I bought this 2008 Chrysler Crossfire Limited Coupe out of Florida last year and rarely drive it (3000 miles in a year)

This car has 11,234 miles and is about as pristine as you can get.  It has the nice two-tone heated leather seat and with Select-Shift semi-auto trans. 215 horse Mercedes V-6.  The car is basically a Mercedes SLK 320 with a Chrysler body.  It was actually made in Germany.
No accidents, no issues.  It drives like a dream.  The dealer I bought it from stated that it was ordered new by an elderly gentleman who ordered it special with badges deleted. Anyway, it came with none. I added the non-factory MB Crossfire logo with wing in the rear and front otherwise you can't tell what it is.  It's been lowered (Eibach spring and factory Sachs shocks) and has TSW Jarama Wheels with Nitto ZR tires, 18" up front, 19" rear. It also has a MOPAR rear diffuser versus the stock Crossfire rear fascia.
The car has two minor paint scratches (very minor) and two very small stone chips.  A couple of the wheels have some curb rash.  That's it. The factory navigation CDs are missing but you can download them for free off the Crossfire Forum using Visio.
All manuals are there as are both keys.
I understand it, Crossfire production ceased 17 Dec 2007.  This car shows a production date of 12/2007 so it's one of the very last made, #75908 out of about 76,000-80,000 total production (depending upon whom you ask).

This car has no issues.  Everything works and it needs absolutely nothing.  The tires have about 65%+ tread left.  It still smells new, too.

$500 deposit via Paypal and the rest via bank check or cash or (preferably) a bank transfer.  The title is clean but there is a lien on it so that'll have to clear first. It can sit here with no issue until it's all settled.

NADA Clean Retail is $18,975.

Happy bidding.

Chrysler to veer away from 'Imported From Detroit' message?

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

Claim some ground, control that ground and then expand. Chrysler, wandering the Earth like Kane from Kung-Fu when it came to brand message after the bailouts, pulled off the first two feats in only 120 seconds when its "Imported from Detroit" commercial aired during the 2011 Super Bowl. Two years later and now that the brand has a center in the minds of consumers, the Chrysler Group's head of marketing, Olivier Francois, says it's time to move away from the "Detroit" component of that slogan and express the "Imported" aspect.
It is, more precisely, about positioning Chrysler as genuine competition for imports and not Ford or General Motors, but rather Toyota on quality or Audi on technology. A report in Forbes said that Francois not only "wants to attract import owners to Chrysler vehicles by focusing on quality, technology, fuel economy and style," but to "take back the lead in these four things." That is the new understanding he wants people to infer from the idea of Detroit - that the nation's car capital isn't just a patriotic rallying point but a lively competitor for established giants.
Chrysler has been running ads that no longer refer to Detroit, and recent efforts have linked a specific character to each brand - like Jenny with Jeep and Steven with the Chrysler 300 - to create brand separation. Francois hasn't detailed what he plans to do to bolster Chrysler's upscale pretensions, but his efforts would be helped by CEO Sergio Marchionne loosing the pursestrings and the arrival of strong new product.

Trump tells Detroit 3 CEOs he wants more US jobs, calls environmentalists 'out of control'

Tue, Jan 24 2017

As expected, President Donald J. Trump met with top executives from FCA, Ford, and General Motors this morning as part of a larger push to generate jobs in America. "I want new plants to be built here for cars sold here!", Trump said in a tweet ahead of the meeting. Not everything said in the meeting was made public, but the President later tweeted that he had a "Great meeting with automobile industry leaders." FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne, Ford chief Mark Fields, and GM's Mary Barra all echoed the positive vibes after the meeting. In a statement, Barra called the discussion "very constructive and wide-ranging," adding that it focused on "policies that support a strong and competitive economy and auto industry," and "that supports the environment and safety." That's noteworthy, because Trump is reported to have said "I am to a large extent an environmentalist. I believe in it, but it's out of control." Fields, speaking to reporters after the meeting, said, "We're excited about working together with the president and his administration on tax policies, on regulation and on trade to really create a renaissance in American manufacturing." The Ford CEO was specifically talking about Trump's withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership. "We've repeatedly said that the mother of all trade barriers is currency manipulation, and TPP failed in meaningfully dealing with that, and we appreciate the president's courage to walk away from a bad trade deal," he said. Marchionne focused on American manufacturing in his statement after the meeting. "I appreciate the President's focus on making the US a great place to do business. We look forward to working with President Trump and members of Congress to strengthen American manufacturing." Perhaps equally as interesting as what was said and who was invited are what wasn't said and who wasn't invited. Trump has been very vocal about his distaste for US automakers' plants in Mexico, but no mention was made of the North American Free Trade Agreement by Trump or any of the Detroit CEOs after the meeting. We also have to wonder if Trump plans to meet with representatives from German, Japanese, and Korean automakers that have made massive investments into American plants and produce a large number of cars in this country. Dodge Viper saved from crusher by students, but will it last?

Tue, 16 Sep 2014

The saga of the Washington state community college hoping to keep its allegedly pre-production Dodge Viper out of the maw of the crusher is going strong. Not only does the school still have the car, but there's a chance that the college might even get to keep it.
The whole situation flared up in March when the South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, WA, received a notice from Chrysler Group that requested that the school's Viper be destroyed. The automaker had loaned the muscle car to it about a decade ago to use for educational purposes in its auto tech classes. With the Dodge growing long in the tooth, "it is unlikely that these vehicles offer any educational value to students," the company said in its press release on the matter.
However, the college balked at destroying its Viper, despite the fact it had signed a contract with Chrysler Group to do so. The school further claimed that its car was incredibly special because it was a pre-production example and just the fourth one made back in 1992. Although, as we pointed out at the time, the photos of the school's vehicle showed a coupe that looked like a newer Viper GTS.
