1986 Chevrolet K10 Suburban Convertible Go Topless Custom Build 4x4 Bad To Bone on 2040-cars
Sarasota, Florida, United States
This is a custom built offroad/cruising machine, use it as you please, shows, offroad, rock climbing, you decide,
It is a 1986 Chevrolet Suburban Under 3000 Miles on mild built sbc 350 and 700r4 (stated from previous owner and gauges) Was stated had performance cam and pistons and was 30 over. Also has full msd ignition offroad 6, wires. Edelbrock intake and carb. New rear wheel cylinders, new 4 core radiator, new hoses, brand new MSD offroad 6 ignition box, new tune up, brand new interstate battery and terminals, led bulbs, air bags on rear axle. 6" all spring suspension lift Hi jack, jack on roof rack Custom exhaust with converters and crossover pipe, all welded system. Sadly due to regulations in our community this truck is not allowed and we are forced to sell it.
I had to move this from our location as it is not allowed in our neighborhood. I had done quite a bit of work already to it but I wanted to put a new air filter and some more gas in it for a new owner, after getting the air filter I started to drive over for gas and as I pulled out the truck the spider gears and rear carrier broke, I put it on a trailer and took it out to another location. Engine under 3000 miles as well as trans. You cannot build this truck for under $20k. Take note that I removed the chunks out of the rear and it can still be driven onto a trailer. The bad is the rear spider gears and carrier need replaced Stereo amp removed fuse as the wiring needs fixed or amp replaced Air compressor was working for rear air bags and has now stopped, I have not tested why yet as we had to move it that night from our home to another location and I have not been back out to check it. I cannot verify the condition of this vehicle, that is up to the buyer, I have done my best to describe it the best that I can which includes checking what I have. There are no warranties and the vehicle is sold as is where as. I have only owned this truck for 2 months and only drove it from a little less than a month. I went through the truck and replaced anything that I found was needed to make it safe to drive and anything that needed replaced that I found. On a title check you can see an odometer issue, I know of none, it was most likely an error but in any event what is most important is to know that the gauges were replaced and do not represent the vehicle mileage, the gauges do however represent the engine/trans mileage. Often times when an odometer rolls over it may get the 1 missed in front of the other 5 numbers or some only have 5 numbers and thus possibly that owner did not notice. I cannot say, just commenting on what I see on the title/vehicle history and wanted to be clear about it as there is nothing hidden I say that because the factory dash is not in the truck other then the vin number section, the rest was covered with a custom made dash, custom switches, and custom shark digital gauges. Truck must be sold, as much as I would love to keep it we are not allowed to store it at our home. Truck has a clear title and is registered in my name, street legal. Seats could use to be replaced and would look really good with a set of 4 recaro or corbeau bucket seats in it. I had many things I was going to do with it but sadly it must go and I must move on. When it was drivable (rear axle not having problems) it ran and drove perfect and was very fun to drive. If you do NOT like attention then this is not the truck for you, I say this because everyone will stop and talk to you about it, everyone will stare at it, everyone will point at it, so if you do like attention this is the truck for you. Please no games, vehicle must go and must be paid for right away as we are looking to purchase a home and need it to be sold right away. |

Recharge Wrap-up: NEDC's NOx problems, autonomous Chevy Volts
Mon, Dec 7 2015The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) found a significant difference in NOx emissions in Euro 6 diesel cars in NEDC and WLTC testing. While 88 percent of the cars tested met emissions standards for NEDC, NOx emissions averaged five times higher under WLTC, with only 27 percent of vehicles under the limit. WLTC is considered to be a more realistic driving cycle, using hot starts and factoring a higher top speed as well as harder and more frequent accelerations than the NEDC. Employees will be able to use a carsharing app to reserve a car, which will then drive itself to the set destination. The project will allow GM to collect important data and experience to help the company more quickly develop autonomous driving technology. The lithium-ion batteries used to power the EV were recycled from other Renault EVs. With the electric Trafic, Carwatt – a company that converts vehicles to use electric power – aims to demonstrate the "circular economy" of batteries, which can provide more value through a longer lifecycle. Read more in the press release below. Carwatt presents a unique automotive application for second-life batteries from electric vehicles. On the sidelines of the COP21 summit, in the Solutions Gallery running from 2 to 9 December 2015 in Le Bourget near Paris, Carwatt and its partners —Renault, Paris City Council, BPI France, the Ales Ecole des Mines Engineering School, and the Bobigny Business Campus — are showing a very special electric Renault Trafic. This prototype vehicle, the only one of kind in the world, is powered by second-life lithium-ion batteries recycled from Renault electric cars. Circular economy at work with electric vehicles When, over time, the batteries of a Renault electric vehicle fall the performance threshold specified for their initial automotive power duty (around 75% of initial capacity), they can still provide valuable service in "second-life" applications before end-of-life disposal at a recycling centre. Experiments are already under way on power storage applications, for example.
Best and Worst GM Cars
Thu, Apr 7 2022Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded. While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
