1939 Chrysler Royal 2 Door Sedan Fastback Super Rare Rat Rod Hot Rod on 2040-cars

Year:1939 Mileage:1000
Location:

Forked River, New Jersey, United States

Forked River, New Jersey, United States

Here is your chance to own a rare car. Her name is Raven and she is Badass!

We have come across a lot of 4 doors in the past but never came across a 2 door 1939 Chrylser!

The 39 was a show car from the 70’s. She survived the 80’s, and was tucked away for the 90’s until now.

She is built using a 1969 Camaro subframe (drum brakes all around). It has power steering with tilt wheel. It also has Chevy leaf springs with a 373 Chevy 10 bolt rear.

Motor:

Raven has a 350 motor with a chrome water pump and billet brackets, electric fan and shorty headers. It has a Edelbrock package and chrome oil pan.

350 trans with shift kit, attached to a lokar shifter.  It also has chrome trans pan.

Interior:

Auto meter gauges, Grant steering wheel tilt steering column. It also has a heater box with switches. Updated wiring, and blinkers and airhorn.

Body:

The body is in good shape for a 75 year old girl. She has her dents, bumps, bruises, and rust. The worst spot of rust are in the inner fenders.

The glass is all new including windshield. I have two replacement side windows to replace the driver’s side.

Overall:

Overall, she is a great car-with one good day, you will be on the road. the motor sounds good, and the trans shifts. The brakes are low and need to be bled.

It comes with a bunch or parts including the bumpers, and sides for the hood. I do not have the grill, but one can be made easily.

This forgotten Chrysler was its bid for Humvee contract

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

Today, the Humvee might be as associated with the dead automotive brand from General Motors as it is with the hard-working truck that has long served as one of the backbone vehicles of America's military. But Autoline host John McElroy is showing off a practically unknown part of the model's story by digging out some old photos from his personal archive.
The High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle project, better known today as the Humvee, can be traced back to a US Department of Defense request for bids to build a new military truck. According to McElroy, he was invited to the Chrysler proving grounds in 1981 to check out the bid from the brand's defense division. The company's concept was that it might be able to build an inexpensive, capable vehicle by using off-the-shelf parts.
The angular body panels gave the truck a look almost like a modern, stealth vehicle. However, the flat look was actually just to make the tooling as cheap as possible to produce. Still, this Chrysler looked surprisingly futuristic for the early '80s. It's actually not too far away from the famous Lamborghini LM002, itself intended as a possible military-spec machine.

Chrysler recalling 780k minivans over fire risk

Fri, 09 May 2014

Chrysler is recalling 780,000 of its Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans from the 2010 to 2014 model years due to the possibility of circuits overheating, which can lead to a fire. Of the 780,000 total vans being recalled, Chrysler estimates that 644,850 are in the US, 106,980 are in Canada, 8,009 are in Mexico, and 20,638 are in other markets. All of the affected vehicles were built between August 25, 2010 and October 31, 2013.
Chrysler's engineers discovered that beverage spills or exposure to moisture (from rain, snow, car washes, and the like) were linked to circuits shorting in the window switch assembly. Short circuits can overheat, and thus, cause a fire.
Chrysler will contact owners and let them know when they may schedule service, at which point, the window switches will be replaced. In the interim, the automaker says that owners may visit their dealers after May 14 to have the switches disconnected.

Chrysler shows creative side with employee art exhibit

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

The United Auto Workers and Chrysler recently sponsored 92 works of art created by 50 of the automaker's unionized and salaried employees for the 2013-14 Artists at Work Exhibition, the ninth such show, which recognizes the creative process required to make art and manufacture vehicles. Chrysler says the event is "the country's only juried art show sponsored by a major corporation and a labor union." Unfortunately, the exhibit is not open to the public, but we have images to share of the winning pieces as well as other interesting exhibits in the gallery above.
"Art and manufacturing have more in common than you might think," says Keith Mickens, Chrysler-UAW National Training Center co-director from the UAW. "The creative process involved in producing a memorable image on a canvas can be used to help build quality vehicles on an assembly line."
A diverse range of art forms are showcased, from metal sculptures to ceramics to photography to paintings and more. Four Detroit-area professional artists narrowed down over 600 submissions to the 92 works of art that were shown at the exhibit, then awarded "Best of Show" prizes to three employees for their work (the first three images in our gallery) and selected 11 employees for honorable mentions. The overall winner is the sculpture above by Joseph Aiuto, titled "Childhood Anxiety."
