2001 Chrysler Concorde Lxi Sedan 4-door 3.2l **clean** on 2040-cars
United States
Up for Auction, this clean, well maintained 2001 Chrysler Concorde lxi. I purchased the car used in 2005. This car was often driven by a single driver, therefore the interior is in great condition. This car is equipped with all of the available options offered in 2001. The driver side seat is starting to show some normal wear (see photo), but no rips, tears, etc. The exterior of the car is showing average/normal wear, i.e. few rock chips on hood (see photo), and typical grocery cart dings here and there, but nothing that needs visual repair. Paint is original, so it shows signs of minor oxidation. Tires have about 50% tread life remaining. Front ceramic brakes and rotors are within 6 months old. Mechanically the car is sound now!
**Honest disclaimer, please read!** At 158,000 miles, the timing belt broke which is a bad deal on these 3.2L motors. Instead of trying to repair all of the parts and pieces, I purchased another used ( but running) complete power train (engine and transmission) to install. Before installing the newer power train, I replaced the timing belt and water pump, belts & hoses to extend the life of the newer power train that only has 100,000 miles on it.*** This car runs great and has a comfortable drive. It is still a daily commuter car with plenty of life left! Good luck bidding on this very clean, dependable Inferno Red Concorde lxi! Thanks for looking! |

Fiat-Chrysler shows its SEMA lineup
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles already previewed its 2014 SEMA show lineup with some slick renders. Now, the automaker has finally showed us the actual cars, and among the group there are definitely some that stand out more than others.
Dodge is really showing off its muscle at this year's show with four concepts that all pump up the power of the brand's models. Perhaps most interesting among them is the Challenger T/A Concept (pictured above) in striking Sublime Green and matte black. It's meant to resemble the classic Trans Am racer from the '70s. Under the hood is a 6.4-liter V8, and to fit the vintage style there's a pistol-grip gearshift inside.
The Charger R/T also gets some attention with the Mopar concept that shows off what FCA's aftermarket performance arm can do. Mods include an updated body kit, cold-air intake for the 5.7-liter V8 and a coil-over suspension kit. Beyond that, the Dart R/T Concept looks a lot meaner with a black hood with duct work that leads straight to the air intake. The rest of the compact sedan is dolled up in O-So-Orange paint and is fitted with upgrades to improve handling like a coil-over suspension and big brake kit from the Mopar catalog.
Chrysler recalling over 280k minivans because airbags may deploy on wrong side
Mon, 08 Jul 2013Chrysler has issued a recall for some 2013 Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan and Ram C/V Tradesman vans built between May 10, 2012 and June 7, 2013. These vehicles may have a software error that would cause the wrong side (opposite side) airbags to deploy in a crash. With this defect, a left-side impact would cause the right-side airbag to deploy, etc.
The recall affects 281,500 vehicles in total: 224k in the US, 49,300 in Canada, 2,900 in Mexico and 5,300 in other locations. Chrysler will notify owners of effected vehicles, and reflash the offending occupant restraint control module to resolve the issue. Chrysler investing $20M in Toledo plant to support 9-speed auto production
Sun, 28 Apr 2013In 2011, Chrysler announced a $72-million investment in its Toledo Machining Plant to modernize production of the eight- and nine-speed torque-converters for automatic transmissions made there. That upgrade work won't be finished until Q3 of this year, but Chrysler has already announced a further $19.6-million investment to increase production capacity for the nine-speeders.
The extra units will be necessary because the nine-speed transmission they'll be mated to is going into three popular models: it will debut on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, then go into the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart. The company predicted that this year alone it would sell 200,000 units equipped with the nine-speed tranny, and it is spending some $374 million in addition to the investment in Toledo to upgrade production capacity for it.
The work attached to this new investment won't begin until Q3 of 2014, and it will be finished by the end of that year. There's a press release below with all the details.
