Supremely rare, imposing and elegant Imperial L80 Club Coupe with Rumble seat coachbuilt by Le Baron, one of the 25 produced by Chrysler during 1928/9 making it one of the rarest of all the vintage models. It is believed only two survive today. This is the ex Pat Craig of Stockton CA show car, restored some 35 years ago and the subject of several magazine articles. Following its export to Europe in 1995, it was on display as a static exhibit at a luxury resort before being being put into storage for many years. Interestingly, on arrival in the UK in 1995 the new owners were faced with customs duties of over ?7,000 which means that British Customs valued this car at well over ?100,000 all those years ago Now fully recomissioned and ready to use, it is a testament to the quality of the original US restoration that this magnificent automobile remains so well preserved. It has new green leather upholstery and new dark green mohair roof fabric. Road tested once again in 2012 as part of an article for one of the UK's leading classic car publications, the journalist summed up the experience as follows:- " It will guarantee exclusivity...Want to be king of the road? Nothing else will do". The original features include beautifully proportioned close-coupled coupe Le Baron coachwork with Rumble, Buffalo wire wheels with twin side-mounted spares, golf club compartment, opening front windscreen, sliding rear window to allow communication with rumble seat passengers, Arvin heater, Stewart vacuum operated fuel delivery system, very advanced (for the era) all hydraulic braking system, machine-turned aluminium dashboard, rear mounted and original travelling trunk. The car retains its original 5200cc straight six engine producing 112 BHP which Chrysler claimed to be America's most powerful production car at the time. Designed to allow the Imperial brand to compete with the prestige marques of Stutz, Cadillac and Packard, the Imperial L80 cost in excess of $3,000, a huge amount even by the standards of the roaring 20's just preceding the Great Depression. It is also the last Chrysler model to wear the fluted radiator design before losing the legal action filed against them by Vauxhall for design copyright infringement. The car is in the UK and is UK registered at present. It runs and drives superbly, attracts huge attention, is admired wherever it goes and puts most other prestige vintage marques of this era to shame in terms of performance and overrall ease of use. Realistic offers welcome, part trades welcome particularly RHD classic Jaguar/Rolls/Bentley/Alvis always considered. *** Shipping to USA East or West coast port in 20' container arranged by agreement. We can load and seal container with local shipping agents on behalf of the buyer and the car can be back in the USA within approx. two weeks.***

FB Tuning debuts 400-hp carbon-bodied Chrysler Crossfire in Monaco
Wed, 30 Apr 2014The Chrysler Crossfire was, suffice it to say, a matter of taste. Based on old Mercedes-Benz mechanicals, it included retro styling accents and an armadillo roofline. Some loved it, but there was clearly room for improvement - not to mention more sales - and that's just what Italian coachbuilder FB Tuning had to showcase at the Top Marques show in Monaco this year.
Called the FB-ONE, it's based on the Crossfire, which itself was based on the same R170 chassis as the first-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK. It packs the same 3.2-liter V6 as well, which FB claims to have tuned farther than anything Daimler-Chrysler ever managed with the same engine. Whereas the SLK32 AMG packed 354 horsepower and the Crossfire SRT-6 offered 330, the FB-One packs a nice, round 400 hp, which ought to be good for a 0-60 time of little over four seconds.
As you can see, that's not all they've done with FB-One. It's also been rebodied in carbon fiber, with gold accents, deep-dish alloys that look like they came out of a casino and the headlights from an Audi A8. Whether the result is your cup of tea likely depends, as it did with the Crossfire in the first place, on your own personal tastes, so check it out for yourself in the video below.
Fiat Chrysler's London offices will be small, with financial focus
Tue, 20 May 2014Fiat Chrysler's decision to locate its new corporate headquarters in jolly old London won't herald a sprawling relocation effort. Instead, it's very likely that the FCA outfit will be a small one, primarily focused on finance.
The report comes from Automotive News Europe, which claims FCA's London office will employ about 50 people with backgrounds in finance. CEO Sergio Marchionne and Fiat Group Chairman John Elkann will both have offices at the corporate headquarters, as well.
ANE cites an anonymous source that claims the people employed at the London office will focus primarily on treasury operations. It's unlikely that FCA will take on any additional employees specifically for its UK offices. That said, FCA isn't likely to downsize either its Turin or Auburn Hills offices once London comes online.
SRT reveals Satin Vapor Edition 300, Charger and Challenger SRT models
Fri, 07 Feb 2014With the exception of some notable truck and van introductions, Chrysler brands have tended to use the Chicago Auto Show to bring out new special editions, pimp their aftermarket parts support or indulge in the occasional flight of fancy. That plan is holding true for 2014, as well. Cases in point are these new Satin Vapor Editions of the 2014-model-year Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 - all from SRT.
The Satin Vapor name may sound like a failed 1970s glam-rock band, or a pseudo-gynecological diagnosis from the Old West, but is, in fact, pretty much a tape-and-trim package for this trio of hi-po Mopars. 300, Challenger and Charger alike come shod with 20-inch aluminum wheels finished in Black Satin Vapor Chrome, and are accented with Satin Black bits aplenty. The 300 gets blacked-out mirrors, spoiler and roof; the Challenger applies it to mirrors and its fuel door; while the Charger has the stuff covering its roof, hood and Super Bee tail graphic.
Interiors of the cars have been mildly updated as well, with all three getting some combination of Nappa leather, ultra-suede and carbon-fiberish finishes.
