This hard to find beauty has the 6.5 Litre GM Turbo Diesel. If you know these trucks, you know that they are rare, and don’t come up for sale often, especially in great, rust-free condition like this one. Here are the details:

1996 K1500 Tahoe LS

Mileage: 186,982.

6.5 Turbo Diesel engine with recent fuel injection pump. Starts and runs beautifully.

1996 Diesel means no smog is needed - ever.

2nd Owner - bought in 2005.

Stock dual batteries and new alternator.

4 speed automatic overdrive transmission, 4 wheel drive. Running great – no issues.

Tow package with hitch and trailer wiring.

Stock wheels with Toyo Open Country tires, 265/75R16.

White paint and body are in good shape. Some small touch-up areas around window, bumper.

Blue/Gray cloth interior. Great shape. All factory gauges work.

15 gallon 2^nd tank setup for running on vegetable oil, including heated filter system. Currently not hooked up.

Power locks & windows.

Last 2 pics are of the hot-water-jacketed vegetable oil filter, and the 3 gauge pillar pod with aux fuel level, aux fuel temp, and aux fuel vacuum (high vacuum means filter needs changing soon), which are not currently hooked up.

Issues:

· Passenger inside door handle broken. Door opens fine from outside. See pic.

· Hood release plastic handle broken. Hood still opens. See pic.

· Bumpers have a few small dents. See pics.

· There are a few touch up spots on the paint and some small areas of touched up surface rust. NO structural rust. See pics.

· Had issues with vegetable oil kit supplying enough fuel to run the big 6.5 Litre diesel engine when accelerating hard, like up a big hill or to merge on freeway, so the auxiliary fuel system is currently disconnected. Needs a bigger fuel pump and maybe larger diameter fuel lines to flow enough vegetable oil under load.

I I have not been driving it since I got a VW TDI wagon, and the registration is expired. Went to the DMV to find out the cost of reregistering it:

$900 back registration and late fees.

$500 parking tickets! DMV source says that new owner isn't liable for tickets, but I'm including it here in case that's wrong.

Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video

If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.

Motor Trend reveals 2016 Chevy Camaro as Car of the Year

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro beat some very steep competition to earn the Golden Calipers as Motor Trend's Car of the Year. The magazine praised the sixth generation's fantastic engines, great handling, and lighter platform. "Our 2016 Car of the Year, the Chevrolet Camaro, is one of the finest driving vehicles in the world at any price," editor-in-chief Edward Loh said, "though its price is well within reach of the average consumer." The Camaro conquered some high-performance challengers to take the victory, including the Audi TT, Mazda MX-5 Miata, and Mercedes AMG GT S. It also bested technologically cutting-edge vehicles like the BMW 7 Series and Toyota Mirai. The latest Honda Civic rounded out the competition. To earn the prestigious award, nine judges evaluated the finalists in six categories: advancement in design, engineering excellence, safety, efficiency, value, and performance of intended function. The Volkswagen Golf won last year. In an engaging story on Motor Trend's website, it explains what a revelation the new coupe is and that they consider the model the best production pony car ever. The piece is well worth a read. Motor Trend also handed out the Person of the Year honor to Subaru of America President and Chief Operating Officer Thomas Doll. The finalists for the 2017 North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year were announced Tuesday at AutoMobility LA ahead of the 2016 LA Auto Show. Approximately 60 judges, including Autoblog's editor-in-chief Mike Austin, evaluated over 40 vehicles and named three models as the finalists in each category. The award for the Utility Vehicle of the Year is new for 2017 and separates SUVs, crossovers, and minivans from pickup trucks.
