Thanks for looking at my BEAUTIFUL K2500 Suburban 4wd.  I just took it to Jersey and towed a car on a single trailer with NO PROBLEMS!

This burb has all the options in the RARE LT trim, with Black paint, and tan interior.  You will not find one like this for a long time, if ever! Only 153k miles, and maintained to the highest degree!  This truck was NEVER off-roaded, never regularly towed anything heavy, spare the off chance it was needed.  Was used as a "show-off" truck and previous owner from 96k miles (large auto business owner) did many expensive things to get attention, and we both did what it took to have a perfect running truck.

Basics:
Injected Full roller Vortec 454 big block; only synthetic oil used.
LT Trim with tan leather, heated seats, CD/Aux
Push button 4wd works flawlessly.
14 bolt rear end (G80 positraction option)
Factory 3.73 gears (GT4)
See above description for other options

Added Items:
Custom Ranch Hand thick steel front bumper with 9000 lb. Magnum Winch (BIG $)
Tinted windows
6 inch Lift (Full kit with control arms and torsion bars, etc...) (BIG $)
33" Mastercraft tires
powdercoated Black Aluminum Wheels (original, not cheap paint or plastidip)
K/N air intake
JET mass-air flow sensor/unit that GREATLY improves the airflow issue caused by the stock MAF.
Flowmaster Muffler (50 series) Not loud- just enough to tell that this is a big block!
Hypertech tuner for economy/towing.
New Factory radio with built-in Aux Input for ipods, MP3 players and other electronic devices.
Westin Side-step bars

Maintenance:
Fluids changed in the past 5,000 miles:
-Antifreeze full flush
-Transfer case
-Transmission, including filter and solenoid (not faulty, but while in there had it done)
-Front axle
-Rear Axle
The common intake gasket issue has been repaired.
New brakes: Rotors, Pads, Drums, Shoes
Undercoated with Oil Bath (Carwell T32-the best!) to preserve all lines, frame, and metal surfaces from cracking, corrosion, and wear.
Non-smoker
No leaks
No Check Engine Lights.
NO RUST!  Only 2 small paint chips (see corner of hood and lower corner of driver barn door); these will be touched up before sold!
All work done by certified mechanic.
Drives straight, smooth, no rattles, shakes, play in suspension, etc.. etc... etc...
Interior is Very clean- just has winter floor mats still in.

This was first winter for the truck up north; I bought from Maryland in November.  I had it oiled before the snow fell (4 full quarts in all hiding places and surfaces), so there is not any corrosion damage.  We have purchased a new home, so sadly it needs to go; but not due to any problems at all.  I will be tripling my driving distance to work and this gets 12mpg average, 14-15mpg hwy at 70. (I still got 10mpg+ towing a 6000lb loaded trailer over 400 miles).

Contact me with any further questions at 716 445-87hundred.  Please check my feedback.  I did receive one seller negative feedback- Buyer came, inspected/drove vehicle thoroughly before paying and driving 800 miles home.  1 week later left negative feedback for a reason he would not share.  Buyer did not contact me regarding any specific issues and I was unable to respond to the comment.  I can assure you that it was in perfect running condition when I sold it, and could have sold it to 3 other buyers in line behind that person. (A diesel 02 excursion limited 4x4).  I take GREAT pride in my vehicles, and this suburban is no exception!

Thanks, Eric

GM's MPG overstatement could affect 2 million vehicles

Tue, May 17 2016

Late last week, GM admitted that three of its large SUVs fuel economy window stickers did not match their actual efficiency ratings, and so the vehicles couldn't be sold. The stickers on the 2016 Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave said their ratings were one to two miles per gallon better than they should have been. Officially, the number of affected vehicles sits at about 60,000. But Consumer Reports makes a good point: what's up with all of the previous model year SUVs that are basically the same vehicle? To wit: the 2016 model year vehicles are not substantially different than the 2015 or the 2014, or even going all the way back to 2007. On the EPA's fuel economy website, all of these older models will "have better stated fuel economy numbers than the new vehicles in GM's dealerships," Consumer Reports noted. CR's best point, and the one that makes the 60,000 number potentially grow to 2 million if all of the vehicles built on this platform are affected, is that "[i]t seems unlikely that the company would change the powertrain on these carryover models so late in their model cycles in a way that would cause a dramatic, negative impact on fuel economy." GM says that earlier model year SUVs are not affected and the EPA did not respond to CR's question about the potential for more discrepancies. We've seen automakers reverse course before, so if GM has to come out with a mea culpa soon, don't be surprised. GM is rushing corrected stickers to dealers so that the SUVs can be sold again, but a fix for the already-sold vehicles could be trickier to solve. Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]

Wed, 15 May 2013

We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
