Selling my baby. I always wanted one of these. I finally had the chance to own one when I saw this at a salvage auction. It was a theft recovery. Pics included. I replaced everything and it runs amazing. I rarely drive it. Only put 6,000 miles on it since I bought it. It was the stage 3 package. Every option available in that year. Sunroof, rain sensing wipers, navigation, etc. I had the calipers painted blue. Magnaflow exhaust. AFE intake. Catch can. Diablo tuner. Kenwood 7" navigation. Reverse camera. Tinted windows. Full led bulbs in and out. Tinted taillights. Hid fog lights. Viper 5902 remote start and alarm. Black plasti dipped grille and trunk emblem. Lowered on coilovers. Color matched 24" staggered asanti rims. 24x9 front with 245/30/24 tires. 24x11 rear with 275/25/24 tires. Very fast car. Runs like new. All of the suspension is new. Control arms upper and lower. Inner and outer tie rods. Sway bar links. Mobil 1 oil only. Shell 93 gas only. Coolant flush. Brake fluid flush.
Only selling to pay school loans. Flaws: front bumper is cracked at bottom. It was like that when I bought it. I planned on getting a new one when I finished all the mods and get the whole car reprinted. The airbag light is on. Been to the dealer twice to fix it and they said it's the airbag box that's under the passenger seat because the car I bought the seats from was wrecked and the brain needs to be replaced. And the exact milage is unknown. I ran the carfax before I bought it and it had only 53k right before it was stolen. The odometer I purchased said 25002. The only way to know it to buy a brand new odometer from the dealer and they will program the milage in it. My guess is no more than 60k. That's it. Everything else works as it should. The car is also for sale locally so I have the right to terminate this auction if need be. Call or text for more info. 614-589-0920 |

Chrysler expecting up to 200,000 9-speed transmissions for 3 models this year
Tue, 22 Jan 2013Striving for improved fuel economy, we already knew that Chrysler will begin using a nine-speed automatic transmission in some of its new products this year, but what we haven't known is that volume at which this gearbox will be used. According to Bloomberg, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted as saying that the automaker expects to sell close to 200,000 units equipped with this new transmission in 2013. Those gear-rich trannies will be spread out across three models, consisting of the redesigned Chrysler 200, the still-unnamed Jeep Liberty replacement and the Dodge Dart.
This transmission should play a pivotal role in making Chrysler vehicles more competitive in their respective segments. Just for comparison, one of the Dart's key competitors, the Toyota Corolla, still uses a four-speed automatic, and a previous report indicates that the next-generation 200 could get up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, which is better than most non-hybrid midsize sedans on the market. Marchionne says that the new Jeep model is expected during the second quarter of this year, but there is no word as to when the new 200 or nine-speed Dart will debut, but clearly Dodge would like to have the transmission in its compact yesterday. As for that volume figure, it definitely doesn't seem out of reach since the Dart, Liberty and 200 combined for a total of more than 225,000 units in 2012.
How many more gears can we expect in future cars? Probably not many more, since the CEO of transmission-builder ZF, Stefan Sommer, previously stated that nine speeds was the "natural limit" for transmissions.
NYT profiles Blue Nelson, a reclusive and interesting CA car collector
Thu, 25 Sep 2014If it weren't for his Dale Earnhardt Sr. looks, Blue Nelson could be one one of those soft-spoken, nondescript guys whom you meet briefly and never learn much more about. However, as The New York Times shows in a recent profile and video, behind closed doors, Nelson keeps a fascinatingly eclectic collection of automotive oddities and vintage bicycles.
While his main career is in the movie industry, Nelson's other job is as a car hunter. He takes on clients searching for a specific model and helps them find and restore the dream vehicle that they're after. Hiring him takes some dedication, though, because Nelson doesn't advertise his services. "If people want to find me, they know how to find me," he says in the video.
Beyond being an automotive private detective, Nelson has a fantastically varied collection of vehicles of his own. He likes to have models that people don't usually see, and his garage holds a classic Chrysler New Yorker and an extremely rare Rometsch convertible. Although, the one that means the most to him is the 1962 Porsche 356 convertible that Blue came home in as a baby. Check out the video to learn more about Nelson and his philosophy about forming a bond with a car.
NHTSA investigating Chrysler for airbags, ignition switches
Wed, 18 Jun 2014Chrysler is being targeted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in a pair of actions that focus on over 1.2 million Jeeps, minivans and crossovers.
The first is a "preliminary investigation" that focuses on an airbag issue afflicting the Jeep Commander built in model years 2006 and 2007 and Grand Cherokee from 2005 to 2006. In total, 700,000 vehicles could potentially be affected. It's not entirely clear what the airbag issue is, with The Detroit Free Press simply stating that the restraint systems in the affected Jeeps may be "faulty."
The other investigation is what's called a "recall query" and it covers a problem that General Motors should be familiar with. In this case, there could be a problem with the ignition switches of 525,000 vehicles, ranging from 2008 to 2010 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans, to the 2008 to 2010 Dodge Journey crossover. Again, it's not entirely clear what sort of behavior prompted the 32 complaints that NHTSA has received on these vehicles.
