The original Cordoba personal luxury coupe, which debuted for the 1975 model year, was a big hit for Chrysler. Through the 1979 model year, it was based on the successful Chrysler B-Body platform, making it a sibling to the Dukes of Hazzard Charger and Governor Moonbeam's Plymouth Satellite sedan. I see a surprising number of Cordobas showing up in the self-service wrecking yards I frequent in California and Colorado, and this two-tone '79 showed up in a San Francisco Bay Area yard a while back. Mopar boss promoted at FCA, still runs Mopar

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is appointing Pietro Gorlier as its new chief operating officer for components. The change in title is effective June 30 and means that he reports directly to Sergio Marchionne. He already runs Mopar globally. Gorlier is replacing Eugenio Razelli, who is leaving the automaker. Even with the new position, Gorlier continues to be the boss at Mopar and retains his seat on FCA's global executive council, which is the company's top decision-making group. This is essentially one more step up the ladder for the Turin-born executive. Gorlier became CEO of Mopar service, parts, and customer care for FCA US in 2009 and took over that role worldwide in 2011. FCA announces new appointment Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (NYSE: FCAU / MI: FCA) announced today that effective June 30, 2015, Pietro Gorlier is appointed Chief Operating Officer Components reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne. Mr. Gorlier will also retain his current responsibilities as Head of Parts & Service (MOPAR) and member of the Group Executive Council. Mr. Gorlier will succeed Eugenio Razelli, who elected to leave the Group after several years of dedicated service. Chrysler readying 20 Moparized vehicles for SEMA

The Las Vegas Convention Center has plenty of space for aftermarket companies and automakers to show off their wares, and it looks like Chrysler is taking advantage of the spacious floor plan. At next month's SEMA Show, Chrysler will have a full 20 cars from its six brands decked out with Mopar gear.
As a hint of what is to come, Chrysler released a handful of teaser sketches showing glimpses of modified Jeep Cherokee, Ram 1500, Fiat 500L and Chrysler 300 concept vehicles. The automaker will also use the venue to show off a new line of Jeep Performance Parts offered by the all-new Mopar Off-Road Division. In addition to the images, Chrysler also issued a brief press release - posted below - breaking down some of the "industry-first features" that Mopar has offered in recent years.
