Up for bids is my 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LT SUV. I purchased the Tahoe in 2007. At that time it had 3,660 miles showing. As you can see, it now has 178,482 miles showing, mostly road miles. My wife and I did a lot of traveling when I retired!

Before I continue with the condition of the car, let me explain the title problem. When I purchased the car from a dealer friend in Arkansas he told me the car was a General Motors “buy back” and as a result GM had completely replaced the engine which obviously had problems from the factory. Recently, while negotiating a trade, I was informed the Tahoe had a “Branded Title”. My research found a “Branded Title” is now a general term referring to any vehicle with a major problem in it’s history. These “problems” can include submerged, fire damaged, frame damaged, etc. including salvage vehicles and in my case a “Dealer Buy-back”. I had no idea the installation of a brand new engine (a good thing in my opinion) would affect the title. It does unfortunately, so, to be honest; it has a negative affect on it’s value but not at all on it’s condition or performance!          . THIS TAHOE IS NOT SALVAGE! I can assure you I have had very few problems after enjoying the car for the last 4 or 5 years.

Now, let me tell you about my Tahoe! Even though it is the LT model, it has several options not usually included in the LT package. The best of these is a power lift gate, remote start and I added the LTZ front grill trim. Of course it has front heated seats, all leather interior and I also added the wood grain steering wheel which can be removed. Not permanently attached!

It also comes with a complete set of “Buddy Liners” to cover all carpet, front to rear. Also notice the “mud fender guards” included. I removed them after purchase. They can be easily reattached if desired.

Of course it has all the “creature comforts” available in 2007. Power and heated front seats, tow package, Bose Sound System, XM and On Star equipped, six in-dash CD player, etc, etc.

As you can see from the posted pictures there are very few small exterior blemishes and the interior is as clean as shown in the pictures. All tires are the same as the one shown with at least another 10,000 miles left on the tread. All features work on this Tahoe!

This Tahoe has also been meticulously maintained. I have all of the service records. In the last two years I have replaced the fuel pump, alternator, two heater hoses, had a complete “tune-up” done including plugs and plug wires, new air filter and a quality Interstate battery! Included in my maintenance program are TWO transmission flushes and one rear end fluid flush and, of course routine oil changes according to manufacturer recommendations. It truly runs like a “new car” even with the higher mileage.

So, if you are in the market for a beautiful Tahoe, well maintained, here’s one for you.

Please note: If you are interested and plan to finance your purchase, be sure to contact your lender. Some will not finance high mileage vehicles.

I have done my absolute best to describe everything about the car. Please, if you are interested, I would strongly suggest you inspect the car here in Augusta, GA. to you or your representative. I will also allow a mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection at buyer’s expense.

Also, if I missed any pictures you would like or if you have questions concerning the title or any other issues, just contact me and I will provide anything you request. Nothing to hide here!

I will also consider helping with delivery within 500 miles. If this helps, just let me know and we will discuss costs.

I doubt you will find another Tahoe with the latest body style in this condition for anywhere near my starting bid. Due to my unfortunate title problems, my loss is your gain! I still can’t understand why having GM replace the engine could result in a negative title designation, seems to me that would be a plus! I guess I’ll never know.

This vehicle is sold “as is” with no warranty or returns.

Buyer responsible for pick-up or delivery.

A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 via PayPal, cashiers check or money order required within 48 hours of auction end. Balance due within 7 days via Cashier’s check.

Thanks for looking and be sure to contact me with any questions!

Impala SS vs. Marauder: Recalling Detroit’s muscle sedans

Thu, Apr 30 2020

Impala SS vs. Marauder — it was comparo that only really happened in theory. ChevyÂ’s muscle sedan ran from 1994-96, while MercuryÂ’s answer arrived in 2003 and only lasted until 2004. TheyÂ’re linked inextricably, as there were few options for powerful American sedans during that milquetoast period for enthusiasts. The debate was reignited recently among Autoblog editors when a pristine 1996 Chevy Impala SS with just 2,173 miles on the odometer hit the market on Bring a Trailer. Most of the staff favored the Impala for its sinister looks and said that it lived up to its billing as a legit muscle car. Nearly two-thirds of you agree. We ran an unscientific Twitter poll that generated 851 votes, 63.9 percent of which backed the Impala. Muscle sedans, take your pick: — Greg Migliore (@GregMigliore) April 14, 2020 Then and now enthusiasts felt the Impala was a more complete execution with guts. The Marauder, despite coming along later, felt more hacked together, according to prevailing sentiments. Why? On purpose and on paper theyÂ’re similar. The ImpalaÂ’s 5.7-liter LT1 V8 making 260 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque was impressive for a two-ton sedan in the mid-Â’90s. The Marauder was actually more powerful — its 4.6-liter V8 was rated at 302 hp and 318 lb-ft. The ImpalaÂ’s engine was also used in the C4 Corvette. The MarauderÂ’s mill was shared with the Mustang Mach 1. You can see why they resonated so deeply with Boomers longing for a bygone era and also captured the attention of coming-of-age Gen Xers. Car and DriverÂ’s staff gave the Marauder a lukewarm review back in ‘03, citing its solid handling and features, yet knocking the sedan for being slow off the line. In a Hemmings article appropriately called “Autopsy” from 2004, the ImpalaÂ’s stronger low-end torque and smooth shifting transmission earned praise, separating it from the more sluggish Mercury. All of this was captured in the carsÂ’ acceleration times, highlighting metrically the differences in their character. The Impala hit 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds, while the Marauder was a half-second slower, according to C/D testing. Other sites have them closer together, which reinforces the premise it really was the little things that separated these muscle cars. Both made the most of their genetics, riding on ancient platforms (FordÂ’s Panther and General MotorsÂ’ B-body) that preceded these cars by decades. Both had iconic names.

