This was and still is very 'my style' with the active alarm, 'remote start' and the DVD system included as a used purchase! I want to sell it to pay the entire remaining money owed and have some for my next ride.

I did notice a scratch on the hood. its not big but I don't know how it got there.

This is my first 'Financed' vehicle ever and wish to sell it to finish off my auto-loan more quickly. Mainly for a better gas mileage daily ride or maybe an electric hybrid. I would buy 'electric' if I could afford it so I want the asking price and nothing less. So, if you are interested please be advised I am trying my best to sell it and get the full asking amount for my bank to pay the entire remaining money owed and have some for my next ride. I want to sell it locally and I hope you are not expecting any thing else. If you are near Iowa City area or border Iowa then I can see that happening but please be a serious bidder if you choose this Uplander today. Thanks.

Make an appointment to take it for a test drive after 6PM any day of the week. My # is posted below. I live near Coral Ridge Mall. Reminder: I will re-list this 'Vantastic Ride' as well until I sell it. FYI!

All the info is here. Please ask questions if you want. (For easy contact: My name is Chris & My Local #319-383-3434 ) Thanks again.

RECENT NOTES: I know there was no 'issues' when I bought this three months ago stated with the initial descriptions. After buying the Uplander I noticed some 'things'. #1) the transmission is over filled with fluid. I don't know why but it is. And there are some acceleration problems due to the transmission. Kind of scary at this point since I am financing it. #2) The alarm system is 'need of service' ??? No idea why because it worked last week. #3) I can not use the rear vent windows from the driver seat. There is no button or option? #4) The glove box is out of order completely. #5) The gas mileage is actually getting noticeably worse. Not sure how or why? It was better the first week that is all I can say. #6) DVD reader is not great. Some discs don't read at all. #7) Back carpet area is discolored. #8) Rear bumper was 'banged' and marked slightly.

The price is what it is and its worth the price if you want a 'nice ride' but not BMW costs. This is MY ride and I am driving it everyday. I said it will be continually re-listed and so it will be here when you come back to get it. Thanks for reading.

Watch the National Corvette Museum sinkhole being filled in by R/C cars

Sun, Jan 11 2015

Okay, so not exactly cars, but Bobcats - but still quite cool. You might remember that the National Corvette Museum had that little divot that needed to be filled in. Turns out the construction firm of Scott, Murphy & Daniel doing the work is using two remote-controlled Bobcats to fill the sinkhole with "manufactured sand," which in this case is crushed limestone. It appears that the Bobcat company has offered remote operation since at least 2007 via a wireless transmitter that works up to 1,500 feet away. So yes, that means two SMD employees stand on the edge of the pit and flick joystick levers for hours at a time, one in charge of a Bobcat with a roller-compactor attachment, the other in charge of a Bobcat with a bucket. And that, to us, is a pretty good way to earn the daily bread. Check out the video above for the latest sinkhole update. Chevy EN-V 2.0 coming to Tianjin Eco-City in China

Fri, Jun 20 2014

Chevrolet is bringing its EN-V 2.0 to the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City in China to show off the "Electric Networked-Vehicle" and demonstrate sustainable urban mobility. The small, two-seat EV concept is an updated version of the original EN-V, a vision of getting around in a future world where space is at a premium and clean air is a priority. So what better place to showcase the evolved EN-V than at the Tianjin Eco-City? The Eco-City is being developed as a planned urban space with eco-consciousness built in. The joint venture between China and Singapore offers an alternative to country living and smog-filled cities. Tianjin Eco-City, slated to be completed by 2020, will be able to offer 350,000 inhabitants clean air and water, renewable energy, green transportation and living spaces and, if all goes as planned, jobs for 50 percent of the residents. Currently, only about three square kilometers of the planned 30 square kilometers have been built, with only about 6,000 permanent residents, but there's still time. The EN-V 2.0, as the "Networked" part of its name suggests, not only features mobile internet, but can communicate with other cars around it. Along with GPS and built-in sensors, this connection between vehicles allows the car to drive autonomously (at least in theory - again, there's still time). This is ideal in an urban environment where congestion can be a major issue. The EN-V 2.0 improves upon the original concept with climate control, storage space and all-weather capability, which also make life more bearable and daily commuting possible. We first saw renderings of the updated vehicle in 2012. The Chevrolet EN-V 2.0 will be used in the Eco-City's National Animation Industry Park and Eco-Business Park of the course of the two-week demonstration. Read on below for more in the press release from GM. GM to Demonstrate Chevrolet EN-V 2.0 in Tianjin Eco-City SHANGHAI – General Motors today announced that it will begin demonstrating the Chevrolet EN-V 2.0 (Electric Networked-Vehicle) in the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City this week, signaling the company's learning and progress in sustainable urban mobility. The demonstration will help GM further understand consumers' usage of low-speed transportation tools for their daily commute. During the two-week demonstration period, the EN-V 2.0s will be used in the National Animation Industry Park and Eco-Business Park inside the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City.

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
