2005 Chrysler Crossfire Limited Convertible 2-door 3.2l on 2040-cars
Westbury, New York, United States
I spend a year searching for this car in this condition. I am extremely fussy, and this car is so close to new if you didn't know the years they were produced you think it was virtually just taken off the showroom floor. I have loved the retro style since it came to the market. I finally purchased and absolutely beautiful one with low miles, 100% ORIGINAL paint, SRT front bumper installed by Chrysler. Custom german rims that are made for this car, no spacers required. The rims have white highlights that match the car beautiful. The factory paint looks as good as it did on the showroom floor. My only reason for selling, it sits in my garage covered all the time. I have a wife and 4 year old, so the few times I drive it are solo. As much fun as it is, not being able to include my family it's just bitter sweet. This car is stunning, I know, not because I own it but because when I was looking I had spend a year and many miles looking for the perfect one, and as I mentioned I am FUSSY! Or as my wife would say PITA ;) I had seen many, none were even close to the like new condition of this car. This car stands out from all the rest. As you probably know Crossfires were designed and built by Mercedes Benz in Germany and imported to select Daimler Chrysler dealers here in the States. Based on Mercedes fine SLK series these are fabulous driving machines offering superior performance and comfort. This Limited is equipped with great factory options, including power heated leather seats, premium stereo including CD changer, fully automatic padded cloth soft top (which is just like new), and much, much more. Exterior finish is nearly new, never any accidents or paintwork. Interior carpets, panels, seats, dash and all instruments are beautiful. Now that summer has finally arrived this car is ready to be enjoyed. Absolutely needs nothing, drives, handles and performs virtually like new car. I by know means have to sell this car, I have two other vehicles that are my daily drives and if the right price isn't presented I'll keep it covered in my garage and enjoy from time to time. Whether I drive it or not, I still enjoy it as beautiful eye candy. Feel free to make an offer, I have this for sale locally and can sell at anytime. I will assist in shipping. Baby Jeep to join Renegade in FCA's plan for new Italian-built models
Tue, Nov 27 2018FCA is boosting its European production, introducing new models that will be built in currently under-utilized manufacturing facilities. Among the new models is a new small Jeep, smaller than the current Renegade, as Automotive News reports. FCA's Mike Manley mentioned the entry-level Jeep model earlier this year, also saying that the vehicle is targeted to European and possibly Latin American customers; in the summer, Autocar placed the launch date in 2022. The new "baby" Jeep would be made in the same factory in Pomigliano, Italy, as the small Fiat Panda, which is a top seller in Italy. The current generation Panda was introduced in 2011; if it gets a replacement in 2022, it could possibly share a platform with the Jeep model — or, the Jeep could be an eventual outright replacement for the Panda. One of Fiat's earlier core products, the Punto hatchback, was canned in August, and that production capacity will be used to make the Jeep Compass instead, at the Renegade-producing Melfi factory in southern Italy. The Compass has not previously been built in Europe. The Fiat model portfolio would be shrunk to just the 500 model family and the Panda — the 500 would also be FCA's key electric vehicle offered in Europe. It is not yet clear whether the electric 500 would be made in Turin, Italy, or in Poland; Turin might also get a Giardiniera-badged wagon version of the refreshed 500. As for the Alfa Romeo brand, it is set to gain an even bigger SUV model than the Stelvio, based on the Maserati Levante's platform. The Levante's sales have suffered recently in China, but Maserati does have light in the horizon: The Alfieri 2+2 grand tourer is still in the cards, with a launch expected for 2020 and both a convertible and an electrified version planned to follow. The Alfieri would be made in Modena, Italy, according to Automotive News' sources. None of these plans namedrop the storied Lancia brand, which has been shrunk to just the Ypsilon hatchback, based on the same platform as the current 500 and Panda. Despite that, the Ypsilon was again the second-bestselling car in Italy after the Panda in October. It is unlikely that FCA will be able to ignore this, but it is just as unlikely that any development money will be afforded to come up with a replacement for the Ypsilon, which is as similarly old as the Panda. Perhaps official announcements expected on Thursday will also clarify what will happen to Lancia.
Next Chrysler minivan spied inside and out
Wed, Feb 18 2015Chrysler isn't supposed to unveil the next-generation Town & Country until the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, but FCA is hard at work getting the minivan ready for launch. Our spies recently caught prototypes on the road and took copious photos of the interior and exterior, giving us an early idea what to expect from the future family-hauler. These shots make it pretty clear that FCA's engineers aren't done working on the next T&C yet, and all of the camouflage on the outside makes any styling changes very difficult to spot. However, the company is testing the future version with a current one, and the new design appears to have harder angles. One intriguing picture clearly shows the Dodge logo on the back of the minivan. The Dodge Grand Caravan is supposed to be killed off for 2016, though. We've also heard the next-generation minivan will get a plug-in hybrid variant, which was reportedly confirmed last week. The interior is slightly less concealed than the outside, but development is still ongoing in there, too. It's easy to spot the familiar infotainment screen from other FCA products, and there's just a peek at the T&C's instrument cluster, including the design for the tachometer. A rotary dial gearshift also appears to be in the center console, similar to the Chrysler 200. Even at this early stage, it appears that FCA is trying to take the next T&C a little more upmarket compared to the current iteration. The move fits well with earlier rumors of the price increasing for the future model. Related Video:
Canada bailed out GM, Chrysler without really knowing what they were getting into
Tue, Dec 2 2014The Auditor General of Canada recently issued a report that makes at least one thing clear: it doesn't know how effective Canadian government loans given to General Motors and Chrysler in 2009 were in ensuring the viability of both companies. That year, the Canadian and Ontario governments dished out $10.8 billion CAD ($9.6B US) to GM and $2.9 billion CAD ($2.6B US) to Chrysler, but hadn't yet sorted out precisely how the funds were to be used before disbursing them. This happened in spite of the fact that, according to a piece in Bloomberg, the loans weren't meant to be handed out until authorities were clear on the manufacturers' plans for reorganization. In fact, federal officials hadn't finished establishing the concessions made by all the involved parties, the pension liabilities, nor the long-term soundness of the automakers' financial positions. On top of that, apparently it didn't keep close tabs on the money after loaning it: the report says that $1B CAD should have been applied to GM Canada pension plans but was instead given to GM to use. Chrysler repaid $1.7 billion, while GM handed back $3.8 billion and Bloomberg believes the feds in Ottawa still own 110 million shares of The General, which, at the stock price as of writing, would be good for another $3.9 billion. Those were mad, bad days, though, and we're not sure what point the report serves, other than to say, "Oh, by the way...."