2019 Toyota Avalon vs. full-size sedans: How they compare on paper

Mon, Apr 23 2018

Full-size sedans aren't exactly in great demand at the moment, and at least one of the vehicles in this comparison has been rumored to be on the endangered species list. Yet, we've just had our first drive in the 2019 Toyota Avalon, and if anything has a chance of rejuvenating the segment a bit, it's an all-new version of what has long been the segment's benchmark. To see how the new Avalon compares, we've put together the below spreadsheet featuring the Avalon's primary apples-to-apples rivals, the Buick LaCrosse and Chevy Impala. We also included the Nissan Maxima, which is comparable in price, sales and non-luxury badge, and which offers the sort of increased driver engagement promised by the new Avalon XSE and Touring trim levels. We also included the outgoing Avalon for reference as well as that car's luxury cousin, the Lexus ES, which can definitely be cross-shopped with the luxuriously trimmed Avalon Limited. You can use our Compare Cars tool to create your own comparison, such as one featuring the rear-wheel-drive Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger or even Kia Stinger. Alright, enough chit chat. On to the spreadsheet. Performance and fuel economy The GM sedans may come standard with four cylinders, including a mild hybrid system in the LaCrosse, but puh-lease. The V6 is the name of the game in this segment, with outputs now surpassing the 300-horsepower mark. The LaCrosse is the horsepower and torque champ, though it also weighs a bit more than the new 2019 Avalon, so acceleration is likely to be comparable. The Impala weighs a lot more and has only a six-speed automatic, so despite having a wee bit more power, one should expect it to be pokier (not a good sign for a car rumored to be on the chopping block). One would expect the Maxima's 300 hp and lowest curb weight to result in the quickest acceleration, but then it's also strapped to a CVT, which despite being better than ever, is still a CVT. Things get worse for Chevy when you consider the Impala's base four-cylinder gets the same 25 mpg combined as the Avalon's V6 — once again a segment best. Now, should you really prioritize fuel economy, the 2019 Toyota Avalon Hybrid really stands out with a 43 mpg rating (or 44 with the base XLE trim) that bests the outgoing Avalon Hybrid. Honestly, after driving this new Hybrid, it actually seems like it would be the best bet for most buyers. There's sufficient power, and it only costs $1,000 more than the comparable V6 version.

GM to invest $150 million in Flint to boost heavy-duty pickup production

Thu, Jun 13 2019

FLINT, Mich. — General Motors President Mark Reuss said on Wednesday that the automaker is investing about $150 million at its Flint Assembly plant in Michigan to boost production of heavy duty trucks by another 40,000 vehicles a year. Reuss announced the investment at the Flint truck assembly plant wearing a United Auto Workers pin. The Detroit automaker had announced back in February it was adding 1,000 jobs in Flint to build a new generation of heavy-duty pickup trucks. GM did not say that the latest investment would add more jobs at the plant, but Reuss said there could be opportunities to add workers as the launch of the automaker's new trucks progresses. GM has been under pressure from President Donald Trump and lawmakers of both parties to add jobs in the United States after it said last November it would idle the Chevy Cruze assembly plant in Lordstown, Ohio, and likewise had no new products for three other U.S. manufacturing plants. The Flint investment will include upgrades to the plant's conveyors and other new tooling, and will be completed in the first half of 2020. GM has invested more than $1.6 billion in the plant since 2013. Last month, GM said it would invest $24 million to increase truck production at its assembly plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana, which makes Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra models. Sales of heavy-duty pickups in the United States have grown to more than 600,000 vehicles a year, up more than 20 percent since 2013, according to industry data. Prices for luxury models can easily top $70,000. GM's Chevrolet and GMC brands have long trailed Ford's F-series heavy duty trucks in the lucrative segment. The new Chevrolet and GMC heavy duty trucks have been re-engineered to tow heavier trailers, and keep pace in what has become an arms race among the Detroit Three automakers to claim superior torque and towing capability.
