A/C Blows COLD!

I bought this car in September of 2007 when it had about 28,000 miles on it and have kept up with all the maintenance meticulously according to Chrysler's schedule. The oil has been changed every 3000 miles with no exception. This car runs like a top. The other thing to note here is that the vast majority of these miles are highway miles. Here are some of the recent maintenance items:

-4 brand new Cooper tires at about 95K miles, with much tread left
-New Front Struts at about 88K miles
-Rear Shocks at 88K miles
-Upper control arms and all the bushings at 88K miles
-Lower control arms and all the bushings at about 75K miles
-Rear gear box oil change at 104K miles
-Air filters at about 110K miles
-Transmission flush at about 100K miles
-16 new spark plugs (HEMI engines have 16 instead of 8) at about 100K miles
-All new wires and coils (Each cyclinder has it's own coil) at about 100K miles
-All rubber boots connecting the coils to the spark plugs at about 100K miles
-Coolant flush at about 99K miles
-Power steering flush at about 100K miles
-Hood and trunk struts (so neither will close on your head like on most older cars)

This car runs great and is in good mechanical condition. I would have no reservations getting in it right now and taking a cross country road trip.

There are some cosmetic issues to note.

The biggest issue is the front bumper. It is cracked on the lower part and some of the paint has chipped. The bumper is functional as intended but if you want the car to look nice it will have to be replaced. The bumper can be bought for about $200 and I'm sure if you are handy you can have a shop paint it and put it on yourself for not much money. The reason it is cracked is because I pulled into a parking space, went up to far and scraped one of those concrete blocks at the front of the parking space.

The rear bumper on the driver side has some scratches on the lower part which can be remedied WITHOUT replacing bumper, which was caused the same way the front bumper was cracked.

On the hood and fender near the passenger side there are some small dings, again which can be repaired at not much cost.

The rest are your basic wear and tear that you would expect on a 9 year old car.

The interior is good. No tears in the seats and no cracked door panels. Seats are gray leather and the carper is black. I religiously, for years used Mother's leather cleaner and conditioner so there is NO dry rot to the leather either.

Blue Book gives this car a value of about $9100 for it's current condition but I think it might be a little higher than it should be due to some of the cosmetic issues. I am asking $7000 OBO and will entertain any reasonable offers and welcome people who would like to see the car in person first. I am asking this amount because I have recently replaced many of the expensive maintenance items that are needed around 100K miles like tires, shocks and struts.

The title is clean and the car will easily pass inspection. This is a luxury car with a touch of sport! The car can average about 23 to 24 miles per gallon on the highway. But it is a HEMI and does haul! Merging onto a highway is a breeze. These HEMI engines take very high mileage and last a long time if properly cared for, which this one is. It still has all of its power and runs like it did the day I bought it.

The accident reported that you can see on the CARFAX was a cracked rear bumper that was replaced. I was hit by someone going the wrong way up a one-way street while backing out of my driveway. There was no other damage other than the rear bumper being replaced.

Any questions, just email me and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

There are no existing warranties on this vehicle and it is sold as-is, and all sales are final. I have described in detail every single issue I know to exist with this car to help any prospective buyers make an informed decision.

Mopar celebrates 50 years of the 426 Hemi

Thu, 09 Jan 2014

Think of Chrysler performance and the names Mopar and Hemi are bound to come to mind. Chrysler and its Mopar performance parts division first introduced the original Hemi (so named for its hemispherical combustion chambers) back in 1951, celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2011. But it was thirteen years later - 50 years ago - that the Pentastar automaker rolled out the most iconic Hemi of them all: the Gen II 426.
The massive 7.0-liter V8 engine instantly became a muscle car icon and went on to become a favorite of racecar constructors. Two competition versions of the Gen II 426 Hemi were made: one for the track and one for the drag strip, and both went on to illustrious strings of victories. The race engine first debuted at the 1964 Daytona 500 where it powered Richard Petty's Plymouth to the checkered flag and on to the NASCAR championship.
Meanwhile on the drag strip, the Gen II 426 Race Hemi propelled Don Garlits past 200 miles per hour and down the quarter-mile in 7.78 seconds. Changes in NASCAR regulations meant that Chrysler devoted the engine to NHRA drag racing, and to this day the Gen II 426 Race Hemi is still used in Funny Car and Top Fuel dragsters.

Chrysler dealers terminated in bankruptcy still stuck in court

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

Part of the deal for the federal bailouts of Chrysler and General Motors was that both organizations were required to trim their vast array of dealerships. This move did not sit well with the people that would be losing out on franchises, though, and in Chrysler's case, 148 of the shuttered dealers have fought for money they feel they are entitled to.
These dealers believe that they should be compensated by the federal government, as Chrysler wouldn't have trimmed its sales centers had it not been ordered to by Uncle Sam. Now, thanks to the ruling of three judges on the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the dealers will get a chance to argue their point.
According to Automotive News, the dealers argue that the mandatory shuttering of dealers was unconstitutional, because the federal government was taking property without compensation. If the dealers are victorious, not only would the government be out millions of dollars, but a precedent could be set that would allow similarly closed GM dealerships to cash in.

FCA workers get raises, health care co-op in new UAW deal

Mon, Sep 21 2015

The pending labor agreement between FCA US and the United Auto Workers is now in the hands of union members to confirm. It's expected to be accepted, but a final decision could take weeks, The Detroit News reports. Employees didn't get everything they were hoping for, and contrary to earlier reports, the two-tier wage system remains in place. However, there are attempts to lessen the difference between the levels in this four-year deal. Assuming FCA US workers agree to this offer, the starting pay for tier-two workers would go up around a dollar to $17 an hour. The other level would now begin at $25.35, about a $6 increase, and they would receive 3 percent raises in the first and third year of the deal. Both groups also get $800 in profit sharing for each percent the automaker's profit margin rises above two percent. Extra money kicks in for the second tier above eight percent. Union members get a $3,000 bonus for accepting this contract, as well. The other major change under the pending agreement is the previously rumored switch to a healthcare co-op. The goal is to collect members from the Big Three together to create a huge member base for leverage to negotiate better rates with insurance companies. The UAW is promising no increase in cost to workers, according to The Detroit News. The idea was inspired by the similar structure for the Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association for union retirees. UAW boss Dennis Williams expects the agreement to be approved. "Once the membership looks at it, hears the explanation for it, I think they'll ratify it," he said, according to The Detroit News. The next step is to craft similar deals with General Motors and Ford. Related Video:
