Hello. With our boys heading to college, its time to downsize and sell our dependable family SUV. I have spared no expense maintaining this truck because this SUV hauls my family every day through every kind of weather. As I'll explain, this truck is in absolutely perfect mechanical condition and should make someone a reliable, affordable vehicle for many years to come. Pick it up and drive it to the grocery store or anywhere across country with confidence.
The basics: The Suburban is powered by a 5.3l v8 with automatic transmission. It has push button four wheel drive with high and low range. We've never towed or plowed with it but it sure has plenty of power. The truck starts in any weather without fail and has never let us down. I have taken great care of it going above and beyond on maintenance. I've done the oil and filter changes religiously with premium products. The truck does not smoke, use oil, or leak a drop of any fluids.
Serviced recently: Brand new air conditioning compressor, brand new ceramic heavy duty brake pads on all 4 wheels, brand new rotors on all 4 wheels, 4 newer matching goodyear all season tires with 90% tread. Its super roomy with 3 rows of seats for 9 adults and all your gear. The double barn doors on the back are a great feature for loading and unloading groceries, sleds, your stuff.
The Good: Truck is well maintained and has never let us down. Frame and paint is solid with no rot or rust issues. It is reliable, roomy, and safe. The 4x4 system works great and the truck is very sure-footed; she's gotten the family home safely every time through the worst New England blizzards and ice storms. The GM 5.3l v8 is known to go 3-400,000 miles or more with proper maintenance. At 150k this truck is still breaking in. All the glass and paint are in good shape. The kelly blue book retail value is $8,540.
The Bad: The passenger side rear seatbelt needs an adjustment as one of our guests pulled it all the way out so the recoil mechanism isn't working. The driver side rear door panel is loose and needs new fasteners. The front bench seat is black vinyl and has a tear on the driver side. The two rear rows of bench seats are tan leather. There are dings and spills as you would expect from 4 boys and their friends climbing around in the truck. There is one or two shopping cart dings on the outside. This won't compete with a prius in gas mileage but I always preferred the tough, large envelope around my family over fuel economy. That's it.
Please check my feedback and bid with confidence. This will make you a nice, dependable, safe vehicle for any years to come if you keep up with the maintenance. There is no shipping for the truck. There are no warranties on this sale. Title is clear and in hand. Buyer will get title and bill of sale. Please be prepared to conclude this transaction within 7 days of auction close. Cash at pickup is strongly preferred though I accept paypal if you want the protections it provides. You are most welcome to come check out the truck before bidding.
Thank you for checking out this auction. Good luck bidding.

Looking back on our favorite cars of Mad Men
Tue, Apr 7 2015The second half of the seventh and final season of Mad Men debuted this week, set to cap a run of public and critical acclaim. A decade's worth of interesting cars also made for good television, if you were paying attention. Vehicles didn't often steal the spotlight from Don, Betty, Roger, Joan and the gang, but they added meaningfully to the tone and beauty of the series. We sorted through the wheeled extras from Mad Men's archives, and choose some of our favorites to highlight. The list consists of cars that had at least a small impact on the plot of an episode, though certainly there are worthy gems hiding in just about every street and driving scene. Check out our subjective top five, and then let us know which of the Mad Men cars would be on your list. 1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille – Season 2 Don Draper's Cadillac Coupe DeVille, all 500 feet of it, shows up in a few seasons of the show, but it's the first appearance that sets the tone. A Cadillac salesman, cut from the same cloth as Draper, asks what Don drives right now. "A Dodge," Don admits. "Those are wonderful if you want to get somewhere," allows the salesman, "this is for when you've already arrived." For a man on the move up corporate and social ladders that's a powerful message, and a pitch-perfect car. 1961 Lincoln Continental – Season 3 The most stylish Lincoln Continental ever is perfect set dressing for the mod show, of course. Though it's interesting that the car isn't cast as dapper Draper's ride, but rather his father-in-law's. Grandpa Gene does what all great grandfathers are bound to: lets his granddaughter Sally drive the big Lincoln while he works the pedals. Generational bond secured, in fine fashion. When you go back through the first three seasons of the show, you'll notice that Continentals show up more than once, too. There's nothing quite like them to evoke the best of the early '60s. 1963 John Deere 110 – Season 3 The only non-standard passenger vehicle on the list, no self-respecting gearhead/Mad Men fan should quibble with the inclusion of the John Deere 110 riding mower. For starters, the Deere is lovely to look at; a miniature version of the American Heartland icon in its green and yellow duds. The 110 appears as if milled from a solid block of steel, just the opposite of today's sleek, plasticky lawn minders (we're scouring Craigslist for one to bring home). The John Deere also has dear ramifications to the plot, too.
Valet mode captures joyride in red Corvette
Thu, Dec 18 2014A man in California is among the first to catch a valet behaving badly in his 2015 Corvette using a controversial built-in recording feature. Dan Cowles told KTLA 5 when he bought his dream car, a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, he opted for the Performance Data Recorder. The Corvette PDR uses a high-definition camera mounted in the windshield header, a microphone in the cabin and a GPS receiver that record and track the sports car's movements and sounds. They work together to produce a video with telemetry overlay, so you can see acceleration rates, lap times and g-forces. The system can be customized to show extensive performance data, or simply video of your drive like a traditional dash cam. It also comes with Valet Mode, which locks the glove box, disables entertainment and records video. The audio recording feature ran afoul of several state's recording consent laws, but this video has no audio, indicating the fix may have been as easy as turning off the microphone. Cowles dropped off his hot red 'Vette with the valets at the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts in Costa Mesa, CA. When he got his car back he checked the PDR and discovered footage of the valet taking a short, but intense, joyride in the garage. In the video, the valet finds a straightaway in a tiered parking garage and pushes the car to 50 miles per hour in five seconds before quickly stopping. He then parks the car without incident. The valet then gets out of the car and takes one more admiring look at the front. The valet company has yet to commented on the video, according to Fox News, but valets everywhere should be on notice; that little red Corvette you have your eye on may have its eyes on you. Here's why automakers roll out those Texas-themed pickup trucks
Thu, Sep 29 2016Every year, automakers with a full-size truck link make a big show of the Texas State Fair, usually involving a reveal of a new model. Sometimes they show a whole new truck, and other times a special edition centered on the Lone Star state. While some people might write this off as a quirk of the industry, others might be wondering, "What's the big deal with Texas?" As it turns out, part of the big deal with Texas is big truck sales. According to Dave Sullivan, product analysis manager at AutoPacific, Texas buys more trucks than any other state in the country. It's not a small margin either. Edmunds.com, one in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. The state also accounts for 15 percent of the country's large truck sales, which is more than twice that of California, the second largest truck market in America. Even when you break down sales only in Texas, trucks are a huge piece of the pie - Sullivan says that a quarter of new vehicle sales in Texas are trucks. One in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. But it's not just sales that make truck builders give attention to Texas. As Sullivan explained, "Pickups are life in Texas." Both he and Hugh Milne, marketing and advertising manager for the Chevy Silverado line, said that trucks are key fixtures in Texas society, as both work trucks and luxury vehicles (or Texas Cadillacs as Milne called them). Milne said Texas is so important in the truck market that if you want to be successful in the rest of the country, "you've got to be successful in Texas." As for the State Fair, it has become a prime location for reveals in part because of the importance of the Texas market and because of how big the fair is. Milne also revealed that the State Fair also hosts its own auto show, so it's an ideal venue for a vehicle introduction. So there you have it. Why do truck builders obsess over Texas? It's because Texas obsesses over trucks. When you have one market that loves your product that much, you give it the attention it deserves.
