Up for sale is this Fantastic 1999 Chevrolet Suburban K1500 LS with the 4x4 package. This Suburban is immaculate and has a Burgundy Red exterior with grey interior. The seats are in brand new condition and they are fully powered with lumbar controls. This Suburban just turned 45k miles and it runs and drives fantastically. This is a really nice low mile car and no doubt the cleanest Suburban on eBay. You will not find another one like this anywhere.
This vehicle was a ONE OWNER vehicle and it was owned by a very meticulous individual. The vehicle also appears to be all original with no paint or bodywork ever done to this vehicle. This vehicle was very well taken cared of and it shows. This vehicle needs nothing but a new caring owner and a new home. The previous owner never smoked in this car and it was always meticulously maintained.
The previous owner was so picky with this car that he purchased all winter mats from the GM dealership to prevent any damage to the vehicles carpeting and interior.
This Chevy is loaded up with all the options. It has the powerful Vortec V8 engine, 4x4 package, towing package, running boards, power seat with lumbar controls, rear air conditioning, alloy wheels, cruise control, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, daytime running lights, roof racks, fold down rear seating for more storage capacity, and so much more to list. This Suburban has it all!
This Suburban comes with a set of two keys (one for the ingition and one for the doors). We also have all the original GM floor mats as well. I Have all the original books and records for the vehicle. I have the unused full-size spare tire, unused first aid kit, and the Suburban luggage carry-on bag with the thermos. I have everything for this car that it came with from the factory. Its just unbelievable.
This vehicle was very well cared for and it shows. The maintenance all appears to be current and the vehicle is reliable and runs like a dream. The car has a matching set of Michellin tires that has a good amount of tread left.. The previous owner just installed a new battery less than 3,000 miles ago. We have driven this vehicle 500 miles and it seems to be running and driving 100%. You can literally jump in this vehicle and drive it 2,000 miles back home without any problems. The motor and transmission fluids are all very clean and the vehicle has good brakes, good rotors, and new windshield wiper blades. The vehicle is ready to go now without any issues. The car steers arrow straight whithout you even having to hold the steering wheel (see my video) and the ride is tight and responsive. I have posted a video of the cars features and I have posted over 150 photos of the vehicle so you get an idea of what you are buying.
The exterior of the vehicle is super clean. The body panels are all perfect and the paintwork is all original and in perfect shape. The paint is glossy and the vehicle looks like its only a couple of years old. You can see your reflection in the paint of this vehicle. The exterior is in above average condition and super mint. There is no real flaws to point out on the exterior at all, just alittle chrome flaking on the rear bumper and a small ding on the passenger door.
The interior of the vehicle is like brand new. The seats are in pristine condition and the fabric is supple and clean. The dash and door panels are also in perfect condition and clean.  All the trimmings and other interior trims are in perfect condition with no cracks or delamination. The interior is in fantastic condition in my opinion. The interior was just completly detailed recently!
This car is being sold as-is, where-is, and there is no warranties expressed or implied. If you would like to see the car and test drive it, you are more than welcome to do so. Also, feel free to ask me about the buy-it-now price. If you are located outside my local area, I will assist in any way possible in having the car shipped to you at your cost. A $500 non-refundable deposit must be made within 24 hours on the auctions end. The remaining balance must be paid in full by 3 days after the closing of the auction unless other arrangements are discussed with me in advance. I do drive this vehicle daily, so the mileage on the vehicle may be slightly higher at the end of the auction. With that being said, feel free to email, call, or text me at anytime if you have any questions or concerns. My name is Joe and my number is 347-961-1194.  Thanks and good luck bidding!

IIHS: High numbers of drivers treat partially automated cars as fully self-driving

Tue, Oct 11 2022

WASHINGTON — Drivers using advanced driver assistance systems like Tesla Autopilot or General Motors Super Cruise often treat their vehicles as fully self-driving despite warnings, a new study has found. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), an industry funded group that prods automakers to make safer vehicles, said on Tuesday a survey found regular users of Super Cruise, Nissan/Infiniti ProPILOT Assist and Tesla Autopilot "said they were more likely to perform non-driving-related activities like eating or texting while using their partial automation systems than while driving unassisted." The IIHS study of 600 active users found 53% of Super Cruise, 42% of Autopilot and 12% of ProPILOT Assist owners "said that they were comfortable treating their vehicles as fully self-driving." About 40% of users of Autopilot and Super Cruise — two systems with lockout features for failing to pay attention — reported systems had at some point switched off while they were driving and would not reactivate. "The big-picture message here is that the early adopters of these systems still have a poor understanding of the technologyÂ’s limits," said IIHS President David Harkey. The study comes as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is scrutinizing Autopilot crashes. Since 2016, the NHTSA has opened 37 special investigations involving 18 deaths in crashes involving Tesla vehicles and where systems like Autopilot were suspected of use. Tesla did not respond to requests for comment. Tesla says Autopilot does not make vehicles autonomous and is intended for use with a fully attentive driver who is prepared to take over. GM, which in August said owners could use Super Cruise on 400,000 miles (643,740 km) of North American roads and plans to offer Super Cruise on 22 models by the end of 2023, did not immediately comment. IIHS said advertisements for Super Cruise focus on hands-free capabilities while Autopilot evokes the name used in passenger airplanes and "implies TeslaÂ’s system is more capable than it really is." IIHS in contrast noted ProPILOT Assist "suggests that itÂ’s an assistance feature, rather than a replacement for the driver." NHTSA and automakers say none of the systems make vehicles autonomous. Nissan said its name "is clearly communicating ProPILOT Assist as a system to aid the driver, and it requires hands-on operation.

Man spent $75 on a truck that lasted 38 years

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Absurd as it is, some buyers today are worried about getting their car to last throughout the term of their seven-year car loan. Minnesota resident Bob Sportel has the opposite issue: his Chevrolet truck seemingly won't die. Sportel needed a cheap ride to get to work when he took a job at a farmer's co-op 38 years ago, so he bought a rusty 1957 Chevy pickup for $75 from a farmer; at the time, the 20-year-old truck was almost as old as Bob was. After nearly four decades of daily driving and an estimated 300,000 miles, Sportel is still driving the truck today. Bolts secure a fender, Bondo secures the lights, what looks like a whole roll of duct tape keeps him sitting on the bench seat instead of in it. For a 58-year-old pickup that's never seen a garage or a new coat of paint – but did get its oil changed four times a year – that's not bad; Sportel thinks his repair bill hasn't got above $1,000 for the entire time he's owned the truck. He still has no plans to get rid of it, saying, "It just becomes a part of you." You can watch his story in the video above. News Source: KARE11.com Chevrolet Truck Classics Videos

Next-gen Chevy Cruze caught cruising in the cold

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Spy photographers have caught what looks like the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze out on snow patrol. The camo could be tricking our eyes, but it look like it has an even tidier, more rounded front end and even lower fenders in relation to the top of the hood. And either a chunk of camo has been wedged between the side mirrors and the doors, or the mirrors are up for revision, too.
The door handles have been moved up the side of the car, leading the way to a rear end that grows a bit in length. If the rumors are true, the coming second-generation Cruze sits on the new D2XX platform that will replace the Delta and Theta platforms at General Motors. A global architecture, the Cruze will be the first to get it, but it will underpin everything from next Chevrolet Volt to the Equinox and could be responsible for 2.5 million units by 2018. The next Cruze is expected to begin production in GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant in the third quarter of 2014.
