Panel Suburban: 350, Auto, 2wd, Wood Bed, New Seats, Great History, Very Rare !! on 2040-cars
1970 Chevy Panel Suburban - Several automotive companies in the United States used the "suburban"
designation to indicate a windowed or panel sided, station wagon type body on a commercial frame including Dodge,
Plymouth, Studebaker, Nash, Chevrolet, and GMC. Chevrolet began production of its all-steel "carryall-suburban"
in 1935. GMC brought out its version in 1937. These vehicles were also known as the "Suburban Carryall" until GM
cut the name to simply "Suburban." With the end of production of the Dodge Town Wagon in 1966 and the Plymouth
Suburban station wagon in 1978, only General Motors continued to manufacture a vehicle branded as a "Suburban",
and GM was awarded an exclusive trademark on the name in 1988. The Chevrolet Suburban is still one of the largest
SUVs on the market today. It has outlasted competitive vehicles such as the International Harvester Travelall,
Jeep Wagoneer, and the Ford Excursion.
Looking for a great shop truck or just a fan of rare Chevys? This classic Suburban is great for just about any goal you have in mind for buying a classic. It is rare and restored if you are looking to buy an appreciating asset. It drives great and has plenty of cargo space if you choose to put her to work. And it would make a unique mobile billboard should you choose to advertise your business and take advantage of some tax write-offs. And talk about having a cool history .....This Suburban was restored by the nephew of the original owner. The original owner helped build the MGM Grand Hotel in Vegas and used the Panel Suburban as his temporary on-site home! He was a Vietnam Vet and his nephew asked that his dog tag always stay with the keys to the truck. The nephew restored the vehicle as a tribute to his uncle who is now deceased. As you can see from the service parts ID tag, this Suburban was restored back to it's original specs. The seats were recently restored with factory vinyl and the rubber floor mat is new. Besides those items there is very little we had to do to get this Chevy looking as great as the photos show. We have had it on the road a few times and it does great at highway speeds. It is a big vehicle and would be impossible to keep laser straight for 42 year. Upon close inspection you can see that body filler was needed in some areas to keep the Suburban looking respectable. This is definitely not a trailer queen but we want to disclose all we can and will be answer to get you all the information you need to make a bid. We welcome all pre-buy inspections and 3rd party mobile inspectors. Additional features and options include; 350 V8, Auto, RWD, Center Console Storage, Chrome Grill/Bumpers/Mirrors, Push Button AM/FM Radio, Chrome Luggage Rack, Vent Windows, Wood Bed, Super Start Battery, Spare Tire w/Cover, Tire Tools, Factory 15" 5-Lug Wheels, and Thick P225/75/R15 White Wall Tires! Odomometer shows 37k miles and with lack of supporting documentation we have to assume it is 137k. In just 10 days one savvy bidder will own this rare Chevy Panel Suburban at "true" market value. Bid strong and bid to win. There will only be one new owner and yes .... you can miss out on owning this Suburban for as little as $1.00! Experienced bidders have snipe programs that will throw in a bid during the last few second. The only way to ensure you are top bidder is to bid high and overcome their snipes. This vehicle is also listed for sale locally and we reserve the right to sell this vehicle to the first person who submits a reasonable offer in conjunction with an immediate $500 deposit. Leak reveals GM's 2017 heavy duty diesel trucks to get 910 lb-ft of torque [UPDATE]
Tue, Sep 27 2016UPDATE: Chevrolet officially announced specs for the 2017 Silverado HD and the rumors were true. The truck's new Duramax 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V8 puts out 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. Chevrolet says the new motor produces 19 percent more torque and 12 percent more horsepower, while producing 35 percent fewer emissions. Overall, the new engine is a big improvement over the current motor, which generates 397 horsepower and 765 pound-feet of torque. According to Truck Trend, GM's newest heavy duty pickup trucks will pick up quite a bit more power and torque. The publication spotted a recent GM Powertrain ordering catalog that had the engine specs for the 2017 model year and managed to get some screenshots before the catalog was taken down, and they can be viewed here. The screenshots revealed that the 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 powering the Silverado and Sierra heavy duty models will boast 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. This is a substantial gain over the current models' 397 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque, and as Truck Trend points out, it exceeds the Ford Super Duty line's horsepower output of 440, but comes short of the 925 lb-ft rating. Truck Trend credits part of this output gain to the new intake system GM will introduce on the 2017 heavy duties. The intake gets 60 percent of its air from a scoop on the hood, with the other 40 percent coming from behind one of the front fenders. GM doesn't reveal horsepower figures in the press release about the scoop, but it does say the cooler air helps with maintaining the engine's output, and that the scoop does produce a ram-air affect, providing more air at speed. As we know, more air plus more fuel equals more power, but there's likely more to the power increase in this engine than only the intake. Next Chevy Volt will be 2016 model and ride on new chassis
Fri, Mar 7 2014What do we know about the 2016 Chevy Volt? Well, for now, all we can do is try to put the puzzle together without the box. Thankfully, a new batch of pieces has arrived from a new report in Edmunds, which says that the 2016 model year will introduce the second generation of a car that hasn't been dramatically updated since it went on sale in 2010. The new Volt is getting an "evolutionary styling change" and will ride on a new front-drive platform that has been developed by General Motors. GM's Kevin Kelly told AutoblogGreen that he has "no comment on future products," but he did acknowledge that Chevrolet is working on a second-generation Volt, "but I can't say anything about timing." Everybody already knew that a next-gen Volt is coming, so that's not a surprise. What we don't know is any real concrete information on the car itself. The few tidbits of information we do have help define the outlines of the next version of Chevy's halo car, but they're not confirmed yet. For the record, they range from the eye-raising (a $10,000 price drop) to the logical (20 percent more electric range). We can't see the whole picture yet, but the pieces do point to the 2016 Volt, which would be released next year sometime, being a much bigger deal than the last update, when the Volt's range was increased by three electric miles thanks to a battery capacity increase of 16 kWh to 16.5.
Man spent $75 on a truck that lasted 38 years
Mon, Jan 5 2015Absurd as it is, some buyers today are worried about getting their car to last throughout the term of their seven-year car loan. Minnesota resident Bob Sportel has the opposite issue: his Chevrolet truck seemingly won't die. Sportel needed a cheap ride to get to work when he took a job at a farmer's co-op 38 years ago, so he bought a rusty 1957 Chevy pickup for $75 from a farmer; at the time, the 20-year-old truck was almost as old as Bob was. After nearly four decades of daily driving and an estimated 300,000 miles, Sportel is still driving the truck today. Bolts secure a fender, Bondo secures the lights, what looks like a whole roll of duct tape keeps him sitting on the bench seat instead of in it. For a 58-year-old pickup that's never seen a garage or a new coat of paint – but did get its oil changed four times a year – that's not bad; Sportel thinks his repair bill hasn't got above $1,000 for the entire time he's owned the truck. He still has no plans to get rid of it, saying, "It just becomes a part of you." You can watch his story in the video above. News Source: KARE11.com Chevrolet Truck Classics Videos
