 from the feds, $2,500 from the state) were factored in by the leasing company. Then, Fiat-Chrysler was throwing in another $1,000 for folks who were leasing a car from another car company, hence the freebie. That means some lucky people, at least temporarily, were able to work basically a zero-downpayment agreement for a three-year lease on a car whose monthly payment is the equivalent of about two full tanks of gas. Once word of those perks got around to some California racing clubs, about 100 500e vehicles to be moved off of California lots during the past week or so. Plugged in, indeed. Chrysler 100, midsize CUV and plug-in hybrid minivan launch bid to go mainstream
Tue, 06 May 2014The news just keeps on rolling from Auburn Hills today, as Fiat Chrysler continues to detail its five-year growth plan. This time round, we're talking about Chrysler. The troubled American brand has been limited in the past few years to the lamentable Sebring/200, the Town & Country and the 300, although that's likely to change in the coming years.
"The Chrysler brand is not luxury - it's not premium. Chrysler is the mainstream American brand," brand CEO Al Gardner said during today's presentation.
Gardner set a sales target of 800,000 units by 2018, which marks an increase of 350,000 units compared to its 2013 sales results. That's a pretty big ask for a brand that's struggled to define itself over the past decade.
