2011 Chevrolet Traverse 2lt Sport Utility 4-door 3.6l on 2040-cars
Springfield, Illinois, United States
For your consideration, I am selling a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse 2LT. This vehicle is in excellent condition with 68,881 miles, 3.6 liter six cylinder fuel injected DOHC gasoline engine, shiftable automatic 6-speed transmission, all wheel drive, four wheel antilock disc brakes and seating for seven passengers.
This Traverse is an excellent looking, running and driving vehicle which offers 26 plus MPG with approximately 352 (city) to 550 (hwy) mileage range. The 3.6 liter engine is extremely clean, electronic ignition, runs smoothly and quietly at idle, does not miss or smoke and produces 281 hp and 266 ft-lbs of torgue. The engine is mated to a shift-able automatic 6-speed transmission which shifts seamlessly and is very responsive in passing gears. This is a Cross-Over Sport Utility Vehicle but drives more like a mid-size car with very desirable comfort features, loads of horse-power, responsive handling, excellent braking and a ride quality comparable to any luxury vehicle. The exterior of this SUV is in excellent condition and shows extremely well; the paint is silver metallic with high gloss and deep shine. The body panels are laser straight with no dents or physical damage. All glass is clean and clear, all power windows raise/lower as anticipated. The wheels are 20" aluminum five spoke in near perfect condition with deep tread Goodyear Fortera tires. The rear lift-gate is equipped with a rear view camera (monitor is located in the rear view mirror) and opens and closes automatically via remote key fob, console control or lift gate control. All exterior lights work and function as anticipated and this vehicle is equipped with the towing package option including cabin mounted trailer brake. The interior features charcoal leather, heated eight-way adjustable front bucket seats with adjustable lumbar support, collapsible passenger row bucket seats and collapsible third row bench seat (seating for seven total) all of which are in like new condition. The carpet is flawless charcoal and the headliner is clean and tight. The dash is in perfect condition as well as the center console section and arm rest. Conveniences include: PS, PDB, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, remote door locks and alarm, XM compatible CD player with 10-Bose speakers and steering wheel controls, Blue tooth, MP3, USB auxiliary port, three zone 12 volt adapters, vanity mirror inserts, three zone reading lights, Destination Guidance Service, OnStar, DVD player with two monitors, internal tie down points and luggage rack. The front/rear heaters warm quickly and the air blows ice cold. All interior gauges and lighting functions as anticipated, owner's manual and factory literature is included within the glove compartment. As noted this vehicle will come with an Illinois issued rebuilt title. Within the first year of purchase, this vehicle slid into a median which damaged the rear passenger wheel and bent a control arm of the independent suspension. These items were professionally replaced with OEM parts and fully inspected by the IL Secretary of State. This vehicle was "never" involved in a vehicle to vehicle collision nor has it ever had any panel work. The original owner had full-replacement coverage thus the vehicle was replaced by the insurance company which by default labeled this vehicle as rebuilt. I have spoken with and have the contact information for the repair center where the repair was completed and I would be happy to pass this information along to you if you desire further verification. The Chevrolet Traverse 2LT is categorized as a mid-sized cross-over SUV, well appointed, comfortable; reliable with a five star safety rating. I believe any interested party would agree that this definition applies to the vehicle I am offering for sale; this SUV has just about every option available in 2011, it is not a perfect but very close. This Traverse is a no excuses vehicle; fresh synthetic oil/filter change, meticulously detailed, there are no warning lights illuminated on the instrument cluster, first rate ride and drivability and this SUV will need nothing at the time of purchase. It is a very comfortable, extremely easy to operate, own and maintain vehicle. I encourage you to come and inspect this vehicle in person or have this vehicle inspected by any individual or service center you deem reliable in determining the value of this SUV. . .you will not be disappointed. Please text or call Mark at two one seven, four nine four, two eight seven five, for more photos, information, viewing or test drive. |

GM won't sell 2014 Chevrolet SS in Canada
Thu, 21 Feb 2013Allow us to be the first to extend our condolences to our friends to the north. General Motors has announced the 2014 Chevrolet SS will not be available in Canada. The Globe and Mail reports the automaker has confirmed the high-performance sedan won't hit Canadian dealers, though GM hasn't offered up any reasoning as to why that is.
Buyers here in the US of A, meanwhile, can look forward to getting their hands on the 415-horspower, rear-wheel drive SS by late summer. Something tells us it won't be long after that before Canadian officials start seeing individually imported 6.2-liter V8 four-doors in their neighborhoods. Fortunately, Canadian buyers will still be able to take home the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The C7 bowed at the Canadian International Auto Show last week, reportedly drawing sizable crowds and interest.
Former Fisker CEO has some advice for Tesla Motors
Wed, Oct 22 2014Former Fisker Automotive CEO and ex-Chevrolet Volt vehicle-line director Tony Posawatz has some words of caution for Tesla Motors. The long-time automaker executive questions the California automaker's long-term viability – and gives some praise – in a talk with Benzinga, which you can listen to below. While the all-wheel-drive D that Tesla unveiled earlier this month in Southern California wowed a packed crowd, Posawatz (starting at around minute 4:45 in the interview) says Tesla would've been better off taking the resources it expended toward that Model S upgrade and directed them towards speeding up the development of a more affordable plug-in. Perhaps a number of investors agreed, since the company's stock fell the day after the D was announced. Posawatz says Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of ZEV credits. Posawatz also says that Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of zero-emissions vehicle credits in California for its earnings and questions whether the automaker will ever work at a large enough scale to sufficiently drive down costs and make consistent profits. Tesla CEO Elon Musk would take issue with this characterization. Posawatz first made his mark in the plug-in vehicle world when he was the vehicle-line director at General Motors for the Volt extended-range plug-in from 2006 to 2012. Later that year, he joined extended-range plug-in maker Fisker Automotive as its CEO, though quit that job during the summer of 2013 as the company was descending into insolvency. He joined the Electrification Coalition this past March. News Source: Benzinga Green Chevrolet Fisker Tesla Electric PHEV Tony Posawatz
1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28
Mon, Jan 12 2015Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won.
