Envelope Full of Receipts!!!!!

The truck started as Z56 Police Pursuit Package Tahoe. If you google Z56 Tahoe you will see this was the best stock chassis to start with, HD brakes, HD suspension, lower ride height, and 2WD are some of the factory Z56 features.
On the mechanical side, I tossed the factory iron block 5.3L and replaced it with a Corvette LS1 5.7 Aluminum short block with factory flat top pistons, New Clevite Bearings, ARP Rod Bolts, 241 Heads with Partriot Gold Double Springs, GM MLS Head Gasket, Comp Cams custom grind 230/232 .601 lift cam, Melling LS6 High Flow Oil Pump, Cloyes LS2 Timing Set, All new GM factory replacement gaskets from the dealer. The engine is at about 10:1 compression, tuned for 93 pump gas, and runs great and makes about 450-500HP crank, soon to be higher with a little more tuning.
Exhaust starts with polished Stainless OBX Long Tube Headers to V-Band clamps connecting it to a full Stainless 3in true dual over the axel out the rear to polished Stainless SLP 4in tips running through Stainless Magnaflow straight through mufflers and a DynoMax Stainless Cross-Flow Muffler (X-Pipe). This exhaust was all done right, mandrel bends, all stainless hardware and stainless wire was used for welding. This will last forever and sounds amazing, nice rumble down low that wakes up when you get on it.
The rear end was replaced with 4:10 gears and an Eaton posi unit, Installed by a professional and is what Eaton calls their "Bullet-Proof" rear end.
The Transmission was rebuilt. It shifts awesome, nice and firm and does not slip at all. Should last for many years and the transmission computer was tuned along with everything else to handle the added power.
The brakes were all just replaced with ceramic pads all the way around and new calipers in the front. This truck does have the Heavy Duty braking package and stops with lots of power.

Starting front to back with the SS front bumper, then the SS grills, next the body color header panel, then the clear corner lenses, and hide-away fog lights. I added the HID 8000K headlights, they are in proper projector housings with proper cut-offs that will light up the road and not blind oncoming traffic. Next was to shave any body molding, clear the roof, and color match the door handles. I also ceramic painted the calipers and added Chevrolet high temp caliper decals. The look of this truck is 2nd to none and a real eye catcher. 1 of a kind and receive complements all the time.

Now for the "Good News/Bad News" section...

The Good:...
You have a truck with a newer engine, lots of power that is going to last a really long time because it has all now quality parts. Transmission has been rebuilt and tuned for the power, so it will last for many years to come. The rear end internals are all brand new too and with performance parts. The entire drivetrain is rebuilt or new and is ready for years and years of long term reliable service. The truck is still a 2006 and is pretty new. I have used "Rust Proofing" on the underside of the truck, and it is mostly rust free although it is a Buffalo vehicle and rust proofing last 2yrs at best here, I recommend doing it again next winter if it is something you care to do. The truck has never had a trailer hitch and never been used for towing or heavy loads. I have the title clean and clear in hand with no leins. I have almost $6K in receipts for most of the work and parts that have been put on this truck. The brakes are all new within the past month, and the carpet is brand new.

The Bad:....
Minor crack in the windsheild up above the rear view mirror. The front bumper is "a good 10 footer" it has at this point more touch-up paint on it than actual paint (not really that much, but a lot). The paint all around has some scratches. The heated seats are not yet wired, I have not had the time since I put the new seats in. The rear wiper does not work, and I never cared to figure out why because I don't use it anyway. The truck has 165K miles on it, I know it's high for the year, but you would never guess it looking at it, and the drivetrain has low miles on it now. Will need at least the idler arm and pitman arm replaced before it will pass inspection.

Car is being sold as-is but please do not hesitate to ask me any questions. I Can take additional pictures for interested parties if needed but the pictures of it already posted make a pretty good representation of the condition. I respond the fastest that I am able to

2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala

Fri, 31 May 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head

Fri, Jan 30 2015

"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is a Swiss hit

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

We've just received an early peek at the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible here at the Geneva Motor Show. General Motors was kind enough to let us attend the final dress-rehearsal for its press conference scheduled for tomorrow's opening media day, and we've come away with a good look at the droptop C7 in person.
In the metal, the new Corvette Convertible seems somehow less avant-garde than the Coupe, even in Z51 Performance Package guise. That's not necessarily a bad thing - more of an observation. That initial impression may be because the C7's new greenhouse is one of its most prominent departures from Corvettes past. While we didn't get to see the top erected, there's no rear side window in the stock images that Chevy has already released, suggesting the C7 convertible's profile will look a lot like its C6 predecessor. And with the new power tonneau cover in place, there are also no rear ducts that come as part of the Z51 package (they've been moved under the car).
As with its predecessor, the tonneau is a handsome double-bubble piece, and the body-color "waterfall" element into the cabin between the seats has made it to the new model as well. Thus, the overall look with the top down should be a bit more familiar to prior-gen C6 owners - if you're one of those put off by the C7's new shape, you'll probably appreciate the convertible bodystyle more than the coupe.
