Please contact me before bidding!  This is a lease assumption, not a sale, and requires credit approval.

Pick-up the lease on my Chevrolet Volt.  The car is fully loaded and includes all the usual power accessories plus leather, navigation, heated seats and hard drive/ipod connector.

The Chevrolet Volt is an amazing peice of technology.  Mine has gone 14,200 miles on 8.5 gallons of gasoline!! (see dash picture).  That is about $2,400 saved in gasoline I didn't purchase.

As I am sure you are aware the Chevrolet Volt will go approximately 40 miles on battery power alone.  Enough for most people to do their daily driving and plug back in when they get home.  Unlike the other battery powered cars currently on the market the Volt will not strand you with a dead battery.  It simply starts its gas motor/generator and you can drive and refuel like an ordinary car with unlimited range.  My needs have changed and I will let someone take over the remainder of the lease.  The lease is $350 per month plus your local sales tax.  On auto leases sales tax is added to each payment instead of sales tax on the entire car.  I am in Tennessee and my payment with sales tax is $374.50.  Don't forget - you aren't buying much (if any) gas.  If you could lease a comparable gasoline powered car for $200 per month, and it got 20 mpg it might cost you more in total monthly expense than the Volt.

The leasing company (US Bank) charges $500 to transfer the lease.  There is also a $150 charge to apply for the lease.  For $650 you can take over the lease and be driving this fully loaded Volt.

The lease has approximately 21,500 miles and 14 months remaining.  However I have already paid February so you would have 13 lease payments to make for the next 14 months.  The lease ends 3/31/14 and there is a $395 lease termination fee when turning the car in.  The Volt is under warrenty until after the lease runs out.  It is perfect and without dents or any damage.  Also, the car can be purchased by the lessee at the end of the lease term for approximately $26,510.40.

If you are intrigued by the Volt and want to try one this is an extremely economical way to drive one and get to know the technology.

In addition, I have an optional 220 Volt charger which I will sell separately (if you want it) for $450.  The Volt's standard 110 volt charger is included.

This is subject to the buyer being accepted by the leasing company and the buyer is responsible for transporting the car.  The car is offerred elsewhere and this listing is subject to closing early.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. 2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray vs the world: How it compares on paper

Mon, Jul 22 2019

The 2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray in its base form offers an astonishing amount of performance for the money. In fact, so impressive is the car's spec sheet that the Corvette kind of exists in two different competitive sets: one of cars priced similarly, and another with cars of similar performance and reputation. To get a feel for how it handles each of these segments, we've compiled specifications for those two sets of players. You can find the first set below, which looks at cars of roughly the same price point. Following that is a bit of analysis, and then there's a chart of cars with similar performance and reputation. And that chart will also have some analysis. Though final pricing for the Corvette hasn't been announced yet, we know the Corvette will start at less than $60,000. And as far as pricing goes, its closest competitor is the Porsche 718 Cayman, which also starts at just under $60,000. Both are mid-engined and rear-drive, but the Corvette offers an extra 195 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. The Cayman does boast a curb weight of right around 3,000 pounds, so it weighs a few hundred pounds less than the Corvette, but it's likely not enough to make up for the power deficit. The Corvette's sub-3.0-second 0-60 time bears this out against the Cayman's best 4.5-second run. Impressively, though, the Cayman has more cargo space than the Corvette in a package that's nearly 10 inches shorter. The Cayman also still offers a manual option for those that prefer self-shifting. The 2020 Toyota Supra is on the cheap end of this sports car class, just crossing $50,000. It also boasts more power than the Cayman, though it's still down by 160 ponies and 105 pound-feet of torque to the C8. It's also about as roomy as the Corvette, despite being about the same size as the Cayman. Cargo space is a bit tighter. Its driving characteristics will likely differ, too as the Supra sits on a front-engine platform. It might even feel closer to a C7 Corvette in some ways. The other mid-engine entry in this price range is the 2019 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider. Its small 1.7-liter turbo inline-4 only makes 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, but it's also far and away the lightest of this group at 2,487 pounds. That's roughly 1,000 pounds lighter than the Corvette. It isn't as fast as the Corvette in a straight line, but that lightness surely pays dividends in cornering and braking.

EcoCar3 will convert Camaro to bitchin' eco rides

Sat, Apr 26 2014

In the 47-year-history of the Chevrolet Camaro, there have been countless college-age kids spending a ton of time getting under the hood and souping 'em up. Now, General Motors is adding a twist to the concept by donating 16 Camaros for the EcoCar challenge that puts university teams together to wring out better fuel-efficiency out of various vehicles. No word on whether there will be donuts on anyone's lawn, as suggested by 80's punks the Dead Milkmen, but the idea's never a bad one. EcoCar3 will feature 16 teams such as Arizona State, Penn State, Ontario's University of Waterloo and, of course, Detroit's Wayne State University. They'll spend the next four years "[reducing] environmental impact, while maintaining the muscle and performance expected from this iconic American car," as the EcoCar organizers say. The goal is to maintain body design and safety standards while boosting efficiency and lowering emissions, but the actual process is far more complicated than that description suggests. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Bosch are among the sponsors of the contest, which is also put on by the US Department of Energy and managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Penn State won Year Two of the three-year EcoCar 2 competition with its E85 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle converted out of a Chevy Malibu. The grand-prize winner of EcoCar2 will be announced in June. Check out the EcoCar3 website and see the announcement video below for more details. This content is hosted by a third party.
