Check out the long tube ram intake on this AMAZING LETTER CAR - it's LEGENDARY!!

The Chrysler line introduced the so-called 'Letter' cars in 1955, with the 300 Series. These provided brute power in a luxury car and continued through the 50s and into the 60s. The Chrysler 300s from 1955 through 1958 were powered by hemi engines (331, 354, and 392 cubic inches). The later Letter 300s, 1959-1965, were powered by the new 413 cubic inch 'RB' wedge V-8. By 1961, Chrysler had run through the 300 B, C, D, E and F to this Chrysler 300-G. The 300-G was powered by a 413-cubic-inch wedge V-8. One of the last of the powerful 'Letter Cars,' this car has the 413 cubic-inch 'Wedge Head' V8 engine capable of exceptional performance.

The 1961 introduced another style change, the previous grill design was wider at the bottom than the top, was inverted. The quad headlights, formerly side-by-side were arranged in angled fashion. The taillights were moved from the fins to the tail below them. The 300-G was equipped with tail fins and eye-catching, tilted headlights. Inside, they were elegantly appointed and filled with luxurious amenities. Underneath the hood was a potent power plant that carried these large vehicles at a high rate of speed.

This very rare and desirable letter car has been treated to a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration that was completed in 2010 - the car is finished in black with a red leather interior. There are swivel seats, power windows, power steering, power brakes, power top, AIR CONDITIONING and a spare tire.

The original sticker price was just under $6000 - big money 53 years ago!

Marchionne to take his sweater and go home after 2018

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

The end is in sight for Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne, who confirmed in an interview with Bloomberg that once FCA's sweeping five-year plan is completed, he'd be stepping down from his post to "undoubtedly" do something else that didn't involve turning around global corporations. That would mean he should finish up after 2018 if all goes according to plan.
"It's as important to walk away from the table as it is to sit down," Marchionne told Bloomberg.
Marchionne has been at Fiat since June of 2004 and is one of the chief architects behind the Italian company's acquisition of Chrysler. Despite his successes, he does sound quite ready to move beyond the auto industry, rhetorically asking his Bloomberg interviewers if there "are other things I like to do apart from this?"

2015 Chrysler 200 snags EPA ratings of 18 mpg city and 29 highway

Tue, 25 Mar 2014

While Chrysler hasn't officially announced fuel economy figures for its new 200 sedan, the information for one model has just leaked out thanks to the US Department of Energy's FuelEconomy.gov website. It certified the 200 with the 295-horsepower and 262-pound-feet 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, nine-speed automatic and all-wheel drive as getting 18-miles-per-gallon city, 29-mpg highway and 22-mpg combined.
Last year's front-wheel drive 200 with a less-powerful version of the Pentastar was rated at 19-mpg city, 29-mpg highway and 22-mpg combined. That means that buyers are getting more power and all-wheel drive traction at almost no loss in economy. However, compared to current, all-wheel drive sedan competitors, the Chrysler comes in the middle. The Ford Fusion with all-wheel drive with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder has 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque is somewhat down on power but bests it in economy at 22-mpg city, 31-mpg highway and 25-mpg combined. The current Subaru Legacy 3.6R loses in both metrics with 256 hp and 247 lb-ft and a rating of 18-mpg city, 25-mpg highway and 20-mpg combined. However, Subaru claims the next generation with the same engine will boast 20-mpg city, 28-mpg highway and 23-mpg combined. But these numbers are just estimates from the automaker at the moment, and they haven't yet been certified by the EPA yet.
The numbers for the four-cylinder and front-wheel drive 200 drivetrains are not yet available, but Chrysler has been promising the sedan gets an estimated 35-mpg highway with the 184-hp and 173-lb-ft Tigershark 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. We won't know for sure until it's certified, but we'll keep you posted.
